Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4974  Enraged Nora

Nora rushed toward Laura and slapped her, sending her flying, but she barely flew before Nora grabbed her with a flaming palm and brought her closer, repeatedly slapping her.

Davis reeled back in terror.

Even Evan was helpless, unable to make a sound, knowing he would only make things worse if he tried to argue with Mother Nora.

”Why did you do something like that? Did our teachings fall on empty ears!?”

Nora cried out in anger as she kept slapping and hitting Laura.

Davis felt bad. He didnʼt intend to make the gesture to have Nora really kill Laura. He reached out his hand.

”Mother Nora… you…”

”Shut up!”

Nora glared at him with tearful eyes, her expression filled with anguish. If it werenʼt for the concealment formation disc that Davis gave her, which also sealed her when her energy surged, she wouldʼve already burst out in rage.

She then turned to look at Evan, kicking him out of the chair.

Evan shot to the ground, bursting out a mouthful of blood. His ribs may have broken. At the same time, Laura wasnʼt faring any better, her face bruised and swollen already, even burned.

”What would happen if your Mother Claire knew!? Are you two trying to make me commit suicide out of shame!?”

Noraʼs beatings slowly came to an end as she roared in anguish.

”…”

Davis had no words to say, but he could now see where Lauraʼs explosive character came from. It was just Nora in rage.

Nonetheless, Davis could tell that Nora still suppressed herself somewhat, considering she was a Level Four Empyrean whose slap could end their lives, so he didnʼt interfere and let her discipline them.

At this moment, Logan also revealed himself.

He was shocked at Noraʼs appearance and also at a loss, having nothing to do but just put on an act; he went ahead and beat up Evan.

He had no qualms about it since he also felt angered and betrayed.

Evan ended up losing a few teeth and got his bones cracked.

Nora spotted Logan, her expression full of shame, but she hurriedly went to him and knelt, seeking forgiveness for them.

Whatever she did, she was explosive as if she didnʼt have her calm anymore.

Davis could only sigh inwardly.

Their anger was true, and their intent to save them was also true. They just couldnʼt abandon their children, so he wondered if they could forgive them. He didnʼt care about reputation for the most part since he would do whatever he wanted as long as it felt right for him, but the thing about this was that it depended on the person and their biases.

What might feel right or ignorable might be unforgiving to most.

From what he felt from Logan and Nora, they were unwilling to forgive them.

Davis touched his forehead and asked, ”Evelynn, howʼs mother doing?”

”She broke down again, but donʼt worry, Iʼll look after her…”

Evelynn took her hand from Claireʼs forehead and also dropped the two fingers she had placed on her own forehead to project Davisʼs vision into Claireʼs mind.

”Evelynn… ahh… theyʼre hurt so bad… my poor Evan… I still canʼt understand why they would do this…”

Claire threw herself into her daughter-in-lawʼs embrace and cried after witnessing and hearing everything.

”Thereʼs nothing we can do if that is what they like and firmly believe their lives revolve around it…”

Evelynn caressed her mother-in-law, comforting her.

”…”

On the other side of her vision, Davis heaved a sigh.

He had contacted Evelynn to prevent Claire from taking any drastic measures like committing suicide, since her mentality had been quite unstable after learning about this issue. At the same time, he contacted Nora using soul sense when he walked outside their mansion and had her take the concealment formation disc that also had his brand of sealing spirit formation.

He didnʼt want to hide this from Nora, and unless he wanted, Nora wouldnʼt be able to interfere.

He didnʼt tell Nora anything other than telling her she would be watching something life-flipping, so when he released her, he half-expected her to go berserk.

ʼI guess we should put a ban on healing their childrenʼs injuries for a few months… perhaps that would change their minds…ʼ

Davis thought as he looked at the sorry shape Evan and Laura were in.

A few moments ago, they were still good, but now, they were quite bloodied and burned. He had the urge to heal them, but restrained himself. He felt a bit hurt but endured.

He also thought of a few more punishments like isolation, reflection, and a seal on their cultivations for a few years, but the latter was extremely cruel since these were their prime years to develop, so he thought against it.

In the end, he stood in front of them and announced their punishments.

Laura and Evan finally revealed a smile.

In the punishment, there was no separation.

Logan and Noraʼs expressions changed.

”No healing and seal, even their natural healing by leaving remnant energy…? You canʼt be serious. That would create sequela… and harm their blood essence…!”

Logan argued, and even Nora looked quite dismayed.

”Heh!”

Davis scoffed, ”Seems like you two only intend to put on a show instead of actually punishing them. Shall I put them out of their misery instead? The two of them prefer it more compared to-”

”Stop…”

Logan clenched his fists. He pointed at Davis and said, ”Good, good. Youʼve proven your point. Daily fifteen whip lashes for the first three months, no healing for six months, and isolation and self-reflection for a year. We got it.”

”Feel free to break my ruling anytime, but donʼt depend on me anymore then.”

Davis flicked his sleeves as he turned around and left.

Logan and Nora watched him leave before they both visibly heaved a sigh of relief. Nora then immediately turned to glare at her daughter and slapped her for the last time.

”Youʼre grounded even as an adult! Iʼm so ashamed of the things youʼve done that I should kill you myself. Evan, youʼd better apologize to your mother and get disciplined. The two of you will never see each other again.”

”Ma!”

Laura shouted, only for Nora to raise her hand and swing, causing Logan to stop her.

”Stop, stop… this is a sensitive issue. We have to slowly make them separate…”

Nora shook, ”If they donʼt… then what?”

The two of them spoke through soul transmission while Evan and Laura weakly glanced at each other, their faces badly bruised and burned, yet they could see their miserable smiles beneath it all.

They thought their faces fit them very well, unsightly and broken.

Regardless, as long as their parents didnʼt abandon them and their big brother didnʼt kill them, they considered this a… victory.
