Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4979  Peculiar Actions

Davis was speechless.

If Aila keeps asking that, they were sooner or later going to meet someone who knew him. After all, it wasnʼt like no one knew he was the Divine Emperor of Death. The Golden Radiance Divine Exalt and his inner circle knew about him in hearsay.

If it wasnʼt for Zenova poisoning them to death, his name and title wouldʼve already spread from them after his tribulation.

He had no assurance that the information wouldnʼt spread from the imperial palace.

A very few minority could be aware of the Divine Emperor of Death, and it just so happens that he was unlucky most of the time when it came to these matters.

”Divine Emperor of Death? I know that person.”

Abruptly, someone appeared from one of the breeding grounds, flying over as they released their Immortal Emperor undulations.

Davis and Aila turned to look, the latter nearly jumping from fright.

ʼHad I messed up…?ʼ

Aila wondered as she looked at a blue-robed man descending from the skies and landing before them. He raised his hand and flicked his long crimson hair, appearing dashing before he elegantly pointed at himself.

”That would be me, yours truly~”

”…”

Davis and Aila looked at each other, not expecting to meet a person like this out in nowhere. It was very strange.

They returned their gaze and measured him.

”Your name?” Aila asked, still having command over the conversation as her presence was large even though her height wasnʼt.

Although the horse couldnʼt understand, the two caretakers admittedly did as they gave respect to Aila.

On the other hand, they couldnʼt sense Davisʼs presence at all. It was as though he didnʼt exist when they werenʼt looking at him, so they thought he was a skilled bodyguard who could also be an assassin.

The newcomer folded his hands, appearing smug.

”Nameʼs Davis Loret, but donʼt mind me. Iʼm just named Warsten Xsan.”

”Youʼre not Davis Loret?” Ailaʼs cheeks twitched.

”I told you- Iʼm Warsten Xsan, but I will become the Divine Emperor of Death, surpassing even the likes of Davis Loret and gaining hold of the title.”

”Interesting…”

Davis uttered lightly.

He certainly didnʼt expect to meet someone who was aspiring to be the Divine Emperor of Death. Judging by this personʼs looks and cultivation, he seemed to be no more than twenty-four years old, a right fit for class one.

He reached out his hand, grabbing Warsten Xsanʼs hand.

Warsten Xsan jumped, instantly retreating.

”What? Iʼm not into men…” He warily looked at Davis.

On the other hand, Davisʼs brows squinted. He couldnʼt help but smile, ”Interesting, truly interesting… did your physique manifest recently or manifest when you were born?”

”…”

Warsten Xsanʼs expression barely changed, but his pupils dilated.

”What physique? You look young, but youʼre already blind? Sheesh, young lady, you should look after this man…”

He warned Aila before he hurriedly left.

The caretaker looked between them, confused yet understanding it to a degree.

”Who is he?” Aila asked.

”Thatʼs Warsten, the thirtieth son of the Xsan Family and a publicly known wastrel who spends time chasing women, although recently, he began taking care of the breeding grounds and became somewhat diligent in taking care of the farm. The old master has become pleased by his actions.”

The caretaker explained, causing Davis to nod.

”Do some magical beasts drop dead for no reason?”

”How do you know!?”

The caretaker looked at Davis as though he saw a ghost.

Davisʼs lips curled before he raised his hand and placed a spatial ring on the caretakerʼs hands.

The caretaker poured his soul sense inside and was shocked to find a million Mid-Level Immortal Crystals.

”You know, right?”

”What happened? I just walked over and greeted you two. Can I know what respected visitors are here for?” The caretaker instantly changed his tone with a pleasing smile.

ʼThis guy will survive in this world…ʼ

Davis inwardly chuckled before opening his mouth, ”Weʼre here to buy a Rosy Cotton Rabbit. Take us to its farm.”

”Oh? A Rosy Cotton Rabbit? We have plenty in stock. Iʼll take you, respected visitors, to the place right now.”

The caretaker gestured for them to follow him respectfully before he led the way.

Aila grabbed Davisʼs arm and walked together as they followed after him. At the same time, they spoke through physical transmission.

”Does this Warsten Xsan possess a death-attributed physique?”

”Most likely,” Davis answered Aila.

”Moreover, it seems like he knows my name and title but doesnʼt recognize my appearance.”

”Someone mustʼve told him then.” Aila realized that there was someone who was aiding Warsten Xsan.

Davis also pondered this before he smiled amusedly.

”Didnʼt that driver also mention a special event where there was a person who could use mystical energy full of vitality appear in the capital, and was performing miracles as a divine physician?”

”Yes. He was soon declared to be fake by the authorities, but by the looks of it, he mightʼve been kidnapped by some power to work for them.”

Aila guessed, causing Davis to blink before he heaved a breath.

”The yin and yang are again in motion, a fate intertwined in a battle between light and darkness, life and death.”

”…” Ailaʼs expression turned highly curious.

But suddenly, Davis reached out with his other hand to pat her head and ruffle her hair.

”But who cares? Letʼs go see the Rosy Cotton Rabbit.”

”Naughty~”

Aila giggled, saying while thinking the same thing.

Soon, Aila felt her bloodline resonate a bit vaguely.

They walked deeper into the farm, the environment subtly changing. The air grew fresher, carrying a faint sweetness that lingered on the tongue. The formations around this area were noticeably more refined, layered in a way that preserved vitality while preventing any escape.

Soon, they arrived at an open meadow.

And there they were…

Dozens of Rosy Cotton Rabbits dotted the field like scattered blossoms, each one the size of a house.

”The Rosy Cotton Rabbits are one of our most prized livestock. They are gentle by nature, high in vitality, and highly adaptable. Their bloodline is quite stable, allowing them to grow steadily all the way to the peak of the Immortal Emperor Stage if properly nurtured.” The caretaker explained.

Ailaʼs eyes lit up as she stepped closer.

Up close, they were even more enchanting.

Their fur was impossibly soft, resembling freshly spun cotton infused with faint pink hues that deepened near their ears and tails. When the breeze passed, their fur rippled like clouds. Their ears twitched lightly, long and delicate, and gave them a faint rosy glow.

Compared to their heads, their small noses wiggled as they sniffed the air, while their round eyes shimmered like polished rose quartz, filled with a gentle, almost naive curiosity.

Some of them nibbled on spirit grass, their tiny mouths moving in rhythmic contentment. Others hopped around playfully, occasionally bumping into each other before rolling across the grass in soft, fluffy tumbles.

A few larger ones lounged lazily, their bodies resembling plush cushions, exuding a calm and soothing presence.

”Amazing… so many Rosy Cotton Rabbits… there must be at least eleven, thirteen, twenty-one, and twenty-eight. Twenty-eight Rosy Cotton Rabbits! How cute~”

Aila wanted to run to them and cuddle them, but held herself back. The rabbits also looked over at her curiously, recognizing that they possessed a similar bloodline.
