Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4969  Fancy Meeting?

”…”

Claire looked worried but still nodded.

Logan stood up and reassured her before leaving.

ʼHmm, Davis couldʼve gotten to Evan and Laura by now, so Iʼll just…ʼ

His Level Nine Empyrean undulations abruptly lit up like a spark, causing many eyes to fall on him, but they quickly left as they came, except one.

ʼWhat? He still hasnʼt made contact? What were my angry undulations for? Shouldʼve just used a messaging talisman to contact him, but it matters not… thereʼs still time to talk.ʼ

He started moving away, heading out of the estate, when he suddenly met Davis in mid-air.

His expression twitched, ʼHow fast…ʼ

Davis stopped himself, his figure flickering with obliteration energy as arcs of lightning flames full of tempest revolved around him. He appeared in front of his father, thinking he had stopped him in his tracks, but sensing his emotions with Heart Intent, he was quite dumbfounded.

”You… did you really hear from mother?”

”I did.” Logan raised his hand and rubbed his chin, ”Come with me. There are a few things you should know before we face them.”

”Youʼre also coming…? I donʼt think thatʼs good. They will be scared for their lives.”

”Whatʼs wrong with that for what they committed?”

”…”

Davis was unable to retort. He followed his father, and they eventually reached the estateʼs outskirts.

The two of them sat under a tree branch where there was a stone bench and even a swing with long lost signs of their younger generation having played before, although it appeared quite empty now.

There, Logan confessed his past to Davis, causing Davis to experience some shock again, for like the fifth time today.

Davisʼs expression churned, ”This family is a scam. Iʼm leaving…”

Logan was at a loss for words, unable to retort.

”I was kidding. Donʼt make that kind of face.” Davis waved his hand while being seated on the swing.

”Still, itʼs not your fault to be worried over some superstitious curse thatʼs not even a karmic curse thatʼs haunting our bloodline. No one is having any thoughts on their siblings except those two. I can assure you of that when I recently checked them with my karmic powers.”

Davis swung himself up and down, his understanding of his family also on the verge of swaying.

The Loret Familyʼs original scandal itself was truly big, making him feel embarrassed for saying the Zlatan Family was bad. It seemed like the Loret Family of the past was way worse since their reason wasnʼt even bloodline retention or love, but just lust.

Davisʼs eyes flickered as he gazed at his father, ”Youʼre quite the schemer yourself…”

”Iʼm your father.” Logan scoffed, ”All the thoughts you have- their basis was from my mind. If your mother didnʼt appear to seal me, I would still be a dashing hero who has charmed many beauties myself.”

”Haha.”

Davis laughed but didnʼt disagree. His fatherʼs cultivation level and prowess more or less proved what he was saying. Just grabbing some resources and munching on them wouldnʼt define oneʼs quality of law comprehension, even if their Law Intents were high.

He was indeed a supreme genius-level character if he had been born in the Upper Realms and blessed with resources.

Seated on the stone bench, Logan clenched his cupped fists, ”Still, if I had just been a bit more attentive, this wouldnʼt have happened…”

”Yeah…”

Davis sighed lightly. He didnʼt see any red thread of fate between Laura and Evan, so it wasnʼt like fate screwed them from the start. This couldʼve been preventable as long as they had paid attention, but they didnʼt, and the two were as thick as blood and inseparable as a couple.

”Since it is my fault, Iʼll deal with this myself. You can leave, Davis. You go take care of your wives who have waited for you for a long time.”

”…”

”Also, donʼt forget to pay a visit to your mother again. She truly feels bad for misunderstanding you.”

”…” Davis shook his head, ”Thatʼs my fault. In any case, Iʼm not going to leave you like this. Your heart is a mess, not even knowing whether you could forgive them or not. You told me you wouldnʼt kill them, but I fear the darkness in your heart, the Malevolent Darkness Physique can abruptly change it.”

”Then what about you? I know you donʼt take this lightly.”

Logan turned to glare at Davis.

He had already come to terms with his past when he consolidated his truesoul and confessed to Claire. He just didnʼt want Claire to kill Evan and Laura, so he had put on this act, although what he had said was entirely true. Fortunately, as long as Claire or Nora didnʼt kill them, his children would survive.

The only thing he worried about was Davis. In this case, he had no idea what Davis would do.

Sure, Davis had married Tia, his little aunt, but from what he heard, they hadnʼt even consummated their marriage yet. It was incredibly weird, and Tiaʼs family was getting worried over this matter, wondering if Davis thought he had made a mistake when he chose to take Tia.

He also felt doubtful.

So Davisʼs intentions towards Evan and Laura also became ambiguous.

Would he silently make those two disappear even if he didnʼt kill them?

He knew that for his son, erasing everyoneʼs memories wouldnʼt be as difficult as convincing those two to let go of each other.

”Just watch… Iʼll deal with it.”

Davis jumped off from the last swing. He didnʼt land but directly headed off, catching Logan off guard, but ahead of Davisʼs direction, he sensed it.

Evan and Laura were returning from a short adventure into the wild to hunt some feral beasts.

Davis landed in front of them from nowhere, instantly causing them to become alert, but once they saw it was Davis, their expressions brightened.

”Brother, fancy meeting you here on the way back. Is something wrong?”

Evan asked eagerly as he stared at Davis with his soft purple eyes, his long black hair swaying in the wind.

”Something wrong?” Davis raised his hands and interlocked his fingers as he stretched, ”Remember the challenge you made to me when you were small? Itʼs time now. Prepare yourself.”

”…”
