Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4962  A Worried Aila?

”Elder sister Bylai, thank you for indulging in my requests. I wonʼt forget this favor.”

”Donʼt worry. I like to build and sculpture no matter if itʼs a rock or water. That cherry lotus of yours also needs a good place to harness and spread its energy.”

Aila and Bylai stood together as they looked at the huge pond inside the mansion. It was like a luxurious pool in and of itself, and occupying the center of this pool was the Spring Cherry Lotus that was small and beautiful compared to the three million kilometers of space it occupied in the secret realm.

It radiated waves of calm yin energy full of charm, making the spectators completely calm in its presence, but anyone who could sense its grade would be extremely taken aback.

It was an Exalt Grade Cherry Spring Lotus. In other words, its cultivation was basically comparable to that of a lifeform at Early Stage Exalt, itʼs prowess was unknown.

Bylai and Aila walked out of the pond and headed to other places where her home was built with Exalt Grade materials.

Aila looked completely satisfied as her gaze swept across the courtyard.

The mansion stood quietly within a gentle valley surrounded by flowering spirit trees. Unlike Zenovaʼs imposing palace, this residence felt warm and welcoming, as though the entire estate had been built to soothe the heart rather than command respect.

Soft wind rustled through the branches of blooming cherry blossom trees that lined the courtyard. Pale pink petals drifted lazily through the air, occasionally landing upon the calm surface of the pond where the Spring Cherry Lotus floated peacefully.

Anyone who stepped within the estate would instinctively feel their heart lighten and their thoughts quiet.

”This should be enough for it to circulate through the entire estate,” Bylai said as she observed the lotus for a moment before leaving the courtyard.

Aila nodded happily.

”It feels perfect.”

They continued walking along a curved pathway made of smooth moonstone tiles that glowed faintly with a soft milky light. The path wound gracefully through the garden, crossing small bridges that arched over narrow streams of crystal clear spirit water.

Golden spirit fish swam through the streams, occasionally jumping above the surface before disappearing beneath the ripples again. Around them, clusters of peach blossom trees and gentle willow trees swayed softly in the breeze. Tiny spirit butterflies made of shimmering charm energy fluttered lazily between the flowers.

They then turned around to see the palace from which they had come.

It was not grand or overwhelming since it looked almost adorable in its elegance.

The palace consisted of several interconnected pavilions arranged around peaceful courtyards. Each building had gently curved rooftops covered in pale rose-colored spirit tiles that glimmered softly under the sunlight.

The edges of the rooftops were decorated with small jade bells that chimed lightly whenever the wind passed by, not to mention the lanterns that glowed softly even in daylight.

Their sound was delicate and soothing, and their light was peaceful.

Silk curtains of soft pastel colors swayed gently within the breeze, giving the buildings a graceful and feminine beauty.

Bylai found this place extremely lovely and was proud of her creation, inspired by Ailaʼs ideas.

She then turned around to face Aila.

”Alright, itʼs time for me to leave. Others have also requested my brilliance in order to help them create an amazing mansion. Sigh, the requests have increased after they saw what I did for Zenova, and I now find myself too busy.”

”Fortunately, I managed to request it soon after Zenova did~ Otherwise, I wouldʼve been forced to wait in the queue since thereʼs no way to bribe elder sister Bylai, hehe~”

Bylai and Aila laughed together.

Aila was still curious, ”Did you also draw that kirin-dragon painting?”

Bylai smilingly shook her head, ”That was painted by Zenova herself.”

”Oh, sheʼs a lady of many arts~ I canʼt lose~”

Aila clenched her small fists, pumping herself up, making Bylai intrigued.

”Why are you competing with Zenova now?”

”Iʼm not competing. Itʼs just, Zenova came later than me but still managed to make love with husband and even get pregnant… so unfair…”

Bylai also looked as though she was going to cry, ”Even Zestria has Silvia while Iʼm still childless. Donʼt you think both you and Zenova are getting ahead of me?”

”Ahh~ Iʼll wait. Iʼll wait until elder sister Bylai gets pregnant.”

”Silly little sister… getting pregnant is a matter of chance. On the other hand, you havenʼt even been bedded yet, right? You should go actively pursue him.”

”…” Ailaʼs brows widened in excitement, but she quickly deflated, looking at the courtyard tiles.

Bylai blinked, ”Why do you look depressed? Did something happen between you and husband?”

Aila turned a bit hesitant before revealing, ”I was a bit too willful back in the secret realm, indirectly saying I didnʼt need husbandʼs help to tame the Spring Cherry Lotus, even though I didnʼt mean it like that. Do you think I was being rude…?”

”Rude?” Bylai gawked, ”Thatʼs basically slapping his face.”

Ailaʼs pearl-like purple eyes turned moist quickly.

”Is that why he is avoiding me?”

”Avoiding?” Bylai giggled before waving her hand, ”I donʼt think so. Our Emperor isnʼt the type to avoid but confront. In truth, he was extremely busy as soon as he came back, trying to save Natalya after she went ahead and challenged the heaves and dealt with other issues like Lydia, who turned out to be a reincarnator. Sigh, this family is quite strange, making you wonder how strange it could get…!”

She sighed before her brows pricked up.

”Aila, are you a reincarnator?”

”You know I am not~” Aila suppressed her tears and giggled, ”But youʼre right, our husband isnʼt the type to cut me off over this matter.”

”Hehe~” Bylai giggled, looking predatory with a grin, ”Cute little sister. There is no way Davis wouldnʼt want you. Even I feel like eating you alive since you smell so good~”

”Mmph~ My cotton is only for husband~” Aila acted cute as she turned around and pursed her lips with pride, but then saw a female member from the Reaper Soul Legion enter her mansion.

”Greetings, Mistress Aila. While I was patrolling near the Davis Family mansion, I got a letter and was told to deliver this to you.”

”What… a letter? Who is this from?”

”Itʼs from the Legion Master.”

”…!”

That woman smiled a bit before delivering the letter and cupping her hands in respect. She then couldnʼt help herself from admiring the mansion before she left, all the while Aila remained stunned as she gazed at the letter.

”A letter?” Bylaiʼs eyes were wide, ”Quick, open it. Letʼs see what it says…”

Aila came out of her reverie and nodded. She opened the letter while holding her breath and saw a blank scroll, making her eyes tear up again.

Did this mean that he doesnʼt care anymore?

”Silly, look over the back…”

Bylai grabbed the letter and turned it around, causing Aila to react with an ʼohʼ before she read the letter.

[My dear little rabbit, I planned on visiting you now, but more issues I need to deal with have arisen. You donʼt need to forgive me for not visiting you sooner. Insult me, curse me, and even try me under the family law for abandonment. However, I will appear before you personally and apologize soon, before that happens. At that moment, would you be willing to forgive me and hold my hand… please?]

”Yes, yes…. I will~” Aila nearly jumped in excitement as her lips widened with joy.

Just the letter alone made her incredibly happy, but the words completely relieved her worries.

But she quickly shook her head.

”No, no, you need to forgive me first for being rude… I will apologize. I need to write a letter back…!”

Aila quickly turned to look at Bylai and said excitedly, ”Elder sister, help me write a let-”

She abruptly froze as she saw Bylai stare at her with wide eyes full of bad intentions.

”My care and sympathies… give them back…” Bylai uttered coldly, her eyes nearly bloodshot.

”…”

Aila placed her hands over her forehead and crouched, appearing scared like a trembling rabbit.

”Iʼm sowwy~”

Bylaiʼs expression eased instantly as she appeared to reveal a grin. Teasing Aila was always worth it. She knew Davis was going to have a feast when he gets to this place.

==========

”My son~” Claire echoed with surprise.

”Hahaha! My son, youʼre also here, great!”

Logan stood up first from his seat, followed by others who greeted him with gleeful expressions, before he walked towards Davis and appeared in front of him, patting his shoulder.

”I didnʼt expect you to appear since you didnʼt show yourself earlier.”

”Youʼre in a good mood unexpectedly, father…” Davis chuckled, ”Makes me want to break it just for the laughs, but Iʼll let this slide once…”

”Hahaha!” Logan did indeed look more joyous than ever as he slapped Davisʼs shoulder more, ”Good, good. Come, letʼs sit together as a family…”

The display of Will from the imperial decree had made him awed thoroughly. He had thought he wasnʼt bad, considering he reached Level Nine Empyrean Stage, but his son, who had just entered the Empyrean Stage, was totally on a different level.

Even if the heavens were to descend and ask, he would say that his son, the Divine Emperor of Death, was peerless in the Empyrean Stage!

Davis went and sat between his father and mother as they prepared a new chair for him.

It made him unwittingly smile brightly as he felt like a child again.
