Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4226  Spending Time Being A Father

Davis went ahead and played with the children for a whole week.

He was met with trouble when the mothers demanded that he release them since he was making them change their whole schedule. After all, they had a schedule to teach the children certain matters at certain times but, most importantly, try to match their ages. Azariel, Viridia, and Lucian still had to play catch up with their ages, after all.

Hence, it could be said Davis was ruining their timetable.

Nonetheless, he shamelessly declared that their mothers were torturing the children and gained incredible support from the children. Together, they declared their mothers were bad mothers and went away with their father.

”…” Shea and the others could only stare at him.

They decided that they would take this to the harem court and get justice later on.

Davis knew he would pay for it later when the harem council inevitably convened, but for now, he enjoyed every moment with his little troublemakers.

During this time, Davis imparted a lot of things to the children. The days were filled with laughter, mischief, and lessons.

He mostly played with them, but each game was filled with lessons. He taught them battle techniques, refining their stances and honing their instincts.

However, it wasnʼt without trouble.

The children had a strong sense of individuality, thinking of themselves as being better than the others. Therefore, they head-butted each time when there was a problem, looking to solve it with fists rather than smarts.

Now he knew why these children were a handful.

He set them straight by spanking their asses but didnʼt go too far. He low-key signaled that he didnʼt want Azariel to do what he did to Aurelia, making Azariel almost cry on the spot. However, Davis quickly comforted him and advised him he should not be violent as a man to a woman, especially to his sisters.

”Azariel, you should not lose your edge. What you did was right. Aurelia did go too far in trying to control your actions, but she is saying them for your own good. You should listen to your elder siblings. However, if you feel that it isnʼt right, then you should use your words to convince your elder sister.”

”Hmm…”

Azariel stood while embracing Davis. He softly nodded, ”I will listen to Father.”

”Good child. You are my first son. I wonʼt say that you cannot disappoint me. You can always feel free to disappoint me since I can deal with it, but donʼt become something your mothers disapproves of. As a fey with the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Blood, your inclination towards violence is not low. So, I understand that you harmed Aurelia because of a momentary impulse. It was nothing but an accident, so donʼt worry. You will grow up to be a fine man and a powerful cultivator.”

”Hmm!”

Azariel gave a big nod as he smiled, causing Davis to lift him up in a body lock and tickle him to death.

”Hahahahahaah!”

Poor Azariel nearly fainted from laughing.

Davis continued to play with them.

At night, when their bodies were exhausted but their minds still eager, Davis shared stories of his own adventures. He spoke of the battles he fought, the mystical sights he had seen, and the powerful figures he encountered. Of course, he dumbed it down, suitable for children, and hyped himself up to be a hero shamelessly just to see them jump in excitement.

Each day, he recounted how he met their mothers and got to be with them, making the childrenʼs imaginations run wild. It had become a routine since the children would demand more.

”But Father,” Aurelia asked one night, her golden eyes shimmering in the dim light, ”Were you ever afraid?”

Davis paused for a moment, looking at his daughter. ”Of course.”

”…!”

His answer shocked the children.

Even their incredible father could be afraid?

Davis nodded with a soft smile, ”Many times, I have felt fear. But fear isnʼt a weakness. It is what molds you, so you need to do your best not to give into fear and face whatever comes your way with courage and valor.”

The children nodded solemnly, absorbing his words like they were sponges.

It wasnʼt an exaggeration to say that they registered whatever he said into their hearts. They might even recall it in the future when things might get difficult.

”Alright, itʼs time to sleep. As children, you pipsqueaks need to get a lot of sleep to grow healthily…”

”Ahhhh~”

The children made noises of disapproval, but Davis brought them away and slept together. He didnʼt know how much fun he had for the past few days. His heart was practically filled to the brim with warmth.

However, it wasnʼt without some saddening moments, as he got to see Lucian suffer from internal heat.

Originally, Iesha could treat him easily, and so could Pia, but Lucianʼs mother, Niera, didnʼt think it was right. If the ice spirits continued to suppress it, then how would Lucian be able to suppress his physique when he was all alone?

After Iesha got pregnant, Pia took over, but Pia would soon leave, and so would Iesha. They would leave with Natalya to go to the Frozen Wasteland Lower Realm. Therefore, Niera hardened her heart and decided.

So, with only some supplements and pills, Lucian had to endure the apocalyptic heat by himself.

Davis could see Lucian did keep his physique under control by himself. He felt that it was a wonderful thing and praised Lucian to no end, giving him all the encouragement he needed.

Eventually, the week passed in what felt like the blink of an eye.

The children were saddened.

”Eterna, Celestia.” Davis looked at the firstborn and secondborn.

”Azariel is still little, and Lucian needs time to control his physique. You have to take care of them, take care of your little siblings, and not just be obsessed with cultivation. As the eldest sisters, you have more responsibilities, but I doubt this gratitude will be returned since taking care of someone can be such an unrewarding job. Even so, can I depend on you two?”

”Hehe~ Father, youʼre thinking too much. Now that you asked me, let me take care of it~ʼ Eterna placed a hand on her hips and looked all confident.

On the other hand, Celestia cupped her hands, ”It would be done as you wish, Father.”

”Good children.” Davis heaved a sigh of relief as he smiled at them with gratification.

He asked the same thing from Azariel and Lucian secretly, telling them to act like big brothers and watch over their sisters, and they answered with the same enthusiasm and care.

He was indeed gratified.

However, he looked at them worried.

He didnʼt know when he would meet them again. Perhaps he could meet them when their timings coincide. However, he promised to meet them every month if he had the chance to come out of seclusion.
