Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4061  Nether Devil Race

”Is that so?”

Davis dryly chuckled before shaking his head, ”I went ahead and formed a covenant, restricting myself while knowing the consequences, but when itʼs time to face them, only you fairies were able to help me. This time around, the word fear was surely engraved in me. After all, even the babies were in danger.”

He exhaled all his worries and plopped down, caressing Nadiaʼs hand.

”Liar~” Myria giggled ever so lightly.

The whole time, they werenʼt in danger. She had Fallen Heavenʼs torn piece, and so did Davis, watching the entire thing through Evelynn while surely having Fallen Heaven ready to use after the tribulation was over.

The tribulation itself was never the problem. They were only careful of the terrifying lifeforms in the Nether Dimension.

Besides, the covenant only restricted him from stepping out from the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm. It didnʼt necessarily restrict him from using his powers on foreign land.

She was aware of rule two: Davis Loret is allowed to move freely within the realm where his current main hideout is but may not leave the realm for the duration of ten years.

This didnʼt restrict him from swinging his powers in other lands.

She felt the Celestial Transcendent failed to see that Davis was capable of causing mass destruction with Fallen Heaven. Even if he were to die, the Lower Realms definitely wouldnʼt be safe, at the very least.

”Also, from what I hear from Illumina, you almost broke rule three. You commanded her to kill whoever stepped out of the Nether Dimension, but if anyone below the Empyrean Stage had appeared, then it wouldʼve activated the covenant and shattered your soul.”

”…”

Davis pursed his lips. At that point, he intended to break the covenant or shield himself by using Fallen Heaven.

Although it wouldʼve exposed Fallen Heaven to the Celestial Transcendent, he didnʼt care at that point.

He shot a wry smile at Myria.

”Okay, fear might be exaggerating, but I surely felt vexed enough to blow things out of proportion since I wasnʼt able to help directly.”

”I thought so.” Myria exhaled lightly.

She feared that this mightʼve harmed his confidence, but it seemed like she was worried for nothing.

Davis turned to look at Nadia. His expression turned unamused, knowing this wasnʼt the time, but he felt the need to say it. He forcefully opened his mouth but kept his voice soft.

”Nadia, I wonʼt ask why you did what you did, but next time around, listen to me.”

”No…” Nadia looked away.

”You-” Davis was flabbergasted.

Nadia held the babies closely over her bosoms, kissing their heads as she ignored him.

Davis was flabbergasted but also amused. He didnʼt think it would be anytime soon that Nadia would disobey him as she always said yes to anything he said, but it seemed like becoming a mother changed her.

However, he was a bit confused. After all, if she considered her babies the foremost priority, why did she endanger them by heading into the Nether Dimension?

While Davis was thinking, Nadia suddenly spoke up.

”Stella already works hard enough. Iʼve been watching her the whole time, and she has repeatedly created shelters for us. To throw more burden on her would not only be infuriating but disrupting her cultivation.”

Nadia pursed her lips, seemingly pausing to think before she looked him in the eyes.

”This place is our home, and even if it isnʼt, we canʼt run away and re-establish every month. As a wild beast in the past, I know how difficult it is for the young ones. They will be left to die, and I donʼt want that to happen to my babies. Moreover, we will not be able to concentrate on cultivation and become powerful. Most importantly, we donʼt want to be separated from you while you get stuck in this realm for ten years. If we shifted to the other mini-realm, then we donʼt know if we will be able to make it to you or survive without you.”

Nadiaʼs lips quivered, her voice turning meek by the end, ”These little ones need their father. I wonʼt ever endanger everyoneʼs lives here, nor would I do that to the children, so going to the Nether Dimension was the only way. I was confident that I could protect the children and also trusted that the others could protect us if I failed, master~”

”Nadia…”

Davis didnʼt know what to say for a few seconds. It seemed like she had a lot to think about while being pregnant. After all, when she was with him, she was just a simpleton with sharp senses who followed him, but now, she was actually considering the overall situation of the family and making decisions on her own.

He suddenly understood that Nadia had indeed become a mother who forgoes herself in order to protect the babies and the family.

”If you believed in us, then you shouldʼve called us way before it was time.” Myria reached out her hand and pinched Nadiaʼs ear lightly.

”Ahh~” Nadia acted like it was hurting, ”I was sure that master wouldnʼt accept my request nor accept putting you all in danger. I didnʼt plan to lose either, so the only one who needed to be in real danger was me~ ow-ow~”

”You are not sorry, so a punishment is surely in place.” Myria raised her brows.

”Thank you for jumping into the tribulation, Myria. I wouldnʼt be alive to see these little ones if you had been one strike later.”

”Isnʼt that why Iʼm demanding a punishment for you?”

”Iʼm sowwy~”

Nadia whimpered. She knew she had done something bad, but the result was that the children were safe, and the realm was still not exposed. She was right in her mind, but in the end, she also endangered others, so she admitted she was wrong.

Meanwhile, Davis could only see how the calm and collected Nadia was full of emotions now.

ʼMotherhood sure is life-changing…ʼ

He had, time and time again, seen how his women changed after becoming mothers. He wouldnʼt be able to stop if he began explaining.

He touched his new babies a few times before standing up and looking at Evelynn and Isabella.

”Youʼre all fine, right?”

He took a step forward and held their arms, sending in waves of soul sense to find if there was anything wrong with them as they were hit by an aura from a powerful nether being.

”Weʼre fine.”

Evelynn replied, ”That Nether... Devil…? It was quite some distance away. It wasnʼt able to harm us.”

”That was a Level Seven Empyrean Stage Nether Devil.” Myria added and explained, ”Naturally, it doesnʼt cultivate the Immortal Path since the Nether Devil is its own race. However, judging by its prowess, it should be as strong as Autarch Elluro Coldwing or even more powerful. If it was half the distance closer, we mightʼve been forced to adopt some other methods to counter it.”

”…”

The others looked like they were absorbing the information while Nadia blinked.

She hadnʼt seen this so-called Nether Devil since she had been fully focusing on protecting the children, but it seemed like they had encountered something very dangerous. She held the babies closer, warming them up.

”What kind of race are they?” Davis asked.

”I donʼt know. I could only identify them because Iʼd heard rumors about their appearance in a few danger zones in the Upper Realms. They had dark purple skin, blood-red eyes, three horns on their heads, two bat-like wings twice the height of their body, devilish faces resembling that of a monster, and were able to use nether energy. They were called Nether Devils, and even the weakest member of that race was an Immortal King. Adults of that race would grow up to the Empyrean Stage as long as they ate and remained alive. Whenever they arrive, they cause havoc as they are hostile to almost everything they see. They are even seen in the Underworld, which is known as the Asura Dimension.”

”Ohh…” Davis and the others nodded their heads.

They had heard Myria mention the Asura Dimension when she was explaining about all the Dimensions she knew.

No one knew where the Asura Dimension was present, but it seemed its entrances could be found in the fringes of a Galaxy, particularly in the path that connects to other Galaxies.

Davis wondered if the Asura Dimensionʼs entrances appeared in the places where there was the most bloodshed, then the fact that these Nether Devils were there meant that they could be a bloodthirsty and savage race.

Myria continued, ”Well, there are nearly hundreds and thousands of races battling in the Asura Dimension. Most foreign races are described as savages who donʼt know civility. That Nether Devil sure didnʼt seem like it knew how to build a family and be peaceful, either. Nyoran might know more about them if she remembered some inherited memories after witnessing that devilʼs appearance. Her variance may prove to be useful once again.”

”Hmm.” Davis considered before he nodded, ”True. Her ability is beyond useful. We need to reward her again.”

”I thought you would be angry with her.” Myria raised her brows.

Since he couldnʼt take out his anger on Nadia, she felt that he wouldʼve directed it at Nyoran. She felt it wouldnʼt have been any strange if it already happened.

”Why would I?” Davis sighed, ”Sheʼs a valuable asset to our survival, and Nadia most likely forced or pleaded with her. Nyoran isnʼt the type to betray or arbitrarily do something without my knowledge. She was carefree but has become too reserved after experiencing hardship by her Queen Nadijaʼs side and has a firm sense of belonging to our family now.”

”…”

Davis said his thoughts, but what he received was silence.

”My Emperor~” Isabella added with a giggle, ”You can believe her, but if she holds such a huge key to our survival, then you should make her one of us. Only through that way can we believe her without having to doubt.”

”…” Davis went speechless.

Isabella continued, ”However, it isnʼt like we donʼt trust her. She aided Nadia in her delivery and was not afraid to face dangers in the Nether Dimension. That alone is worthy of praise and enough consideration for her to enter the harem.”

”How come it still comes down to that again?”

”Ahaha~”

Davis complained, causing the beauties to laugh.

”In any case,” Davis heaved a huge sigh, ”Iʼm glad youʼre all safe. I will assign powerful members to accompany Fioraʼs childbirth tribulation somewhere in the Ghostly Crow Lower Realm. We do not want to experience this again here or in the Nether Dimension, right?”

”Yes~”
