Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4086  Grand Karmic-Illusion Spirit Formation

The azure sky stretched across the horizons. There were no clouds, but the atmosphere was covered in an illusory veil.

Underneath this azure sky, four women stood on a mountain peak, their figures exuding grace. Each one radiated an aura that shook the air around them, even the space. They held their hands outwards, drawing innumerable spirit runes of immense, profound nature.

They were none other than Myria, Lereza, Illumina, and someone else who had joined their party, Zenova Artoria.

Almost all of their expressions appeared to be difficult, sweat pouring down their foreheads. There were hundreds and thousands of runes, as they had been doing this for a few days already. These spirit runes contained boundless power, which directly translated into illusion and karmic veil.

The illusion helped hide the area, and the karmic veil helped stop Mystic Diviners and other beings from detecting heavenly phenomena. The illusion was even stronger than when Illumina used her technique.

After all, these runes were connected with the karmic veil runes.

”Every karmic veil rune must be seamlessly woven with the illusion runes, or they will collapse.” Behind them, Tia spoke.

She had taught them the necessary karmic veil runes in order to create this formation although the other half was from Myria and Zenova. It seems that they were both proficient in setting up karmic veils at the very least, which meant they also knew how to make karmic attacks.

She didnʼt find it strange, considering both of them seemed to be erudite and had learned Space Laws and Karma Laws. Time Laws werenʼt as necessary as the other two for creating a karmic veil and learning karmic attacks.

It was only for divination that they needed all three.

Therefore, even learned warriors would be at least capable of karmic attacks.

While Tia was doing nothing other than instructing them because her cultivation was weak, Lereza flawlessly provided support, using her wood energy as a base to construct these runes. With Lerezaʼs power, these spirit runes were as tough as a High-Level Empyrean Grade material.

They could be easily broken. Myria and Zenova constantly carved the karmic veil runes and illusion runes on these wood energy runes. In other words, these wood energy runes acted as talisman paper.

Tia was honestly taken aback. Etching runes on talisman paper was what made Talisman Cultivators.

It was fine that Myria was capable of doing these things, but she also found it shocking that Zenova Artoria was capable of using this level of technique. Etching runes on talismans was considered difficult, but these two were doing it on Lerezaʼs wood rune. These wood runes were no different than an empty canvas capable of receiving runes.

Therefore, the level of focus and concentration this required was so enormous that it was deemed as a high-level technique even among the supreme geniuses of Talisman Cultivators, but these two were constantly producing thousands of runes and etching them into the wood energy rune every hour.

Tia felt that this was crazy, but she didnʼt disturb them with her curiosity.

She looked at Illumina and saw that she was also providing them with energy. What they were creating was a massive spirit formation, after all. It required a huge amount of energy, and only through Lereza and Illumina were they able to create it.

Otherwise, the spirit formation would be only at a Low-Level Empyrean Grade.

Time passed.

During this time, Illumina extracted her blood essence and strengthened the illusion runes. This made it so that even Late Stage Empyreans would lose their way if they entered here.

As for Andiron, he sacrificed thirty percent of his blood essence and removed and shed his outer shell, which was carved with numerous golden space and karmic runes. They appeared to resemble the starry sky like a constellation.

This shell formed the core of the formation. Although it was weak, it perfectly fit the formation they were making and created a huge array that blocked the senses of any lifeform, spanning over three billion kilometers.

As a result, they created a High-Level Empyrean Grade Karmic-Illusion Spirit Formation!

It was absolutely ridiculous!

Myria and the others were stunned that they managed to complete it.

It appeared to be- so far, so good.

The only thing left was to test if it could really hide them during tribulation.

”Finally, my turn~”

Vereina flew toward the mountain peak and giggled.

She had done nothing the whole time, so she felt ashamed, but since they were also using her as the test subject, that feeling was quickly gone.

”Not yet. Let us rest first.”

Myria waved her off, causing Vereina to almost miss the landing and fall off the cliff. She was instantly bummed out but understood and nodded wryly.

”Yes, of course. Youʼre all either too tired or injured. If the Heavenʼs Warriors were to attack us in full force, we would be gone without a doubt.”

”…”

Zenova remained silent. She looked around, wondering why she was helping them again. Although she exchanged a deal with Myria, it wasnʼt like she needed it as she already possessed three favors from Davis.

ʼCould it be that I actually want to see if this stupid family can actually survive together…?ʼ

She narrowed her brows, questioning her own sanity.

She was aware that she ruthlessly caused the death of some nobody who had nothing to do with her just a few days ago. She didnʼt think of herself as anything good, much less wish for strangers to have a better life than her, but now, she had gone out of her way to help these people?

She admitted that a part of her wanted to see Myria in action as she acknowledged her as a rival, and the other part also wanted to learn karmic techniques from Tia, which was part of the deal. After all, she had consumed the Nexus Triadveil Clover. If she didnʼt learn karmic techniques, what use was it?

However, she went back to her intention to help. She felt that it wasnʼt driven by benefits, which honestly irked her.

”Thank you, Zenova. Without your powerful and complex karmic veil runes, this wouldnʼt have been possible.”

Myriaʼs voice echoed out.

Zenova Artoriaʼs lips curled, ”No need to thank me. Iʼll collect interest when itʼs time. For now, I trust you to hold your end of the deal, Mystic Diviner Tia.”

”Of course~” Tia gleefully smiled.

”…”

It made Zenova a bit unamused. These people refused to give her a challenge, giving everything away. She had also learned a lot from creating this formation, so she had benefited a lot already. In her mind, they were the ones losing out.

Nonetheless, she couldnʼt believe this pipsqueak was this powerful. From Myriaʼs words, she was even younger than Davis. She wondered how the Loret Family or Alstreim Family could be so powerful enough to birth a few monsters.

She had met Claire once but still couldnʼt see what was special about her.

She was inclined to believe everything started with Davisʼs birth.

Nonetheless, they began to rest, and after recovering, Vereina finally began her heavenly tribulation.

It appeared to be a Destructive Heavenly Tribulation, so they breathed a sigh of relief.

However, it seemed to be way more powerful than how they thought it would be. Clearly, Vereina carried more karmic burden than one expected. Myria knew what it was as Vereina learned the existence of the Divine Exalt Stage, which brought her karmic burden.

Still, the tribulation wasnʼt a match for her.

She easily passed it.

*Boom!~*

Vereina successfully stepped into the Empyrean Stage. Her robe swayed in the breeze, and she looked like a goddess of the night. Without her soul physique already having reached the Empyrean Grade, she knew she wouldnʼt have been able to accomplish this.

ʼFinally, I wonʼt be bullied by that rascal...!ʼ She felt grateful and exhilarated.

”Letʼs go!”

Myria and the others were ready to move out.

They appeared at the safest edge and waited for Heavenʼs Warriors and other hunters to appear. At the slightest hint of them, they were ready to leave. This formation would be considered a failure by then.

However, even after they waited for an entire hour, no one came!

”It works… the karmic-illusion spirit formation we created actually hid a Destruction Heavenly Tribulation of an Empyrean…”

Tia shuddered. She was the one who gave the blueprint for the runes, but she was stunned beyond comparison. The others also werenʼt any different before they rejoiced.

They returned and saw that the core was out of energy. Almost forty percent of its energy was used up.

”I can restore it,” Andiron uttered with solemness.

He was a Patriarch and naturally knew of many things. He couldnʼt just restore runes on the shell. He had to use his blood essence again. He sacrificed five percent of his blood essence to the shell and poured more energy.

After finishing, he directly fainted.

”For heavenʼs sake, where do you get these resources and a fool?” Zenova Artoria frowned amusingly.

She remembered this turtle was the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch, but now, he was something else. How he achieved this variance and made this formation possible was beyond her, not to mention being able to use up his blood essence without hesitating the slightest, but at the same time, Myria was the one who put forth this plan, trusting Tia to come up with the runes, Lereza to come up with the canvas and Illumina to strengthen the illusion.

She could only imagine how erudite this woman truly was and was full of respect for her.

Nonetheless, she looked at the spirit formation and was also proud that she was a part of this creation. After all, she had never created a formation of this scale. That bridge formation couldnʼt even compare.

”How is it? Donʼt you want to be a part of this?”

”…”
