Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4085  Divine Oracle Palace

In a sacred palace, a fat golden-haired man appeared to have eaten an entire feast that stretched almost a kilometer long.

*Urrrrrrrrrp!~*

He burped loud and long without a hint of shame, lacking class, and once it ended, he heaved a long sigh and smiled satisfactorily. His eyes shone with a purple glint as he stood up and walked. Each step he took made his belly sway.

He made it all the way back to an isolated palace.

Once he entered, he gazed at the golden shell with interest. He looked at the divination he made for the fate of the Lower Realms. He continued looking at it, not moving his gaze for a long time until there was some disturbance outside.

”Hong, Iʼm here with my new disciple. Come out and hand over a gift.”

”Damn you!”

Divine Oracle Hong ran out of the isolated palace and the guards before looking at a man and a woman.

His expression was furious as he threw a finger at the Celestial Transcendent and growled.

”Fuck! I canʼt do this! This damned prophecy keeps changing every few freaking days or weeks. I canʼt keep up with this. At this rate, my life might end the next year! I donʼt want to die! I donʼt have a worthy successor yet!”

Terrifying undulations emerged from Divine Oracle Hong, causing the entire sacred palace to tremble. The people outside were all horrified, wondering who dared to offend the Divine Oracle. They all went on their knees right at the place they were standing, not moving an inch.

The Celestial Transcendent didnʼt seem to be taken aback.

With a smile, he slightly held a barrier on the purple-robed woman beside him, protecting her from the terrifying undulations and aura that may have caused her to be pressured.

Hearing what Divine Oracle Hong said, he sighed lightly.

”Donʼt worry. You can stop from now.”

”Ah! Iʼm going to drop dead at this rate. Maybe even the next day- wait, what?”

Divine Oracle Hong suddenly went confused. He blinked at the Celestial Transcendent with disbelief in his eyes, not daring to believe what the Celestial Transcendent said.

The Celestial Transcendent had never given up hunting the Divergents he had his eyes on so soon. His kill rate was over ninety percent, the highest among Divergent Hunters, so how come he was told to stop?

”Could it be that you killed the Divine Emperor of Death already?”

”…”

The Celestial Transcendent was going to reply, but he paused, casting a side eye at the woman beside him. Her expression couldnʼt be any more indifferent, but he could tell she was hiding the quake in her heart.

He smilingly shook his head, ”Unfortunately, that lad has a tough life. I got ambushed by one of his people, and now I have no choice but to let him go for a hundred years.”

”…!”

Divine Oracle Hong jumped, his belly jiggling heavily.

”You- you got done in by a junior…? Pfft… Ahahaha!”

Divine Oracle Hong pointed at the Celestial Transcendent and began rolling around the ground, ”Hahaha! This is hilarious!”

He banged the surface with his fists, causing the sacred palace to shake.

”…”

The Celestial Transcendent brought his hand to his face, wondering why he even revealed this info to this fatty. Fortunately, he sealed the surroundings with an energy barrier so no one would hear their conversation.

It wasnʼt exactly an embarrassment for him, but he chose not to reveal this information at this moment because it would discourage the hunters and make the Divine Emperor of Death look even more cunning and dangerous.

Even the supreme geniuses who might want to try to match wits with the Divine Emperor of Death might flee if they heard that the Celestial Transcendent was done in.

Nonetheless, he cast a side glance and saw the smirk quickly escape from the purple-robed womanʼs lips.

”You donʼt have to act in front of me, you know, Clara.”

The Celestial Transcendent chuckled at his disciple before looking at Divine Oracle Hong again.

”Now take a look at my disciple and tell me what I asked you that day.”

Divine Oracle Hong stood up and turned solemn. He looked at the purple-robed woman whose face was veiled. He could see that she was an exquisite beauty, but what beauty hadnʼt he met? He scanned her undulations and could tell what cultivation she was in.

”You reached Level Nine Immortal Emperor Stage already? The density of your undulations puts you at the level of supreme geniuses. Thatʼs not bad for the younger sister of that menace, but should your master really be putting you in a time chamber? Itʼs not good for cultivation as it might leave temporal sequela and give you more karmic burden from the universe, making your tribulations extra harder.”

”I asked him myself.” A cold yet melodious voice echoed from Clara.

She extended her hand and made a small cut on her index finger with the nail of her thumb finger, ”You need my blood essence, right?”

She condensed her blood essence right before them and sent it flying toward Divine Oracle Hong.

Divine Oracle Hong didnʼt say anything and stored that blood essence in a jade container. He gazed at Clara with a gaze full of approval. He could see that there was no hesitance in her eyes. She was full of determination for whatever it was she was going to do in the future. If not, she wouldnʼt have been so brave enough to hand over her blood essence just like that.

After all, just who was he? He was Divine Oracle Hong, a Daedalian Karmic Turtle. Divination wasnʼt the only karmic art he knew.

For Clara to give him her blood essence just like that, he could tell that she knew her future was going to be divined, and the master-disciple relationship she shared with the Celestial Transcendent wasnʼt anything ordinary or even peaceful.

Divine Oracle Hong couldnʼt help but sigh, wondering what kind of fate awaited this too.

”Wait for some time. As for the gift, Iʼll send it later.”

He turned around and walked back into his isolated palace.

The Celestial Transcendent and Clara waited, still standing.

”Can Divine Oracle Hong really divine the fates of anarchic beings constantly without losing his life?”

”He can. He loses his lifespan for every single divination he makes, but it differs depending on how much influence that particular character, object, place, or time has on the flow of fate in direct correlation with the universe. Even this time, whenever he divined your brother, he loses a lot of lifespan, but heʼs just making a scene. His lifespan is truly tremendous, one of the biggest Iʼve seen. Itʼs almost endless, but considering the number of divinations he made from time immemorial, he shouldʼve lost a significant portion. Iʼm truly indebted to him.”

The Celestial Transcendent couldnʼt help but smile, ”In any case, heʼs not directly divining the Divine Emperor of Death. Thereʼs no direct karmic item that belongs to your big brother for him to divine, so he can only divine the fate of the Lower Realms. As expected, your big brother is really a huge calamity for him to repeatedly show up there. Even then, Hongʼs complaining this much, so I can tell heʼs losing a lot of lifespan. If he directly divined your brother, he would probably break down and kick up a huge storm demanding compensation from me.”

He chuckled, ”Nevertheless, no one else should be privy to his findings, and he canʼt say anything other than give vague hints. The dangerous the divination, the vaguer it needs to be, or a Divine Punishment Tribulation would descend upon him and end his life.”

”…” Claraʼs gaze shook.

She calmed the tremor in her heart, ”Is it the same for me?”

”Probably.” The Celestial Transcendent answered vaguely.

Clara went silent.

Once she was in the Greater Realm, she could see the vast world with her own eyes. Here, even Immortal Emperors were like roadside cultivators, making her inwardly sigh.

Of course, it didnʼt mean the street was full of Immortal Emperors. It was just that there were too many to bother counting. They all more or less joined the war and went to shed their lives for the human race or become true warriors on the battlefield.

The same went for Empyreans but in a lesser factor than Immortal Emperors.

She felt she should hurry more.

Sometime later, Divine Oracle Hong walked out and stood before them.

His expression was grim.

*Pui!~*

He coughed out blood like a jet spray and flew back.

”…”

The Celestial Transcendent and Clara turned speechless. He hadnʼt even said anything, but the backlash had already hit him?

Without saying anything, he turned around to leave and gestured for Clara to follow.

”Forget the gift. Letʼs leave before he demands compensation.”

”…” Clara turned speechless.

The Celestial Transcendent might be chuckling, but he was worried about his friend.

Divine Oracle Hongʼs expression more or less told him what he needed to know. This direct divination truly had dire consequences, all because they would more or less clash in the future.
