Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4067  Myriaʼs Immortal Emperor Tribulation

A few minutes before Myriaʼs Immortal Emperor Tribulation began.

”Congratulations on entering the Empyrean Stage, Lereza. Iʼm glad I could see you undergo the Empyrean Tribulation. It was a learning experience for me, especially being able to witness the Heavenly Space-Time Tribulation.”

Vereina came forward and cupped her hands towards one of the perfect spirit-magical beast fey beings she had ever seen.

Her eyes glowed with respect as she looked at Lereza.

This woman was neither an Empress nor a Queen. She was merely a fey between a spirit and a magical beast, and yet, her prowess was already that of an extremely powerful Emperor-Tier Beast, reaching ten levels higher!

Of course, she knew about the existence of the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill and knew it was diluted enough to give Lereza a boost of two levels in the Immortal Emperor Stage. This meant that her prowess alone was eight levels higher, and that matched Nadia was an Emperor-Tier Beast.

After Lereza entered the Empyrean Stage, her prowess naturally dropped. However, she was still powerful enough to take on Late Stage Empyreans. That made her shudder.

It made Vereina wonder what kind of spirit bloodline Lereza had inherited, and she couldnʼt help but ask.

”Oh, my parents, uh?”

Lereza sighed ever so lightly, her expression deflating, ”I was born between a Floral Dragon mother and a Celestial Wood Spirit father.”

”Oh…” Vereina nodded.

She knew about the Floral Dragon. It was not a main type of dragon species like the Earth Dragon and Fire Dragon. Instead, it was like the Infernal Scorchblaze Hydragon, a species created during mixing, but the Floral Dragon retained their dragon blood quite well, like the Ice Phoenix, which was a mix of Fire Phoenix and Blue Luan. The bloodline purity was almost enough to put them on par with dragons like the Earth Dragon and the Fire Dragon.

However, it was a pity that they were a weaker species and were said to have gone extinct.

Vereina felt that it was a pity, but she still couldnʼt understand something.

”Hmm… strange… I have read the Heaven-Tier Wood Spirit Charts, even the Empyrean Grade, but I have never heard of a Celestial Wood Spirit.”

”Thatʼs not strange. My spirit bloodline is above Heaven-Tier.”

”…” Vereinaʼs jaw dropped.

”I have no bloodline limitations.”

”…” Vereinaʼs jaw hit the floor.

She had fallen.

Lereza silently giggled as she enjoyed her reaction before shaking her head, ”Sorry, Iʼm kidding. I indeed have bloodline limitations, but since I can reach the next stage after the Empyrean Stage due to my spirit bloodline, the magical beast bloodline doesnʼt interfere. The Floral Dragon is a weak Great Saint Magical Beast amongst the dragons, but the Celestial Wood Spirit Race is said to be extremely powerful. They can enter the next stage after the Empyrean Stage.”

Vereina stood up slowly, looking at Lereza with a dumbfounded yet renewed expression.

She had such an origin yet was willing to be a palace spirit. She could go even higher. Vereina couldnʼt understand what was binding her.

”Wh-Where are your parents?” She couldnʼt help but blurt out.

”…” Lerezaʼs expression sank.

”Ah, itʼs fine if you donʼt want-”

”Dead.” Lereza responded, her voice grim, ”Hunted down for their precious resources. You will never see a Celestial Wood Spirit in the Lower Realms, but my father did enter. The Floral Dragon is also rare; its materials are used for exotic things. Both are considered extinct species because of their incredibly low numbers, never appearing in public spaces, but together, some greedy beings took the initiative to hunt them down. I barely survived, thanks to elder sister Myria.”

”… Iʼm sorry.” Vereina lowered her head.

She barely touched Lerezaʼs shoulder to comfort her as she knew what exactly it was like to lose loved ones.

”You donʼt have to be.” Lereza shook her head, ”Itʼs all in the past. I know my father and mother loved me and wanted me to live well so I wouldnʼt be fixated on obtaining revenge. I donʼt even know who they are. Maybe elder sister Myria had already killed them all, as back then, she was no different than a fiend, but in my eyes, she was a shining savior. However, if I find they are still alive, maybe then I will exact my revenge on them.”

”But as you can see— the universe is a big place. Just traversing a single realm takes so much time. Thereʼs no way we can scour everything.”

”Maybe we can pinpoint it if you know which realm you lived in,” Vereina suggested with concern.

In her mind, revenge was good. The sweet feeling of accomplishment and release it gave her was plenty and allowed her to look past the tragedy. However, she was soon caught by Davis as soon as she ascended. She pouted, remembering it as a stain in her life, but her lips curled. She now found it to be bringing her fondness.

”I was just a child. Most people who never went out of their forest or town wouldnʼt even know the nearby city, much less the realm theyʼre living in.”

”But then… how…” Vereina asked hesitantly before shaking her head.

She realized she got ahead of herself and asked too many questions as though they were friends.

Lereza didnʼt say anything. She kept a smile, remembering the World Master who picked her up and gave her an opportunity to repay the gratitude Myria had shown her. Of course, she knew the World Master had her own motives, but all she wanted was to save Myria from being a fiend.

But it seemed like Davis already saved her, which made her initially fume, but she eventually accepted it.

”Oh, itʼs starting…”

Lereza uttered, and Vereina turned to look. She saw Myria ascend from being seated in a lotus position. Her body glowed with the light of life before bursting into a pitch-black form of energy, her energy overflowing to make a breakthrough and bring down the tribulation.

*RUMBLE!~~~*

A terrifying thunderous sound resounded across the plains, and thousands of dark crimson clouds spread extremely fast across the skies. They surpassed the range of Lerezaʼs Empyrean Tribulation easily and kept going without an end in sight.

It reached the ninety million kilometer mark instantly. However, there was no inkling of it stopping. In fact, its speed of expansion was tremendous.

”…”

Lereza, Vereina, and Illumina took a deep breath as they found it hard to breathe under this annihilative aura.

They were around fifty kilometers away from Myria. They didnʼt know what the exact range was that considered if they were interfering with the tribulation, but they sure knew it wasnʼt exactly okay to remain close. They watched from afar, and their expressions faltered as they saw it extend beyond the ninety million kilometer mark.

They have been told what it means.

”Illumina, cover all directions. I will stand before the capital. Vereina, stay here and escape with Myria after the tribulation finishes.”

”Okay~”

Vereina was slightly panicked. She wished she had entered the Empyrean Stage.

With Davisʼs help, after torturing and killing that elder who was harassing her in the Voidshade Chasm, she also obtained a suitable cultivation method and spent her days finding it was truly compatible, and she was overjoyed to find it good for her circulation. However, it seemed like she might die without needing to use it.

She looked towards the distance to find the tribulation clouds filling the horizon. Her eyes could perceive beyond no more, making her feel dread as she knew the mirage would be useless at this point. The others had also come to the same conclusion.

Illuminaʼs expression was grim.

It was her first time seeing a tribulation of this level, and she was barely able to control the tremble even as an Empyrean Beast with an alarming prowess. She couldnʼt believe her master went through such a tribulation and survived. Her respect towards him grew more and more. As she admired him in her heart, she split into three Illuminasʼ.

The two Illuminasʼ beside her split into four Illuminasʼ.

The four Illuminasʼ beside her split into eight Illuminasʼ!

She split all the way up thirty-two illusory clones and surrounded them as she aligned herself over a fifty-kilometer radius in a circle as she defended from all directions, ready to stop those who wished to kill Myria.

Each of her clones only had a percentage of her strength, but they were all still at the Empyrean Stage, able to take care of Mid-Stage Empyreans with ease.

With thirty-two illusory clones, Illumina retained sixty-eight percent of her strength. She hadnʼt weakened at all since it was only her energy that was sapped and not her prowess.

She guarded the other side from the capital, watching out for unexpected attacks.
