Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4050  The Foremost Reason?

”…”

The Celestial Transcendent frowned. It didnʼt seem like they got his intentions properly. Were they thinking of using their lives in exchange for the Divine Emperor of Deathʼs life? He doubted it would work.

He shook his head.

”I will be leaving soon. Focus all your attention on what you need to do since I eliminated the Spatial Collapse Divergent and Realm Corrosion Divergent in the past seven days. The other Divergents we may know of who, other than the ones who helped him in the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Minor Realm, are also most likely allied with him, so be careful.”

”…”

The Heavenʼs Warriors all possessed a dumbfounded expression.

Those two evil Divergents have been killed?

Before they could ask, the Supreme One had already disappeared.

”What do we need to do?”

”Venerable Elders, what do we need to do?”

The few Heavenʼs Warriors who were confused couldnʼt help but ask.

Everyone turned to look at Empyrean Miller Skyrend. He felt like he was put in a spot, but considering that he faced the Divine Emperor of Death one-on-one and barely managed to survive, he could understand their expectations.

He sighed and answered, ”Most likely, the Supreme One wishes to use this chance for us to grow as individuals and increase our flexibility in dealing with Divergents. Those Divergents are no longer the same. Theyʼre teaming up and killing us one after another in the shadows. The Upper Realms have already started to witness mass killings from the Heavenly Blight Hall and other Anarchic Divergents, and the Greater Realm is embroiled in a war against other Greater Realms. Therefore, to deal with an unkillable and terrifying foe, the Supreme One has restricted the Divine Emperor of Death for over a hundred years from entering the Upper Realms and, at the same time, wishes to delay his cultivation so ten years down the line, he could sever his head himself.”

”…!”

Did the Supreme One reach a conclusion that none of them would be able to kill the Divine Emperor of Death?

So what did they need to do? Use harassment tactics? They, the proud Heavenʼs Warriors, use harassment tactics?

Is this what the Supreme One meant by flexibility?

”Of course, these are only my thoughts. A lowly person like me canʼt figure out what is going on in the Supreme Oneʼs head.”

Empyrean Miller Skyrend heaved a huge sigh, ”Now that there is the covenant, we canʼt die in his hands, or he dies, so use it to our advantage and delay his cultivation however we can. If you have that unforeseen opportunity, end him. To that end, we first have to find him, and I and the other elders have called for supreme genius Mystic Diviners. They wonʼt die since they wonʼt directly divine his location, but we should be able to obtain his whereabouts in two or three months or even earlier.”

”Woah!”

Everyone looked excited.

As long as they knew his location, they were confident that they could never let him cultivate, and if he went as far as to kill them, then he would die without a doubt. At that time, whoever died could feel proud for bringing down an Anarchic Divergent of that level.

After the meeting ended, they scrambled to search for his whereabouts.

A few days later, the Celestial Transcendent, who was in the Greater Realm, eventually got word of his actions in the Lower Realms. The distance was too far for the avatar to relay information to him, after all.

Nonetheless, he couldnʼt help but smile and turn to look towards a room.

”Did we manage to stop tens of Lower Realms from being destroyed?”

There was no reply for a while before an annoyed voice sounded.

”We donʼt know if the prophecy has failed to come true, but the words donʼt sound nasty anymore for sure.”

”I see. Thatʼs at least reassuring to hear, Divine Oracle Hong.”

”Hmph! You only come to me when thereʼs an Anarchic Divergent making trouble. Do you even see me as your friend? Get in, and letʼs share some wine.”

”No way. Are you trying to get me karmic-burdened from witnessing a prophecy of that anarchic nature? If anyone else sees or hears it other than you, then theyʼre going blind at the very least, and worse, all their ninety-nine generations are cursed to come. Youʼre a Daedalian Guardian Turtle, for heavenʼs sake. At least keep up your appearances. Youʼre always getting drunk and producing offspring. Even if itʼs your lifeʼs goal, I canʼt help but look down on you for having so many unrefined relationships.”

”Aye.” Divine Oracle Hong sighed, ”How many years has it been? I have yet to produce a worthy heir to the Divine Oracle Temple even though I have over two hundred thousand children. There was not a single Daedalian Guardian Turtle born, and Iʼm getting old. My lifespan is slowly ticking away with each prophecy I make. What great Divine Oracle? What great Karmic Guardian of the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy? Peh! I canʼt produce a single worthy heir. Iʼm unworthy in the eyes of the heavens!”

”…”

The Celestial Transcendent awkwardly smiled and retreated. It seemed like he had touched a reverse scale. In his perspective, for Hong to not bear another Daedalian Guardian Turtle was extremely common. He didnʼt think it had anything to do with his virility.

”Uhm, before I leave, can you tell me the prophecy regarding the state of the Celes-”

”Scram!”

A furious voice bellowed, and it knocked out the guards two layers behind the gates on the other side, causing the Celestial Transcendent to smile wryly.

”Iʼll come again, buddy. Make sure youʼre in a sober state when I visit again. This time, Iʼll introduce you to my disciple. Be respectful to her and divine her life. Her fate should be as obscure as an anarchic entity, but thereʼs no need to be worried since you donʼt need to tell anyone, not me or anyone else. All you have to say is whether it is good or bad for me and keep it a secret.”

”…?”

Divine Oracle Hong suddenly went silent.

”What do you mean?” He asked after some time, but the Celestial Transcendent was no longer there.
