Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4014  From A Worm To A Finger

The white-robed man was traveling extremely fast without stopping. Although his speed didnʼt reach full throttle, it seemed like his energy was endless. In fact, the surrounding heaven and earth energy all threw themselves at him, wanting to be used by him. His rate of absorption was clearly higher than that of any ordinary cultivator. Even magical beasts and spirits would pale in comparison.

”Hmm?”

Suddenly, the white-robed man noticed something as he looked down.

His brows adopted a frown before he looked into the distance again. He seemed to have gone silent before he sighed.

”Itʼs not like Iʼm dealing with an evil being. One or two delays shouldnʼt make a difference…”

He descended from hundreds of thousands of kilometers in the sky.

On the ground, there seemed to be an elderly man whose carriage had tipped over from a blockade. A lot of precious goods were spilled. He appeared to be a merchant, but at this moment, he was kneeling and kowtowing to a bunch of people who didnʼt look quite refined.

They appeared to be bandits, their weapons sharp and cruel, carrying a bloody aura.

”Whoʼs there?”

Suddenly, the bandit leader looked towards the side and noticed a white-robed man with a conical hat on top of his head.

His expression flared, and he instantly went into fight-or-flight mode, waving his sword at the white-robed man.

”Name yourself!”

”Calm down, fellow cultivators. It isnʼt like killing the merchant is going to do you any good. You have the spoils, so why not spare him?”

”Oh…” The bandit leader blinked, ”That seems like a… great idea. Yeah… why not spare him?”

He kept nodding before he looked at the merchant, ”You can leave, but the spoils are ours.”

”Many thanks, fellow cultivators!”

”Many thanks, benefactor!”

The old man turned to look at the white-robed man and kowtowed, but the white-robed man was no longer there. The old man raised his head and looked around but couldnʼt find him. Eventually, he left in the emptied carriage without saying a word. Strangely enough, the bandits also seemed disinterested in taking care of the old merchant after the white-robed man left.

After all, bandits might say one thing but do another after the danger left.

However, it was as though they were put under a spell. They wanted to listen to his words, even seeming the white-robed in the light of an elder brother. The bandits took their spoils and left, and the old merchant chided the bodyguards who returned after escaping from the bandits.

In this encounter, the only thing lost was wealth.

*Whoosh!~*

The white-robed man was already hundreds and thousands of kilometers away. However, every few regions, he couldnʼt help himself and unwittingly descended to solve a problem or two.

Most of the time, it was resolved without any issues. He suppressed an uprising fueled by hatred and anger and gave them peace of mind that made them able to communicate. He suppressed a magical beast tide by making the region flourish. He saved a child from falling into a cliff.

No matter where he went, there was something that caught his attention.

However, it wasnʼt like everything was resolved peacefully. Sometimes, he had no choice but to end some lives, those who were too deep to draw back and step into the light.

Even then, all it took him was five days to reach the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm and investigate the Great Desolate Plains.

He heard that the number of Heavenʼs Warriors in this realm had reached a glaring eight thousand. The entire realm was on lockdown, and he got caught when he arrived near Border Town. It was not that he couldnʼt conceal himself, but he was here and needed to do his part.

”Supreme One! Itʼs been nine days since we lost contact with Autarch Elluro Coldwing. Many died, but there are still around a thousand survivors, all Immortal Emperors and Sovereigns. We suspect that the Divine Emperor of Death has them all!”

”I see.”

The Celestial Transcendent acknowledged the man who was giving the report with a nod. He was already aware the Divine Emperor of Death killed a lot of Heavenʼs Warriors and took the other half away somewhere. The rumor had spread far and wide, eliciting huge waves of uproar among the populace and the rulers.

Everyone now feared him. To have even defeated Autarch Elluro Coldwing, the realms have increased the Divine Emperor of Deathʼs threat to the peak of a Realm Calamity.

As for the Heavenʼs Warriors, he kidnapped, it was unknown if he was torturing them or treating them as hostages.

”What should we do, O Supreme One!?”

The Heavenʼs Warriors all gathered around him as he investigated the Great Desolate Plains and reached the same result as the others.

There was no trace left to track the Divine Emperor of Death. Even if there was some trace, it was all long gone. The terrain had changed already from the nightly winds and sandstorms burying the area. It was difficult to find a remnant aura that was buried inside. Besides, the remnant aura wasnʼt alone enough to track.

The Celestial Transcendent didnʼt reply.

Instead, he looked into the distance, waiting for something.

Something did pop out in the distance, burrowing out of the sand.

It was a worm. A jade-green sandworm with a lot of spikes on its body, the Emerald Spike Sandworm.

It only seemed to be a juvenile, but once it appeared, no one bothered. The magical beasts usually wouldnʼt attack someone with a heavenly aura, and feral beasts instinctively knew not to attack powerful people as their instincts knew better.

There were around eight thousand mighty warriors here. Even if the regional beasts came out, they would soon flee.

But this worm— it stared at the Celestial Transcendent before puking.

*Blehh~*

It vomited out a lot of its juices inside its body, along with meat and sand. However, among the hand, there was a tiny piece of finger.

The finger abruptly shot up and emitted glaring undulations before it ruptured and coalesced.

”…!”

The Heavenʼs Warriors reacted, looking to leap forward to eradicate it, but the Celestial Transcendent raised his hand, causing everyone to stop moving.

In the next second, the coalesced blood turned into a tiny human the size of a finger. It really was tiny— so much so the user himself felt embarrassed as he checked his body,

”Maybe I shouldʼve cut off an entire arm to make a scab avatar. Hehem~”

Davis coughed, ”But against you, the little the essence, the less chances you could trace me back. Itʼs a pleasure to meet you, Celestial Transcendent.”

He cupped his hands towards the white-robed man, who couldnʼt help but appear amused by the entire situation, barely hiding a smile.
