Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4006  The Haremʼs Standpoint

Lea returned her gaze to him, her demeanor more formal and respectful.

”Because Illumina is missing from the auction of the Opulent Shell Company, the Lunarisse Empireʼs remnants are surrounded, so we wonʼt be able to go there. They didnʼt believe Taiwuʼs excuse of selling it to a close friend who wished to remain anonymous. Of course, his son Reiwuʼs disappearance was also questioned, but Taiwu gave the excuse that his close friend also took him away to discipline him. The populace was joyous when they heard that Reiwu was gone, but the Heavenʼs Warriors and other hunters didnʼt fully believe him. Hence, they surrounded the Lunarisse Empireʼs ruins.”

”So we wonʼt be able to visit the Treasury for the time being now, huh…” Davis pursed his lips before he nodded, ”That works too. Finally, some free time until the Celestial Transcendent shows up…”

He stretched his body before wrapping his arm around Stella again. She remained cuddly as a cat.

”Thatʼs true.” Lea smiled.

She gazed at Stella, not feeling the slightest bit of jealousy. Instead, she could only feel thankful for the number of times she helped them survive. However, there was one point she was uncomfortable with.

”Vereina still hasnʼt woken up yet?”

”Yes, sheʼs resting…” Davis nodded. He explained what happened after Lea left.

It had been two days since they returned from the Voidshade Chasm, and there had been no sign of the Celestial Transcendent yet. Vereina also hadnʼt woken up.

Davis occasionally checked her and saw that it wasnʼt anything bad. Her soul was just getting used to her improved soul physique after getting ruptured, so it became a form of tempering process. She was just resting and recuperating from the exhaustion of getting possessed, which mightʼve left a mental scar.

On the other hand, Tia and Hailac were also sleeping. They woke up, but they still felt lethargic, so after he treated them to some refreshments, he insisted that they sleep again.

He kissed Tia goodnight and praised Hailac. The both of them were more than willing to listen to him.

As much as an immortal doesnʼt need to sleep for a long time, it was a luxurious yet easy way to restore psyche and a lot of mental functions. Even the rate of soul force thatʼs restoring wouldʼve increased by two or more times depending on the type of sleep they got.

After they slept, he stared at Tiaʼs sleeping face, looking at her fondly.

This woman made her feelings bare, but she never went as far as to demand that he take her right now. He wondered if she was being considerate since he had other women to take care of, like Aila, Mira, and Yotan, whom he still hadnʼt taken yet.

She was patiently waiting for him. The way she cared about him was endearing, making him feel intense love for her. He knew he would do anything for this woman, even without having a physical relationship with her.

Nonetheless, he didnʼt go as far as to say what he felt for Tia to Lea. Once he was done, Lea nodded.

”I see. About Vereina, is she a virgin?” This time, Lea was straightforward.

”…”

Davis blinked before he shrugged, ”I donʼt know, but I think so with how she carries herself.”

”I told her to stay away from you, but she went too far.” Leaʼs brows furrowed, ”I donʼt care what kind of benefits she can bring for you, but if she has embraced another man in her past, I think it is better to leave the kiss as an everlasting memory, as she said. I will not allow her to come near you anymore.”

”I havenʼt even told I would be taking her yet…” Davisʼs lips parted as he heard Leaʼs stern comments.

He naturally couldnʼt keep quiet about what happened between him and Vereina after he saved her, so he told Lea everything. As a husband to many wives, it was his responsibility to inform his relations with other women. Otherwise, it would be seen as cheating.

Because polygamy was the norm, the dynamics of what would be considered cheating were different.

”Iʼm sure you would. You took Sophie because of a kiss that was full of longing. Did you forget?”

”…” Davis lowered his head.

He wanted to say that he had not locked his heart at that time, and this time was different, but what was the point of making excuses?

Because Vereina stole a kiss, he felt like he did something bad to his wives. He didnʼt blame Vereina for it since her burst of feelings at that time were also understandable. Therefore, he could only lower his head and accept their rebukes. However, Lea didnʼt rebuke him, nor did she deny him the chance to see Vereina.

However, she took a stand, not willing to accept Vereina if she had slept with another man in the past.

No one knew Vereinaʼs past truly. She was also a person who would lie for the sake of survival, so he could understand why Lea would be extra careful of her.

”If you want to have Illumina, I will gladly concede. Even Shirley and Mingzhi like her. But we donʼt know about Vereina, and until it is made clear that she has remained chaste in body and soul for her future husband, it is the decision of the Harem Council that you are not to be intimate with women of that nature. I will represent the Harem Council during this journey and make sure you donʼt fall for any dirty tricks any of these women may use on you. As your wives, please let us protect you from temptation.”

Lea spoke firmly and, in the end, pleaded with a soft gaze.

”…”

Davis was speechless.

It was true the Harem Council met many times. He didnʼt know what they did exactly, but it was their space, so he didnʼt want to intrude, but it seemed like they had banned him from being intimate with non-virgins. He wasnʼt against this decision either since he never had a physical relationship with a non-virgin and, most importantly, knew introducing an uncommon element into the harem would have steep consequences.

He had even seen their faces turn into one of disgust if they saw a slut-like attitude in a woman, so this decision wasnʼt exactly a surprise to him.

However, what if Vereina was one…? He didnʼt think she was a non-virgin, but what if she was?

She was on the wicked path without much of a backing. It wasnʼt exactly a good environment, and people were open about a few things, especially sexual favors. She may have had to do some dubious things to survive, even if it was just sucking a yang pole to escape a difficult situation. It went beyond whether one was a virgin or not. It spoke of character, and sometimes, it wasnʼt even character but just purely survival.

He was sure that was what Lea was speaking about.

”Iʼll listen to you, Lea.” Davis smiled lightly, ”But know that Iʼm still undecided on Vereina. I have to talk to her first but sheʼs still sleeping. Furthermore, we have to deal with the Celestial Transcendent first.”

”Mhm~” Lea smilingly nodded as she saw him remain pragmatic, ”I love you, husband~ I would do anything for you, but in this scenario, you would have to listen to us. I donʼt want to call another woman who has embraced another man my fellow sister. The very thought of it makes me-”

”I understand.” Davis didnʼt let her continue. He firmly nodded.

”But… what are you doing giving Illumina strange ideas…?” He suddenly sent a soul transmission to her.

”…”

Lea blinked. She gave Illumina a side eye and saw that her long bunny ears drooped, hiding her face. But from her side, she could see that her cheeks were red.
