Chapter 491: The Long Awaited Reunion of Husband and Wife

”Sister Kushina, why are you here?”

Kenichi smiled as he poured Kushina a cup of tea, then asked with some curiosity.

He had been busy with research recently. He had not expected Kushina to come looking for him so quickly.

Naturally, Kenichi had to meet Kushina.

After all, Kushina had contributed greatly to the field of sealing ninjutsu. Many sealing techniques had come from her contributions.

Moreover, Kushina had taken good care of him in the past.

Although Kushina’s intention back then had been to help Kakashi quickly overcome the trauma of killing his comrade, it was undeniably one of the rare warm memories Kenichi had from that period.

”That... Mr. Amamiya...”

Kushina was a little reserved.

She knew very well what kind of person the man sitting in front of her and drinking tea was.

He had become the most powerful and influential person in the entire Shinobi World, even more powerful than her husband, Minato.

So, naturally, she felt a little restrained.

Kenichi clicked his tongue.

This was the downside of having high status.

Although power was intoxicating, Kenichi himself did not have such thoughts. He did not particularly value power.

However, as his status continued to rise, it became increasingly difficult to expect others to treat him normally.

”Sister Kushina, you can just call me Kenichi.”

Kenichi felt somewhat exasperated.

He really was not used to this special treatment.

”Ah, then Kenichi, I want to ask... about Minato. Can he...?”

Kushina could not help asking.

Kenichi was stunned for a moment.

Then he hesitated, not immediately answering Kushina’s question.

Kenichi was also somewhat conflicted about her request.

He had indeed said before that he would revive Minato, but a small problem had appeared.

That problem was the matter involving Jiraiya, the disciple of the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.

There was no need to explain the relationship between Jiraiya and Minato.

Jiraiya was Minato’s teacher.

The fact that Minato had named Naruto after the inspiration from his teacher’s book was enough to show how important Jiraiya was to Minato.

However, Jiraiya had now died by Kenichi’s hand.

This left Kenichi uncertain about how to explain these things to Minato.

Because of that, he had not used Edo Tensei on Minato since then.

But he could not keep delaying it forever.

”I understand, Sister Kushina. Please come back this afternoon.”

Kenichi finally decided to use Edo Tensei on Minato first, then see Minato’s opinion.

In any case, the Shinobi World had already been unified.

Minato was no longer that important to Kenichi.

Reviving him was only to fulfill a promise he had once made to Naruto.

”Okay.”

Kushina hesitated for a moment.

She also wanted to ask about Fugaku, but she was worried that doing so might displease Kenichi.

However, thinking of Mikoto’s bitterness, she decided to ask anyway.

”Uchiha Fugaku? That’s fine, but there won’t be a next time.”

Kenichi glanced at Kushina.

He knew why Kushina had said that.

It could only be for Mikoto.

Kenichi did not mind helping, but he also knew that this matter could not become a precedent.

Otherwise, he would not be able to do anything else. He would spend every day busy reviving people.

After all, every person had regrets and people they wished to revive.

Not to mention, even in harmonious families, children would eventually face the death of their parents as they grew up.

In such a situation, if they knew they could revive their parents and make up for their regrets, would they do it?

Naturally, some would.

Then the Shinobi World would fall into chaos.

After all, the Living Corpse Reincarnation Technique was a life for a life, and that would never be enough. It would also create new hatred.

Therefore, Kenichi could not promote this technique unless he developed a more convenient ninjutsu first, then attempted to revive people.

But that might attract the attention of the Sage of Six Paths.

Who knew what that old geezer was doing in the Pure Land?

Kenichi felt that it definitely was not anything good.

If he revived the dead on a large scale, it might touch the Sage of Six Paths’ bottom line.

What if the Sage of Six Paths then found a few more successors and used Six Paths Chibaku Tensei on him?

That would be fun.

Before his strength increased, Kenichi could not revive people on a large scale.

After sending Kushina away, Kenichi found the body tissue of the Fourth Hokage and Fugaku, then performed Edo Tensei.

He first used Edo Tensei on the Fourth Hokage, Minato.

Soon, Minato opened his eyes.

He saw Kenichi and sat up with a somewhat complicated expression.

”Brother Minato, you must already know, right?”

Kenichi looked at Minato with a toothpick in his mouth and asked.

”Yes.”

Minato sighed deeply, his heart feeling somewhat complicated.

He had met the Third Hokage in the Pure Land.

Soon after, he had also seen his teacher, Jiraiya.

He had learned the reason for Jiraiya’s death from Jiraiya himself.

”Teacher said that being able to witness such a ninjutsu before dying was worth it, but he also didn’t know what path the future of the Shinobi World would take in your hands.”

Minato silently looked at Kenichi.

”Actually, Teacher wasn’t very angry before. But recently, Tsunade came down, and he angrily said that if I were ever summoned back, I should kick you hard.”

Minato coughed.

He had already learned about the current state of the Shinobi World from Jiraiya and Tsunade.

The Shinobi World had basically submitted to Kenichi.

This made the Third Hokage and Second Hokage rather unhappy.

The First Hokage, however, did not care much. He only chuckled and said that this would bring lasting peace to the Shinobi World.

Ninja from other villages had also come to speak with them, and now the entire Pure Land was discussing the matter of the Land of Flame.

All the ninja could see that a new era had arrived.

”Brother Minato, Sister Kushina hopes I can revive you. What do you think?”

Kenichi had no intention of continuing to listen.

It was useless anyway.

The dead should stay in the world of the dead.

What he had to do now was make the Shinobi World shine with new brilliance under his hands.

He did not care how the dead evaluated him.

”I...”

Minato hesitated a little.

He did want to be revived.

But if he were revived, what would he do in the future?

And how would he face his teacher and the past Hokage?

”Brother Minato, I heard someone is pursuing Sister Kushina, you know.”

Kenichi smiled, adding fuel to the fire.

As a result, Minato immediately said he wanted to be revived and would then serve under Kenichi.

Kenichi chuckled as well and found a jonin to perform the revival technique.

He had not deceived Minato.

Although Kushina was married and had a child, her beauty was undeniable. Moreover, the revived Kushina had become a little gentler and more feminine, naturally attracting many admirers.

However, after Kushina smiled and crushed a doorframe, no one dared to pursue her anymore.

But after all, Kushina had raised Naruto alone for so long.

If Minato still did not revive, Kenichi felt that it would not be good for Kushina.

What if some lonely widow situation happened?

Would that not be terrible?

Although Kenichi knew Kushina would not do that, Minato could not always let Kushina live alone, could he?

”Thanks, Kenichi.”

Minato opened his eyes.

He looked at the dead jonin beside him, his heart somewhat complicated, but he still spoke sincerely.

”Brother Minato, go back quickly. I’m waiting for Naruto to become a big brother.”

Kenichi smiled.

Minato’s old face rarely flushed, and then he hurriedly left Kenichi’s laboratory.

He ran very quickly.

He had already learned Kushina’s current address from Kenichi.

When he found Kushina, she was knitting clothes.

Minato knew at a glance that she was knitting them for him.

At that moment, the strange emotion in his heart instantly dissipated.

Kenichi was right.

The Pure Land would have to be visited sooner or later.

But for now, he only wanted to not let Kushina down.

So, amid Kushina’s gasp, Minato hugged her.

Then he closed the door.

”Naruto, you’ll eat at my house tonight.”

At that moment, Mikoto wiped away the tears of happiness from the corners of her eyes, then looked at Naruto and spoke with a smile.

Little Naruto was a bit confused.

”Aunt Mikoto, but my mom told me to go home for dinner.”

Naruto blinked.

Mikoto smiled at Fugaku, who was holding Sasuke and smiling at her, then looked at Naruto.

”Your mom said she had something to do.”

Mikoto smiled very happily.

Just now, Fugaku had found her and told her what Kenichi had instructed.

Naruto should not go back yet, lest he interrupt Minato and Kushina’s long awaited reunion.

So Mikoto did as she was told.

After dinner, Naruto and Sasuke happily went out to play, while Mikoto tidied up the dishes.

She was a little afraid to go out.

Afraid to face her husband, who was still so young.

She looked at her reflection in the water inside the bowl.

The reflection showed an old woman with white hair and a face full of wrinkles.

She had grown old.

”Mikoto.”

A gentle voice sounded.

Then came a familiar scent.

Someone embraced her from behind, arms wrapping around her waist.

This made Mikoto tremble all over.

Fugaku looked at his wife’s head full of white hair with heartache.

When he died, his wife had still been so radiant.

But in just a few years, why had she aged so much?

Fugaku’s heart trembled.

He had been worthy of many people.

He had saved the Uchiha Clan, allowing his clansmen to continue, doing what a clan head should do.

But the only person he had let down was Mikoto, his wife.

”I...”

Mikoto mumbled, wanting to push her husband away.

She was already old.

But then, her body was forcibly turned around.

She saw her husband’s loving gaze.

Just like on the night they had married, he looked at her the same way...

”I...”

Mikoto covered her face in panic.

But then, her hands were gently pulled away.

Her husband’s face came closer and closer, his heavy breath brushing against her neck.

”I think you shouldn’t go back yet.”

Shisui smiled and pulled Itachi away.

Itachi wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes and smiled.

”Yes, I think so too.”

Itachi was very happy.

His mood was incomparably joyful.

His father was back.

He could be a child again, a child who would never need to grow up in front of his father.

Shisui took a deep breath, spread his arms, and let his body bask in the warmth of the sun.

He smiled as he looked at everything around him.

Was this not the life he had always pursued?

People around them were smiling, shopping, and chatting.

Newlywed couples were blushing and whispering sweet words to one another.

Children were pestering their parents for toys.

Merchants were frowning as they calculated the day’s revenue.

Everyday life was like this.

Compared to war, such a life seemed incredibly beautiful.

This world should be like this.

War, that terrifying monster, should never be unleashed.

”Hmm? Is that...”

Shisui looked toward the street.

A few people were approaching.

He recognized them.

They were all important figures from Konoha: Homura Mitokado, Shikaku Nara, Hiashi Hyuga, and Hizashi Hyuga.

”Shisui, isn’t that the Tsuchikage, Onoki, over there?”

Itachi tugged at Shisui’s clothes.

Shisui looked over, and it was indeed Onoki.

Behind him was a girl happily embracing a middle-aged man and crying loudly.

Shisui remembered that the man’s name was Kitsuchi.

And on the other side of the street, Ebizo, the former elder of Sunagakure, had also arrived.

There was also the Fourth Raikage A of Kumogakure, Darui, and Killer Bee.

These once formidable figures of the Shinobi World had all come.

”Something big is about to happen.”

Shisui clicked his tongue.

Seeing this, he knew that something major was definitely going to happen.

Otherwise, there was no way all these important figures would be gathered here.

Some of them were in a very good mood, while others had stern and unhappy expressions.

But they had still come.

”Mr. Shisui.”

A woman approached.

Shisui’s expression instantly became much more serious.

He looked at this fellow clan member in front of him.

She was also from the Uchiha Clan, but she was Kenichi’s secretary.

”Mr. Shisui, Lord Amamiya asked me to inform you that you need to go to Conference Room One for a meeting now.”

Shiori spoke softly.

Shisui took a deep breath and nodded.
