Chapter 472: Edo Tensei, the Bug-Level Ninjutsu

”So that’s why you wanted to see me?”

Nagato looked at Kenichi in front of him.

He coughed, and his already frail body made Kenichi worry even more that Nagato might simply drop dead before anyone even had the chance to ambush him.

After all, Nagato’s body was far too weak now. He looked gaunt and emaciated.

Kenichi looked at Nagato.

Although he knew Nagato’s current body had been drained to this state after summoning the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, he still had to admit that it was terrifying to see.

For Nagato to survive until the future, go to Konoha, and talk to Naruto about Kurama paying rent, it truly spoke to the Uzumaki Clan’s monstrous physique.

”Yes, but looking at you, I feel like you might head to the Pure Land any second now.”

Kenichi sighed.

He looked at Nagato, then at Konan beside him, and scratched his head.

To be honest, he did not know how to tell Nagato and Konan these things.

The whole matter was simply too outlandish for them.

And thinking about it carefully, when Nagato was revived through Edo Tensei, he still seemed to have the Rinnegan.

But logically speaking, Obito should have already taken his Rinnegan by then.

So why did Edo Tensei Nagato still have the Rinnegan at that time?

Could it be that Edo Tensei revived a person in the state they were in just before death?

Madara did not have the Rinnegan before he died, so when the deceased Madara was revived, he had the Mangekyo Sharingan instead of the Rinnegan.

Nagato, however, had the Rinnegan when he died.

So even though Obito had taken his Rinnegan after that, Edo Tensei Nagato still possessed the Rinnegan.

This led to a very interesting hypothesis.

If one killed a Rinnegan wielder, extracted the Rinnegan, transplanted it into someone else, then killed that new wielder, extracted the Rinnegan again, and repeated the process endlessly, would all the ninja brought back by Edo Tensei possess the Rinnegan and nearly infinite chakra?

Would Madara still be so frightening then?

He would probably tremble all over, right?

After all, being surrounded by a group of Rinnegan users would be truly interesting.

Even if each of them used only one ninjutsu, it would probably be enough to make Madara’s scalp tingle.

And as long as Madara could not enter Six Paths Mode, how would he deal with these Rinnegan ninja?

If all the Edo Tensei bodies used Chibaku Tensei together, it would be enough to shave the entire Shinobi World down by a foot.

Even if Madara was truly very strong, the sheer exhaustion alone would be enough to make his scalp tingle, right?

So Kenichi felt that this idea actually had some feasibility.

In fact, it could be said that after the appearance of Edo Tensei, this super-powered, bug-level ninjutsu, the plot of the Shinobi World could no longer be examined too carefully.

Because the moment one examined it closely, they would realize that the Shinobi World should have collapsed long ago.

The reason it still progressed to Naruto and Sasuke sealing Kaguya Otsutsuki together was entirely due to Kishimoto forcibly pushing the plot.

Otherwise, if it had been allowed to develop naturally, Edo Tensei Rinnegan Kage could have swept through the Shinobi World.

Where would there be all that nonsense about the Fourth Great Ninja War?

Unless Kishimoto jumped out and added a patch, such as Edo Tensei ninja being unable to possess the Rinnegan after revival unless they had worn it for more than a year before death.

Otherwise, Kenichi believed his idea was truly possible.

Kenichi fell slightly into thought.

Nagato, standing in front of him, rolled his eyes.

What was wrong with this bastard?

He could actually get distracted while talking to someone?

If Kenichi were not his ally, Nagato would have cursed him out.

”Thinking about it that way, it doesn’t seem impossible. So how foolish was Kaguya Otsutsuki to think of creating those useless White Zetsu?”

The more Kenichi thought about it, the more feasible his idea seemed.

Ordinary ninja might not be able to control the Rinnegan.

But what about the Fourth Hokage, Minato?

What about famous Shinobi World powerhouses like Tsunade and Jiraiya?

Giving them the Rinnegan should not be a trap, right?

And although the Rinnegan consumed a great deal of chakra, the problem was that Edo Tensei almost perfectly compensated for this.

With Edo Tensei, a ninja’s chakra was virtually infinite.

So why would anyone need White Zetsu?

Why would anyone need that worthless Eye of the Moon Plan?

Give everyone a Rinnegan and sweep directly through the Otsutsuki Clan.

Even if ordinary ninja could not do it, over so many years in the Shinobi World, so many Kage had died, as had Kage-level powerhouses.

They were completely worthy of a Rinnegan.

With the Rinnegan, if they were given some time to develop, would they not easily overwhelm ordinary ninja?

So, in fact, the ultimate form of the Shinobi World was everyone becoming a Rinnegan ninja?

Everyone with a pair of Rinnegan, paired with the incomprehensibly vast chakra of the Uzumaki Clan or Hashirama Senju, would that not be stronger than worthless White Zetsu?

”That useless Kaguya Otsutsuki.”

She could not even be a proper ancestor of ninja. She deserved to be sealed away forever.

”What did you say?”

Nagato was stunned.

What was that?

What had Kenichi just said?

It sounded a little strange.

”Nothing.”

Kenichi waved his hand.

This question would be very difficult to prove.

After all, if he wanted to verify this idea, at the very least, he would need Nagato to die now.

But a dead Nagato right now did not quite fit Kenichi’s interests, because Nagato still had room to be useful.

And ultimately, Nagato and Kenichi were only in a cooperative relationship.

Their relationship was not close enough for Nagato to die for him.

However, thinking about it carefully, Nagato dying now did seem like a good option.

A dead Nagato’s Rinnegan could be extracted and used in rotation, then destroyed directly after use.

Then Madara would have to fight Rinnegan ninja with only his Mangekyo Sharingan.

It was just unknown whether Madara would have the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan or the Rinnegan when he was revived.

But judging from Madara’s behavior, he seemed to have wanted to reclaim his own eyes at that time, rather than growing a new Rinnegan himself.

Perhaps there was some kind of limitation.

It was hard to say.

The more Kenichi thought about it, the more he felt this idea was good.

So Kenichi looked up at Nagato, contemplating whether it was worth it.

He had prevented Madara from acquiring the Rinnegan, but did that truly mean the other party had no countermeasures?

Even without the Rinnegan, Madara’s strength still surpassed that of ordinary Kage-level powerhouses.

Moreover, Nagato might not even understand what he meant, and might even think Kenichi was playing a trick on him, causing their cooperation to collapse completely.

Kenichi did not have much confidence in his talk-no-jutsu ability.

”Then will I follow you in the future?”

Nagato coughed a few times, drawing Kenichi’s attention back to him.

He seemed uncomfortable with others seeing his true current state.

”Nagato, may I ask you to die?”

Kenichi narrowed his eyes and looked seriously at Nagato.

He still wanted to try.

Nagato froze for a moment.

Konan’s pupils constricted, and she instinctively moved in front of Nagato.

What was this bastard Kenichi saying?

He actually wanted Nagato to die?!

”Reason?”

Nagato suppressed the anger inside him and could not help asking.

He wanted to ask Kenichi why he had to die.

Did this have anything to do with what Kenichi had said earlier about following him being safer?

Did Kenichi believe that even with him present, they still could not fight the threat ahead?

Kenichi pursed his lips.

”Because your death can allow me to quickly sweep through the Shinobi World, unify the entire Shinobi World, and bring peace.”

Kenichi spoke calmly.

As for Madara, he did not mention him.

Because he knew Nagato might not believe it.

If Nagato did not believe him, then saying it would be meaningless.

A pure waste of breath.

And therefore, there was no value in saying it.

Nagato narrowed his eyes at Kenichi.

The Pains also slowly descended around Nagato, subtly guarding him.

Kenichi sighed.

It really would not work, would it?

He was not Uzumaki Naruto, who had eaten the Talk-no-Jutsu Fruit and could persuade enemies with words.

However, what this world never lacked were ninja who completely ignored the words of others and only wished to carry out their own will.

Someone like Uchiha Madara.

Whatever Naruto said to him was useless.

Either defeat him with brute strength, or be crushed by him.

”If you’re unwilling, then pretend I never said it.”

Kenichi shrugged and walked out.

He did not expect a few words from him to make others weep, bow their heads, and submit.

That was not a person.

That was a succubus.

Kenichi admitted that his charm was not that great.

So Kenichi left.

Anyway, no matter what Nagato thought, he had his own contingency plans.

The only difference would be choosing another plan based on Nagato’s decision.

”Nagato, don’t listen to that guy!”

Konan was somewhat upset.

Nagato was her only good friend.

If Nagato died too, then she would be all alone.

Even if she saw the world Yahiko had wanted to see, what would be the point?

Her most important person would already be gone.

”Konan, you know this. Death and parting have permeated our entire lives.”

Nagato’s eyes were somewhat vacant.

Death was an issue no one could escape.

Or rather, he, Uzumaki Nagato, had never thought of escaping death.

Death was merely a new beginning.

Then he could go see Yahiko and proudly tell him that he had not forgotten their past wish.

It was just that he did not know whether his death would be worth it.

Moreover, dragging around this crippled body seemed no different from being dead.

”What did you go talk to the leader about?”

After returning to the main camp, Kenichi saw Orochimaru sitting in a chair, drinking tea while watching him.

”I went to talk to the leader about safety issues.”

Kenichi sighed.

He did not know what Nagato would choose, but it did not matter.

No matter what Nagato chose, Kenichi would proceed with his plan.

Madara was very troublesome.

But with enough preparation, he was not impossible to deal with.

Orochimaru glanced at his student and said nothing.

Now that Kenichi was back, the Land of Flame ninja army’s campaign against the Land of Lightning could continue.

Thinking of this, Orochimaru began directing the Allied Shinobi Forces to continue advancing toward the Land of Lightning.

Soon, the footsteps of the Land of Flame ninja entered the territory of the Land of Lightning.

The small nations behind them trembled.

Faced with the might of the Land of Flame’s ninja, they had no power to resist.

”How are things?”

On the road back to Konoha, Shikaku quietly asked the rushing ANBU ninja.

”Reporting, Lord Nara. According to intelligence, the Land of Flame ninja, led by Kenichi, have now left the Land of Fire and are heading toward the Land of Lightning.”

The ANBU ninja spoke respectfully.

With Tsunade in a coma, Konoha’s command had temporarily been transferred to Shikaku.

Shikaku breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, that guy had not followed them.

Otherwise, they would have had to fight to the death or surrender directly.

Shikaku looked worriedly toward the tent.

They had encountered the unconscious Tsunade on the way to the mushroom cloud’s location.

Tsunade’s condition was very bad.

She had turned into an old woman, her face covered in wrinkles, almost unrecognizable as the beautiful Tsunade.

Her injuries were severe.

Even with Shizune there, they could only barely stabilize her condition.

Despite that, she still needed to be sent back to Konoha for treatment, and Shizune was still inside, personally taking care of Tsunade.

Konoha’s ninja silently walked toward the village.

Although the information was kept secret, such a hasty retreat, instead of continuing to advance triumphantly toward the Land of Flame, already indicated that something was wrong.

Everyone knew that Konoha had failed.

It could even be said that the Allied Shinobi Forces had failed.

Before setting out, all the ninja had thought this battle would be very easy.

After all, it was a simultaneous operation by four Ninja Villages.

In such a situation, they did not think the small Land of Flame could survive.

But who knew the battlefield would change like this?

Iwagakure was attacked and released a Tailed Beast.

Then Kumogakure was also attacked.

And among the ninja who went to support Iwagakure, only Kakashi was sent back.

A mushroom cloud had risen into the sky.

And their powerful Fifth Hokage, Tsunade, was severely injured and unconscious, still not awake even now.

What on earth had happened?

Was this still the revered Konoha Village?

Were they truly the number one village in the Shinobi World?

All the ninja had lost their morale.

Faced with such a situation, Shikaku was helpless.

After all, they were indeed retreating.

It was impossible to tell them to advance toward the Land of Flame, right?

If they did, Orochimaru and Kenichi would probably immediately turn back and cripple Konoha.

At present, Konoha did not even know who to choose as the Sixth Hokage.
