Chapter 469: The Hidden Sand Village Ninja’s Plan

Obito stared blankly at Rin.

There was a kunai lodged in her chest.

But it had not been there a moment ago.

So why was there a kunai now?

Why was this kunai stuck in Rin’s heart?

Why?

”Obito...”

Rin coughed up a mouthful of blood.

She slowly extended her hand, wanting to touch Obito’s face.

But in the next second, her hand dropped powerlessly.

The people around them screamed in terror.

Someone had just died right in front of them.

But Obito did not react.

He simply held Rin silently, watching the woman he loved lose her breath, watching her warm body slowly lose its warmth.

”Rin... Rin...”

Obito’s pupils trembled.

Before, he had witnessed his best friend being forced to kill the girl he loved most.

And now, the girl he loved most had died right in front of him.

But both times, both times, Obito could do nothing.

He could only watch.

Just watch.

Obito was not proficient in medical ninjutsu, but he knew one thing.

If a person’s heart was pierced, they would not survive.

”Ahhh!”

Obito wailed in grief.

He held Rin tightly, trembling all over.

His body shook, and at that moment, his sanity completely collapsed.

The beautiful future he had just built in his mind, the hopes he had for the days ahead, all of it was utterly destroyed.

”Who are you?!”

The ninja responsible for guarding the hot spring town walked over and vigilantly looked at the man in front of him.

What greeted him were blood-red eyes and a sudden wooden spike that pierced his chest.

The ninja lowered his head with difficulty and glanced down.

A wooden spike had pierced through his chest.

Pain surged through him, and adrenaline began to pour out, suppressing the pain.

But then, an even more intense pain struck.

He could no longer make a sound.

Because his body was already filled with sharp wooden spikes.

Wood Release erupted.

Countless wooden spikes continuously harvested the lives of everyone in the hot spring town.

The completely insane Obito slaughtered everything he could see, no longer caring about anything.

And in the distance, the Kumogakure ninja who had hastily retreated from the Land of Fire also noticed the commotion here.

Obito’s war had begun.

”Uchiha Madara, huh...”

Inside the makeshift room, Kenichi bit the pen in his hand, frowning in thought.

Before, Kenichi could still hope that Madara would not be released so early.

But this time, Madara’s sudden appearance during the battle with the four Ninja Villages made Kenichi realize that his hopes had been dashed.

That guy Obito could not withstand his pressure and still chose to use Edo Tensei on Madara.

But in the end, this also had something to do with Kenichi himself.

After all, Edo Tensei had been a relatively obscure ninjutsu before.

When the Second Hokage, Tobirama, first created this ninjutsu, it had only been used to have Edo Tensei ninja carry large numbers of explosive tags to launch attacks.

It could be said that it was very different from the current Edo Tensei.

However, Kenichi had brought out this ninjutsu in advance, and after refining it with Orochimaru, it had become the current Edo Tensei.

So, in a way, Kenichi had dug his own grave.

”I should have known not to mess with Edo Tensei.”

Kenichi sighed.

He had jumped out too early.

Before he was fully prepared, he had already been forced to face that madman, Uchiha Madara. ℯℯ𝘭.

”So there are a few problems I need to solve now.”

Kenichi picked up his pen and wrote down his thoughts on the paper.

[The Tailed Beast of the Hidden Mist Village died, and now another Tailed Beast has died. With two fewer Tailed Beasts, Uchiha Madara definitely cannot enter his Six Paths state within these few years. That reduces my pressure somewhat.]

[Currently, the strongest state Uchiha Madara can theoretically achieve should be full resurrection after regaining both Rinnegan.]

[If I want to solve this problem, then I need to prevent Uchiha Madara from being resurrected. At present, the only methods for resurrecting ninja are the Self-Reincarnation that I control and the Rinne Rebirth of the Rinnegan.]

Kenichi scratched his head.

Thinking about it this way, the pressure was actually much lower.

Although Edo Tensei Madara was also very strong, his strength was still limited after all. He was still inferior to Madara after regaining the Rinnegan.

Now, the key problem was how to prevent Madara from obtaining the Rinnegan.

As long as he did not have the Rinnegan, Madara would not be able to reach his strongest form.

Although Kenichi suspected that if Madara were resurrected and given enough time, it was hard to say whether he could advance to the Rinnegan again.

But this had never been mentioned in the Hokage manga, and the resurrected Madara had not immediately grown a Rinnegan either.

He still had to regain his original Rinnegan.

”So in that case, I only need to protect Nagato. But even then, it’s not completely certain. After all, Madara’s strength is there. If he finds a way to restrain me, then lets someone else attack Nagato, and finally Black Zetsu reclaims the Rinnegan, there’s still a possibility.”

Kenichi irritably picked up his teacup and took a sip.

Solving the Divine Tree problem was not complicated.

As long as the Tailed Beasts were killed and could not be gathered, he would have time to grow.

The only problem now was the Rinnegan.

If he could destroy the Rinnegan, then he would not need to worry about Madara regaining it.

But that would require Nagato’s consent.

Otherwise, their cooperation would be over.

”You seem troubled by something.”

Orochimaru walked in.

He had just finished arranging the plan for the invasion of the Land of Lightning.

Although Kenichi had requested to go later, Orochimaru, while somewhat confused, still agreed.

”Teacher, when you use Mangekyo Sharingan ninjutsu, do your eyes ever feel very tired?”

Kenichi burned the paper in his hand to ash, then looked at Orochimaru and asked.

Orochimaru looked at Kenichi.

He could tell that Kenichi was changing the subject, but he did not care.

”Yes. If I overuse it, my eyes hurt a lot.”

Orochimaru sat in the chair opposite Kenichi, then poured himself a cup of tea. His posture was relaxed and composed.

Kenichi glanced at Orochimaru.

There had been some changes.

His teacher seemed to be adapting more and more to this body. Before, there had still been traces of his original habits, but now Orochimaru seemed increasingly accustomed to his current form.

From a research perspective, Kenichi found it very interesting.

He wanted to study whether the influence between soul and body was one-way or two-way.

It seemed that Orochimaru could provide some help in this regard.

For example, by serving as a qualified test subject.

”Teacher, I’ve researched the Mangekyo Sharingan. Using Mangekyo Sharingan ninjutsu will gradually lead to blindness. Eventually, there is a high probability that the user won’t be able to see anything at all.”

Kenichi withdrew his gaze.

Although Orochimaru would not notice his thoughts, he still needed to be careful.

A ninja’s sixth sense was particularly sharp.

”So what’s the solution?”

Orochimaru calmly took a sip of tea, his fingers resting on the cup.

He knew his student would not say this for no reason.

Since Kenichi had brought it up, it meant he should have a solution to the problem.

”The currently feasible and effective method is to dig out your own eyes before going blind, then replace them with someone else’s eyes.”

Kenichi shrugged.

He was not lying.

Currently, this was the only available option to solve the Mangekyo Sharingan problem.

As for advancing to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, he had not entered the experimental stage yet and could not prove whether his idea was feasible.

The experimental process would take a long time.

Although he had Amado Sanzu’s cloning technology to help, it would still take a long time for the clones to grow up.

”Then what about the temporarily unfeasible methods?”

Orochimaru asked with interest.

This question was quite important to him.

After all, he now also had the Mangekyo Sharingan, and he had also noticed the problem of blindness.

If it could not be solved, then it would indeed be very troublesome.

”Well, genetic programming can be considered, but I’m still researching that.”

Kenichi pondered for a moment and did not reveal the method for advancing to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

After all, he knew Orochimaru’s personality.

If he told Orochimaru, his teacher would definitely be drawn to it.

But Kenichi did not know whether that would produce any results, so it was better to try his own idea first and see whether it was feasible.

”I see...”

Orochimaru fell into thought.

Just as Kenichi was about to say something, someone rushed in excitedly.

It was Deidara, who seemed extremely excited.

”Hey?! Senior Amamiya!”

Deidara had originally looked at Orochimaru, but then he noticed Kenichi beside him and quickly waved excitedly.

”Deidara? Did you find traces of the Hidden Sand Village ninja?”

Kenichi was also stunned when he saw Deidara.

But then he realized that Deidara’s excitement meant something must have happened.

Combining that with what Deidara had been sent out to do, Kenichi knew that Deidara must have found the location of the Hidden Sand Village’s main force.

Regarding this war, Kenichi had learned many things from Orochimaru, such as the mysterious disappearance of the Hidden Sand Village ninja and even their deliberate creation of a false trail, making it impossible to know what they were doing.

”Yes. I found traces of an airship, and after chasing it, I found them heading toward the Land of Grass.”

Deidara spoke excitedly.

He had found Hidden Sand Village ninja before, but he had not expected those people to be decoys.

”The Land of Grass?”

Kenichi was stunned.

Why were those people running to the Land of Grass?

If they were returning to the Land of Wind from their current position in the Land of Fire, they should not be going that way.

Could it be...

Kenichi took out a map and discovered that if they set out from their current location and flew toward the Land of Grass, they would eventually reach the Land of Earth.

Could it be that the Hidden Sand Village ninja were planning to...

”How interesting.”

Orochimaru also walked over.

He looked at the map in Kenichi’s hand, a trace of playfulness and surprise in his eyes.

”The Hidden Sand Village ninja are likely trying to swap bases.”

Orochimaru pointed at the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth, though he was still somewhat uncertain.

After all, this idea was a little crazy and did not seem like something the Hidden Sand Village ninja would do.

”Swap bases?”

Kenichi also understood what Orochimaru meant.

Now, ninja from all four Ninja Villages had been deployed, and the four Kage were also on the battlefield.

Their main bases were relatively empty.

What if the Hidden Sand Village ninja wanted to leave the Land of Wind and live in a more suitable land?

One had to remember that in the Shinobi World, the Hidden Sand Village was considered the weakest of the Five Great Ninja Villages because of its extremely harsh natural environment.

They basically lived in the desert.

This made it very difficult for them to develop.

Extremely difficult, even.

This was also the fundamental reason the Hidden Sand Village always wanted to cause trouble.

After all, there was no one who did not want their village to become better.

If Kazekage Rasa wanted to take this opportunity to launch a surprise attack on Iwagakure and directly swap bases to live in the Land of Earth, it did not seem impossible.

”This is truly interesting.”

Kenichi stroked his chin.

If the Hidden Sand Village really thought this way, then it would be a huge help.

When the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth started fighting, Kenichi’s occupation of the Land of Lightning would not attract too much attention.

”But they seem to have run into some trouble.”

Deidara’s expression became strange.

Kenichi was stunned.

Trouble?

What trouble?

How did he not know he had gone to mess with the Hidden Sand Village?

”I saw a green giant attacking those Hidden Sand Village ninja at the time.”

Deidara added.

Kenichi was stunned.

A green giant?

The Hulk?

Could that one from Marvel next door have crossed over?

But then Kenichi shook his head.

Unlikely.

It should be Susanoo.

A green Susanoo.

In that case, he could understand.

Those Hidden Sand Village ninja must have encountered the Uchiha Clan, who had come from the Land of Rice Fields to support him, while they were trying to go to the Land of Earth.

And that green Susanoo should have been used by Shisui.

Kenichi had seen Shisui use Susanoo before, and it was green.

”They ran into Shisui. They probably won’t be able to escape.”

Kenichi shook his head.

That was Shisui of the Body Flicker, plus the other members of the Uchiha Clan.

It would be absurd if those Hidden Sand Village ninja could escape.

No wonder he had not seen the Uchiha Clan come to support him before.

It turned out they had intercepted the Hidden Sand Village ninja halfway.

But this had also disrupted Kenichi’s previous plan.

Though it did not matter.

That terrible place, the Land of Wind, only had one thing he was interested in, the Land of Wind’s Daimyo.

He was not really interested in the other places.

That land was full of deserts, and there were not many places suitable for human settlement.

He did not have much time to waste on environmental management now.

”Forget it. I’ll go over.”

Kenichi pinched the space between his brows.

He could not just stand by and do nothing.
