Chapter 460: The War Intensifies

”Lightning Release Chakra Mode!”

Kenichi’s expression was grim as he watched the Fourth Raikage, A, break through every obstacle and charge toward him.

He had originally manipulated Rasa to launch a surprise attack in order to force A and Tsunade back, but Kenichi had not expected A to attack him regardless. Meanwhile, Tsunade blocked Rasa’s attack from behind, even deflecting the blow that had originally been aimed at A.

That was why A could charge forward without worrying about his back.

”Lightning Release Chakra Mode, Lightning Release Chakra Mode. Is that all A knows?”

Kenichi’s Sharingan spun, and Susanoo covered his body, forming a half-body giant.

It blocked A’s Lightning Release Chakra Mode in time, but the outer shell of Susanoo cracked under the attack. It clearly could not withstand another blow.

With a crisp crack, Susanoo shattered.

Immediately afterward, a fist rapidly enlarged in Kenichi’s vision.

In the next moment, Kenichi was sent flying by Tsunade’s punch.

Four ribs broke, and his lungs were damaged, but those injuries rapidly healed. Almost the moment Kenichi crashed into a tree and stopped, the wounds repaired themselves.

With a muffled groan, Mei clutched her shoulder and glared angrily at the man in front of her.

She had been about to use Lava Release to attack the man with the Sage’s eyes, but unexpectedly, two Pain bodies suddenly appeared from the side and attacked her.

Although Mei reacted quickly, under the pincer attack of the three Pain bodies, a black receiver still pierced through her left shoulder.

”This guy’s black rods can interfere with chakra flow!”

Mei keenly noticed the abnormality in her body.

At this moment, she had no intention of holding back and immediately shouted the information she knew.

Watching the dead Rasa twist and rise again, Mei knew that if the four Kage did not cooperate now, they might still be defeated one by one by these two.

That would be troublesome.

Even in death, they would not find peace, and their remains would be desecrated by Kenichi.

”These people seem to be puppets. I’ve killed three of these monsters, but they were revived.”

Onoki also flew over.

He had already finished the battle on his side and noticed the situation here.

The moment Mei shouted, he understood what she was thinking and also saw Rasa flying down from the sky.

”That person is called Pain. He seems to be a ninja Jiraiya encountered before, and he belongs to the Akatsuki Organization. Their leader has an ability that can repel anyone who gets close to him.”

Tsunade also stopped holding back information.

She was now certain that Kenichi, that bastard, was serious.

He truly intended to eliminate them, the Kage.

”Hmph. I already know the range of that guy’s repulsion. But he controls it himself, and after each use, there’s roughly a five-second cooldown.”

Raikage A also stood nearby.

He reached out and pulled out the black receiver, while Tsunade quickly helped Mei treat her injury.

Kenichi and Nagato stood together, looking at the four Kage in front of them.

Kenichi licked his lips.

This was getting interesting now.

The four Kage were actually standing together?

Were they planning to join forces against them?

This was truly a Shinobi World War.

”In that case...”

Kenichi looked at the four Kage in front of him, his expression serious.

Beside him, Kazekage Rasa stood there, his eyes vacant and devoid of life.

”This is...”

Nagato could not help glancing at Rasa beside him.

He had killed this man himself. Nagato remembered that very clearly.

But he had not expected Rasa to crawl out of the Pure Land now.

”A simple ninjutsu.”

Kenichi was not too concerned.

Rasa’s strength was not outstanding, and this hasty resurrection was merely a modified ninjutsu based on Edo Tensei.

It could not give Rasa much combat awareness, nor much chakra.

The current Rasa was completely cannon fodder.

But the problem was that the others did not know that.

Before Rasa’s true nature was exposed, he was still a very useful punching bag.

These four Kage naturally could not ignore a fighter who feared neither death nor pain.

Moreover, although the four of them seemed to have allied, they still had a fatal weakness.

If Kenichi could exploit that weakness, he could heavily damage this alliance and make it collapse.

Then this war could also come to an end.

A furious roar echoed through the entire forest.

Everyone instinctively turned their heads in one direction.

Among them, Onoki’s expression became extremely grim.

He naturally recognized that sound.

It was the cry of the Five-Tails, the Tailed Beast of his village.

”Can’t sit still?”

Kenichi listened to the deafening roar, then looked at Onoki’s grim face and could not help smiling.

Although Kenichi could not distinguish which Tailed Beast’s roar it was, seeing Onoki’s expression told him that Iwagakure’s situation was not good.

Onoki must be eager to return.

It seemed Orochimaru had already begun to act.

As for those Tailed Beasts, Kenichi was not particularly worried.

It would be strange if those beasts could still display their might while surrounded by a group of Mangekyo Sharingan ninja.

In fact, the Tailed Beasts, once considered trump cards in the Shinobi World War, had now become the greatest trap in this war.

It would be fine if these fools did not deploy the Tailed Beasts.

But once they did, it would become their downfall.

”You bastard!”

Onoki’s nose was red with anger.

He wished he could immediately fly back to Iwagakure’s ninja forces and see what was happening, and why Iwagakure’s ninja had deployed the Tailed Beast.

”It’s too early to leave now, isn’t it?”

Kenichi shot upward, and a Wood Golem appeared before the four Kage.

Then his Mangekyo spun, and Susanoo covered the upper half of the Wood Golem.

Kenichi brought his sword down without hesitation.

Although he did not know how Orochimaru had arranged the war missions, Kenichi knew one thing.

As long as he held back the four Kage here, the tide of war would eventually shift in his favor.

With so many ninja lost, and even the Kage of their villages trapped here, what would the four Ninja Villages use to fight him afterward?

In this war, the villages that deployed their Tailed Beasts would ultimately lose those Tailed Beasts.

Before Kenichi left the Land of Flame, he had sent someone to the Land of Snow to pick up Kushina, precisely so he could use the Uzumaki Clan’s sealing power to find suitable Jinchuriki within the Land of Flame.

Then he would extract the Tailed Beasts from their current Jinchuriki and implant them into the Land of Flame’s chosen Jinchuriki.

That would completely sever the other Ninja Villages’ foundation for resistance.

Excitement surged in Kenichi’s heart.

In this battle, he would cut off the foundations of the four Ninja Villages once and for all.

Then he would be able to completely annex these four countries and achieve the grand unification of the Shinobi World.

”This is truly absurd.”

Nagato looked at the giant Wood Golem beside him and felt his own insignificance for the first time.

However, Kenichi’s formidable strength also made Nagato excited.

The stronger his ally was, the more likely the future his ally spoke of would be realized.

Instead of letting those insects continue sucking the blood of the people, it would be better to crush them completely and bring true peace to the Shinobi World.

”Don’t talk big!”

The Fourth Raikage, A, was the first to charge.

His hair stood on end, and the chakra throughout his body erupted to its peak.

He leaped up.

Kenichi was surprised to find that at that moment, he could not see the Fourth Raikage at all.

In the next instant, a flash of lightning streaked past.

The Susanoo armor shattered into pieces.

Even the Wood Golem beneath Kenichi split open in that same moment.

A crack ran from its head all the way down to its base, splitting the Wood Golem directly in half.

”This bastard...”

Kenichi crouched on a treetop, looking at the Fourth Raikage, A, who was completely enveloped in Lightning Release, and could not help licking his lips.

Was A using his full power now?

He had actually split open a Wood Golem covered in Susanoo with a single hand chop.

Even the armor of Susanoo and the strength of Wood Release could not withstand that attack.

Lightning Release: Lariat.

It truly deserved to be a powerful ninjutsu capable of directly shattering Susanoo’s initial form, especially when combined with the Raikage’s physical strength.

Kenichi frowned deeply.

It seemed dealing with these four would not be easy.

A deadly sense of crisis struck him.

Kenichi shot away.

The trees behind him were instantly torn to shreds.

Immediately afterward, clods of earth pressed down from the sky, seemingly intending to crush Kenichi into dust.

”Onoki, you’re really anxious. You’re even using Particle Style.”

Kenichi grumbled while looking at the panting Raikage.

He knew the ninjutsu A had just performed must have consumed a great deal of stamina.

But the Raikage could rest.

Kenichi could not.

”Shinra Tensei!”

Tsunade and A, who were preparing to rush over and attack Kenichi, were repelled by Nagato’s Shinra Tensei.

Kenichi twisted his neck.

These bastards were truly troublesome.

Kenichi glanced at the sky.

Although it was not raining today, it was not perfectly clear either. There were clouds, but not many.

If he wanted to use that Lightning Release by drawing on the power of the heavens, he would need some preparation time.

But Tsunade might know some of his information.

Would she just stand by and watch?

Kenichi took a deep breath.

Although he had never performed that ninjutsu before, he had made some attempts.

Now, as long as he expended a large amount of chakra, he should be able to replicate that ninjutsu.

If Nagato cooperated well, there might be a turning point.

”Sage Art! Wood Release!”

—

”This big guy is valuable.”

Kakuzu constantly dodged the Five-Tails’ attacks, then found time to strike back.

But against the massive Five-Tails, the effect was not particularly obvious.

Before Kakuzu could do anything else, he saw a group of Land of Flame ninja leap up.

Then the Five-Tails’ movements suddenly paused, its body becoming sluggish.

A Mangekyo Sharingan slowly appeared in the Five-Tails’ eyes, then disappeared, only to immediately appear again.

The Five-Tails’ movements became stiff.

Sasori raised his hands and slammed a heavy punch onto the Five-Tails’ head.

The immense force, combined with his own weight, drove the Five-Tails’ head into the ground with a loud thud.

The other Land of Flame ninja simultaneously performed ninjutsu, and the Five-Tails was instantly drowned beneath group ninjutsu.

Watching the Five-Tails let out a painful roar, Kitsuchi tightly gripped the kunai in his hand.

He looked at the Land of Flame ninja in front of him, who were as ferocious as wolves and tigers, and a resolute glint flashed through his eyes.

”For Iwagakure!”

Kitsuchi charged forward.

”Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!”

Just as Iwagakure’s ninja fell into battle, two teams of ninja appeared almost simultaneously at the edge of the battlefield.

The forehead protectors they wore proved their identities.

They were Konoha and Hidden Cloud Village ninja.

”Chidori!”

Lightning crackled in Kakashi’s hand as he pierced through the chest of a Land of Flame chunin.

However, the chunin suddenly grabbed Kakashi’s hand and flashed him a ferocious grin.

In the next moment, a huge explosion sent Kakashi flying.

If Kakashi had not sensed something was wrong and desperately struggled free, that one blast alone would have been enough to injure him badly.

”This lunatic!”

Kakashi’s eyes held disbelief.

He had never imagined the opponent would directly detonate explosive tags.

And judging by the force, there had probably been quite a few of them.

”Something’s not right!”

A Hyuga Clan ninja helped Kakashi up, looking at the battlefield with uneasy suspicion.

”What’s wrong?”

Kakashi asked the Hyuga ninja beside him.

The grim Byakugan in the Hyuga ninja’s eyes proved that he was using the Hyuga Clan’s dojutsu.

So what had he seen?

”These people... there’s a huge bug in the backs of their heads! That bug is still moving!”

The Hyuga ninja swallowed and spoke with horror.

Kakashi froze.

Bug?

A huge bug?

Still moving?

”Every single one of them! These ninja from the Land of Flame, all of them have bugs in the backs of their heads!”

The Hyuga ninja now wished he could gouge out his own eyes.

Looking at those huge, squirming bugs made his entire body feel uncomfortable.

Kakashi stared blankly at the ninja who fought without regard for life or death.

Even when their comrades died beside them, they fought emotionlessly.

A chill ran through Kakashi’s heart.

So what exactly had happened?

What had his friend done?

Why did these ninja all have bugs in the backs of their heads?

But Kakashi also knew that this was extremely important information.

It had to be reported to Shikaku quickly.

”You need to get this information back quickly.”

Kakashi spoke in a low voice.

Then he picked up his weapon and charged forward again.

No matter what, he needed to help Iwagakure and prevent them from being annihilated.
