Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 451: Chapter 450: One Stingy, One Broke

Under the leniency of the local garrison, the slaves of Mary Geoise successfully escaped with minimal casualties. A complete retreat would have been an ideal result. Even though the Heavenly Celestial Dragons demanded living captures of the escaped slaves, deaths still occurred during the battle.

Slaves were not just vases for the amusement of the Heavenly Celestial Dragons; some were also gladiatorial slaves, and most of the casualties came from this group.

”Cough... this guy hits really hard...”

Amidst the ruins, the Junior Admiral stationed there crawled up. Before retreating, Tiger had suddenly punched him. The man who could subdue Fishman Street and make Jinbe willingly call him boss was certainly no weakling among fish-men.

At this point in time, Tiger was the strongest of the fish-men on the sea, and with the innate strength of fish-men being ten times that of humans, that punch made the Junior Admiral understand that even if it came to a fight, he was no match for him.

He could feel some blood and energy churning inside him, a result of Fishman Karate’s impact.

Fishman Karate not only uses water as a means of attack but can also strike at the water within an enemy’s body, causing even more damage.

Fish-men proficient in Fishman Karate can even deal damage to Logia-type ability users with just punches, without the need for Haki.

”Junior Admiral, those guys have already escaped...”

”They’re gone, what are you standing around for? Go after them.”

He didn’t hold a grudge over that punch. Without it, he wouldn’t have had a good excuse.

”Junior Admiral, the other ships have all been sunk by the fish-men...”

Fish-men in The Sea often use this tactic. Their priority targets are usually not people but ships. Without a foothold, even those without abilities can’t survive well in The Sea.

”Then there’s no choice, wait for support from the Headquarter. Where are the medics? Get them over here, now!”

He began patting his own chest, even coughing up some blood, though his confidant suspected he did that to himself.

The explosion in the armory left them covered in dust, but no one saw an issue. They didn’t question the garrison’s mistake come dawn, though Kong replaced the guards stationed there, leaving the originals back at the Headquarter temporarily for logistical duties.

Fisher Tiger’s Wanted Poster spread across The Sea with the flap of the News Bird’s wings, and even the Dragon Palace Kingdom saw some previously absent individuals with special identities, envoys from the World Government.

It wasn’t long from Mary Geoise to the Shampodi Islands, and he came with the World Government’s urgent orders. At this time, they finally remembered that the Dragon Palace Kingdom was still an affiliate country of the World Government.

Their purpose here was simple: to demand that the Dragon Palace Kingdom hand over Fisher Tiger.

Neptune didn’t refuse, stating that as long as they captured Tiger, he would be handed over. However, whether or not to send people to capture him was another matter.

Before his action, Tiger had discussed many things with Neptune and Otohime, and they were the only ones who knew what Tiger had gone through. Moreover, Tiger had said before acting that regardless of success or failure, he would not return to Fishman Island anytime soon.

The identity of an affiliate country is still important for Fishman Island. Without this status, their situation would only get worse.

Meanwhile, the fish-men who learned about Tiger’s actions were excited.

The predecessor of Fishman Street was a large orphanage, which somehow turned into what it is now.

It is home to many unemployed residents of Fishman Island, and Tiger held great renown among them. Now many intended to join Tiger, like Ah Long, who had already begun gathering his followers.

Even a few fish-men who originally followed Mandfeish had the same idea and were currently bidding farewell to Mandfeish.

”Brother Mandfeish, we...”

”Go on, go on. It’s not like you’ll never see me again. If it doesn’t work out, just mention my name; it’s still somewhat useful on The Sea.”

Not just somewhat useful, but quite useful, actually. Because the name ”Kaidou II” along with his similar abilities made some really think he was Kaidou’s son, and rumors even circulated in some places that he was Kaidou’s successor.

”I knew you guys were going, so here’s a parting gift for you.”

Mandfeish tossed over a box; it was an arms sample originally brought by Kojiro. The Dragon Palace Kingdom had refused to procure in this regard, so the batch was stored here ever since, now just happening to come in handy.

Though just samples, they were still quality weapons. Mandfeish brought only a bit, and Kojiro had now found sales opportunities for the rest.

Despite the number of fish-men being numerous, apart from Tiger, most followed the orders of Ah Long and Jinbe. As for Macro’s trio, who trafficked their kind, Kojiro had no respect for people like them.

Because of Tiger’s actions, the takoyaki vendor Hachi also planned to close his shop and head out to sea. Kojiro provided him with some weapons, telling him to talk with Ah Long.

This wasn’t just friendship aid; Mandfeish acted due to the camaraderie with those small followers, while Kojiro was purely conducting business.

Looking at the weapons Hachi brought, Ah Long was very pleased, but he didn’t buy any, finding them too expensive, knowing that in other places he could buy ten times the quantity for that amount.

Ah Long might treat his kind well enough, but he was greedy and stingy, seeing no need to spend this amount. The physique of a fish-man didn’t really rely on such weapons.

Although no orders were opened with Ah Long, Jinbe showed interest in the weapons. Yet he faced a similar awkward issue; he was willing to buy the arms but had the opposite problem to Ah Long.

One was rich but unwilling to spend; the other wanted to buy but had no money.

The salary of the Dragon Palace Kingdom’s military head wasn’t small, but he had many expenses, and there wasn’t enough saved to buy these weapons.

”Can’t you make it a bit cheaper?”

”Mr. Jinbe, I’ve already given you a 20% discount. These weapons have much higher precision than regular ones, and are waterproof and moisture-resistant. They won’t be affected even in underwater raids, and the special bullets even allow underwater firing. This price is already very cheap.”

Although now, like Ah Long, he didn’t much like humans, he wasn’t as extreme, not holding hate toward everyone, especially not people like Kojiro, with whom he got along well.

”But...this... can I write an IOU?”

”Regrettably, Mr. Jinbe, we don’t support loans, but if you are willing to help with a small task, that may be negotiable. Do you still remember the people who were imprisoned for abducting Rushaka not long ago?”
