Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 482: Chapter 481: The Most Dangerous Is, of Course, the Audience

Although Lurantis’s arm is made of petals, it can absorb the power of sunlight. The internal high-temperature scythe can easily melt through steel plates. Whether for hunting or defense, it’s a formidable weapon.

However, both the Solar Blade and Solar Beam, despite their power, have the same drawback: they require charging, so they can’t deal a fatal blow in a swap battle. Other than this, everything else is quite similar to real combat.

King and Shaina, as the remaining kindred spirits, have always gotten along well. As their deputy, Emmalyn also understands what kind of person Drake is. Now, she seems to be gracious, but once the fight starts, she will not hold back.

So Emmalyn chose to attack first. After crossing her arms, a whirlwind surrounded her body. Simultaneously, many pink petals appeared. Under her control, a large number of petals scattered in all directions along with the whirlwind.

Petal Blizzard, the falling flowers attack all surrounding enemies like flying snow. The wind pressure also affects the opponent’s movements, with the sharp petals blocking the opponent’s vision while attacking.

As soon as Emmalyn used this skill, a chorus of curses erupted around her.

”Hey hey! Watch where you’re going!”

”We are the audience, isn’t such a wide-range attack inappropriate?!!”

This was their boldest moment. The people above were busy with their own battles and didn’t care who was protesting below. Similarly, no one was attending to their safety.

It was clear that most of the front rows of the audience were empty, which was characteristic of the Hundred Beasts Pirate Crew. You could sit anywhere during swap battles if you had the guts—even next to Kaidou.

The risk is that when Kaidou gets excited, he might pat you on the shoulder or thigh. Not many people like ending up in the hospital from just watching a match, so there are no ordinary members around Kaidou.

As for the other positions, you could sit up front if you have confidence in withstanding the battle’s aftershocks. Emmalyn’s attack is an example. Such a wide-range attack also affects the front-row audience.

As the attack approached, Tesoro made a quick move to hide behind Queen. In such moments, hiding behind Queen was much safer, while Kaidou nonchalantly allowed the attack to hit him.

Others also had their own defense methods. The most extravagant was on Yamato’s side, where Diancie directly raised a diamond barrier, blocking all the scattered petals. Because of the diamond’s transparency, this barrier did not affect their continued viewing of the match.

Zeraora utilized dense electric current defense. Though neither he nor Setsuna feared this level of aftershock, unlike Kaidou, he didn’t enjoy the feeling of attacks landing on him.

As for Perona... the attack went right through her body. At the moment, her body was peacefully sleeping in Kuma’s embrace, while only her Spirit Body was watching the battle.

This is one source of her night-owl habits; she can let her body rest while her soul leaves the body to do other things.

Those without skills could only watch from afar; without even this ability, they could only watch Rotom’s live broadcast from a distance. However, this would be looked down upon within the Hundred Beasts; after all, it’s a sign of cowardice.

”Emmalyn, this little trick... is useless!”

Electricity erupted from Drake’s body, with her eyes filled with electric light. The contents of her vision were entirely different from that of ordinary people.

In her eyes, the petals gradually became transparent, and the world turned grayish-white. This is her ability to see through things. Although she could see through some things, she couldn’t see through color, nor could she see through certain special items like biological bodies.

Shaina’s mask, being part of Blaziken’s body, couldn’t be seen through. King’s mask, containing some special Pokemon materials, couldn’t be seen through either.

But there was no problem with Emmalyn’s petals.

Enduring the damage from the petals and wind pressure, she let out a series of roars, lunging forward like a lioness.

Because after Emmalyn unleashed the Petal Blizzard, a light orb appeared above her body.

Anyone could tell that the light orb above her head seemed ominous, and Drake didn’t want to wait for Emmalyn to finish charging. Zoan-type battles always involved claws and teeth, and her claws charged with electricity continuously struck Emmalyn.

Her battle wasn’t as elegant as Lurantis’s, only the wild ferocity of Luxray. However, most of the current on the claws was resisted by Lurantis’s attributes, with the real damage caused by sheer brute force.

After Emmalyn endured several claw strikes, the sunlight orb above began fusing into her body, and her mantis-shaped arms became enveloped in light.

”You’re about done... right!”

Emmalyn crossed her arms and slashed toward Drake, but the attack was dodged with a backbend, strands of hair falling and the smell of singed hair reaching Drake’s nose.

The charged Solar Blade was not over. Although Drake dodged the first round of attacks, Emmalyn soon turned the scythe, and the huge light blade slashed towards her in an X-shape.

Boom!

The ground bore a giant X-shape, and a charred wound appeared on Drake’s thigh.

”Are you trying to kill me? Just because I owe you 20 million Belly and haven’t paid back?”

”Don’t be ridiculous, if I kill you, who will pay me back? You can definitely take that hit, at most you’ll be laid up for half a month.”

”Tch, you’re just seeking revenge, with this interest, I won’t pay you a dime!”

”I never expected you to be able to pay anyway, plus you’ve been secretly using my limited edition makeup...”

After a brief exchange, they resumed fighting, the wounds on their bodies accumulating more and more....

”Hmhmhm, such impressive young talents, Yamato, pay attention. You must surpass them by far.”

Kaidou continued instilling the idea that strength is paramount in Yamato, and she wasn’t the only one being educated. Although the Kozuki Family wouldn’t be invited to internal celebrations like weddings, Kozuki Hiyori would attend every large-scale swap battle.

Despite this being somewhat forced.

”General Hiyori, don’t you find these battles exciting? The stronger our officers are, the safer Wano Kuni will be.”

King said this objective fact from his perspective, that the stronger the Beasts are, the safer Wano Kuni will be, although it meant nothing to the Kozuki Family.

The safety was for the Beasts’ Wano Kuni, not the Kozuki’s Wano Kuni. This statement was the biggest ironic remark for Kozuki Hiyori. Moreover, she couldn’t refute anything.

Both she and her remaining Household Attendants understood this was the Beasts’ regular show of military might.
