Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 458: Chapter 457: Genesect’s Girlish Heart

In battle, obeying the reasonable orders of the local pirates was part of the instructions Genesect received, so she did not attack immediately. For the first generation Pokemon created by Arceus, his orders meant obedience down to their very core.

As long as he didn’t go insane and desire the world’s destruction, no matter what he did, the Pokemon were his most reliable assistants.

”Just attack already, you time-wasting fool.”

”Attack is ready...”

Red light flickered in Genesect’s compound eyes. Her compound eyes were equipped with the ability to detect heat, combined with the cannon at her back, it locked onto targets like a radar. Then the slots on the cannon began to change color as she chose the appropriate attribute for the attack.

Meanwhile, the lead pirate on the pirate ship on the sea flew up from the sinking vessel, already growing a pair of white wings on his back. His body became much more robust, and his hands and feet turned hoof-like.

Zoan Type, Mythical Model, Horse-Horse Fruit, Pegasus Form, a very rare mythical species. The ability to fly is quite rare on the sea, and with the enhancement of wings and the Zoan-type body, he was somewhat renowned in the first half of the Grand Line.

The reason for firing the cannon was simple: plunder. Based on previous experience, using the cannon to intimidate the opponent first.

If they were weak, he would plunder them; many would obediently hand over their money to save their lives. If they were strong, he would turn tail and flee. The ship’s engine wasn’t bad, and usually, no one could catch up to him.

This behavior kept him from much trouble, but today, for some reason, the other side ruthlessly sealed off all his escape routes with overwhelming cannon fire.

Even with a little thought, it was clear that he had kicked an iron plate this time.

Surviving the gunfire, he wanted to escape. But as soon as he took off, a beam of light shot at him from afar, and the immense pain nearly caused him to faint. The intense paralyzing sensation caused his body to stiffen at that moment.

As the ace of the Bug Type, Genesect’s attacks were exceedingly powerful. Except for some Super Rookies, pirates without Haki had little chance against Genesect.

In the past, many Super Rookies of the Worst Generation were helpless against Peacekeepers. Although there were many opponents in the New World, Genesect was as effective as a Peacekeeper against small fry.

Not to mention, Genesect could switch attack attributes based on the situation. Unless it was Kuma’s PX-0 original body modification, ordinary Peacekeepers couldn’t compare to Genesect.

Genesect’s attack was only the beginning. Watching the seawater below, the struggling pirate knew that falling into the sea was a slow death for him.

However, his body stopped mid-air as Mandfeish hovered in the sky, clutching his ankle with scaly hands and holding him upside down.

”Another Zoan type? What a pity, you’ve disturbed my mood.”

Pirates show no leniency to captives unless it’s a specific target. Otherwise, how to deal with someone is entirely up to the crew’s mood, and Mandfeish was in a foul mood.

Without giving him a chance to explain, Mandfeish plunged him into the water.

Though Mandfeish had acquired the ability to fly after evolving, his true battlefield against an enemy was underwater. Non-ability users couldn’t stay long underwater, and ability users would lose stamina.

But he wouldn’t. Underwater, he could maximize his advantage, a unique strength of Water-type Pokemon Ability Users.

The result of the battle was inevitable. If he couldn’t defeat another ability user underwater, and one who had already taken a hit from Genesect’s cannon, the number on his shoulder would have to be erased.

Soon, a long horn sounded across the island, signaling the crisis was averted. The island’s inhabitants emerged from their basements after hearing the sound. They were used to such events, though this time it ended faster than usual.

As for the start, alarms weren’t even needed. As soon as the sounds of battle reached them, they knew what to do — a basic survival knowledge for living in the New World.

Though there was risk, they at least had a chance to seek shelter. In contrast, residents of lawless islands without protection didn’t even have that opportunity.

The residents of the New World weren’t interested in who wrote the laws, as long as those rules didn’t threaten their survival and allowed them to live safely, they’d support the ruler. Hence, Sea Emperors generally enjoyed a good reputation on their turf.

With the battle over, the island’s people resumed their normal lives. Salvage teams went to the wreck site to recover supplies, hoping to find anything valuable on the sunken ship.

This activity also helped offset the ammunition used during the attack. Meanwhile, Mandfeish realized one issue — Pierman only mentioned that Genesect had chosen his private island as a nesting ground but hadn’t said where.

Therefore, he followed Genesect’s movements but felt something was amiss. The aquatic theme park was designed by a specialist found by Tesoro from the Red Earth Continent.

Based on the island’s features, there were many themed areas, including a wetland park.

Now, the central structure of that park had been occupied by Genesect.

”Do you need something?”

”Uh... I’m just checking out where you live.”

”I like this wetland. The master said we could choose our nesting spots. I favor that building. Is that a problem?”

It was designed as a private park for Rushaka, catering to a more feminine aesthetic. Genesect, assigned there, happened to be female. With Arceus’s prior promise, she made her choice accordingly.

”It’s fine, of course. However, people might occasionally stay in those buildings. Could you watch over them a bit?”

”My task is to protect the island, including all its inhabitants.”

”That’s good. By the way, do you have any specific dietary preferences? The water is mostly ornamental fish, so it’s best not to target them. I’ll have someone arrange food for you.”

Ultimately, Mandfeish and Genesect struck up a series of friendly agreements. Although there was now another Pokemon on his private territory, it wasn’t entirely a loss.

In the following time, Mandfeish enjoyed the private amusement park with his wife and another’s sister. Tesoro was filming on Fishman Island with his wife, while Jack returned to Ghost Island with souvenirs, and the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center had some new patients.

”Another one? Weren’t they told to wear insulating gloves when collecting wool? How many have been paralyzed now?”
