Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 457: Chapter 456: You’re Making It Hard for Me to Save Face

The residents of Fishman Island, regardless of age or gender, mostly have a longing for the Shampodi Islands because that is the Paradise they dream of.

After leaving Fishman Island, you just need to follow the roots of the Sun Tree Eve all the way up, and you will eventually reach the Shampodi Islands, which is the land where the most contact occurs between fish-men and mermaids.

From the water, they can see people playing in the Soap Bubble Park, which is something Fishman Island doesn’t have, so they inevitably yearn for it. Even someone like Ah Long has a unique longing for the Shampodi Islands.

Ah Long Park is a product of his imitation of Soap Bubble Park, and some fish-men or mermaids have secretly landed on the Shampodi Islands. The lucky ones can return smoothly, while the unlucky ones are captured and turned into slaves.

If you want to pursue a mermaid, taking her to a theme park is definitely the best choice, provided you can ensure her safety. Otherwise, it’s better not to take her to the land and cause trouble for people.

Mandfeish has that confidence. As the time of evolution grew longer, Mandfeish’s control over the abilities of Gyarados also became stronger, transforming from an obscure Scout Captain to a minorly famous High-Level Official.

Moreover, there are two flags fluttering on the island, the largest umbrella of protection in the New World.

”Feish...”

”I noticed last time in Shampodi that you didn’t have enough fun, but there’s no way, that place is a mix of all sorts, and it’s not good to stay too long. Here, you can play for a few days without any issues.”

Next to him, Sharley pulled the hood over her head and then wheeled herself aside. This time it wasn’t for divination; what her eyes saw told her that it was better to stay a bit farther away now.

She already smelled that sour scent of love. As the sunset gradually sank into the sea, she lay by the window, watching the disappearing sun lost in thought. Compared to the sunlight brought by Eve, that feeling was very special.

...

The next day, after adjustments, the amusement park’s equipment was ready for use. Sharley, who arrived at Mandfeish’s private territory, temporarily left her wheelchair. To facilitate the movement of the mermaids, the park was built as a water park, with flowing swim lanes leading to most areas of the island.

”Sharley, I told you not to always worry about your divination. You see, isn’t everything fine now?”

Having arrived at his own domain, Mandfeish felt that nothing unexpected would happen anymore and thus brought up Sharley’s issues with divination. Because of those divinations, she sometimes seemed constrained in her actions, which Mandfeish saw as very negative.

As he was speaking, some sponge-like things suddenly fell onto their heads.

”Is this... cotton candy?”

Seeing the colorful cotton candy falling from the sky, Sharley and Rushaka looked puzzled. When they looked up, they could only see pink clouds, from which the cotton candy descended.

”Cotton candy rain, a feature of this island. Occasionally, cotton candy falls from the sky. After all, this is the New World, where such abnormal phenomena are quite common.”

Compared to those eerie sea areas where knives rain down, having cotton candy here is a blessing. Even if it was replaced by hard candy like lollipops, it would still be a lot to endure.

Living in the New World, pirates are accustomed to its bizarre weather that defies logic, but for the mermaids, everything on land is a new experience, and Mandfeish was acting as their guide.

”This island used to belong to the BIG MOM Pirates, but later it was traded to us. That was the Great Pirate as famous as boss Kaidou, the world’s most powerful female pirate, though not as strong as boss Kaidou.

As long as our flag is hoisted in the New World, other pirates have to steer clear, and even the Navy won’t easily engage in battle with us. Enjoy the charm of the land.”

Boom!

Just as Mandfeish finished speaking, the sound of an explosion rang out nearby, and at that moment, he felt a bit embarrassed. After all, he had just claimed no one dared to cause trouble here, and seeing the crystal ball in Sharley’s hand, Mandfeish looked slightly awkward.

”Ahem, this was an accident, purely an accident, Rushaka. You guys go back to the villa over there and wait for 30 minutes. I’ll be right back after taking care of what’s happening over there.”

With a bit of embarrassment, Mandfeish sent Rushaka and the others back to the room, and as soon as he closed the door, his expression completely changed.

Those weren’t their cannons. Due to different processing techniques, the cannonballs of the Hundred Beasts Pirates are slightly different from others, and as a veteran, he could immediately tell.

He then transformed into Gyarados and flew toward the source of the explosion, but Mandfeish didn’t notice that at the same time, on his private island, the eyes of Genesect shone with a flash of red light.

...

”Pierman, give me an explanation, what are these guys?!”

”Brother Mandfeish... those pirates are just acting out, nothing I can do.”

Pierman expressed helplessness, shrugging it off as an uncontrollable factor.

Lately, they’ve been pretty well-behaved, partly due to Hancock’s cleanup for the Seven Warlords of the Sea in the first half. The Sea Emperor did make a name for himself, ending the days of frequent challengers. However, pirates in the first half didn’t think so.

Now that the window period of the cleanup is over, a new wave of pirates has arrived at the place where their dreams begin and end.

”Damn it... coming at this time, of all times. Saturated bombardment, send those guys to feed the fish!”

On an ordinary day, he might have checked what kind of pirates they were or if there was any recruitment value, but now there’s no need. He was in no mood to see them.

The nearby sea areas were already marked, and after simple calculations, the coastal defense artillery on the island began to adjust their firing range. Unlike Mandfeish’s annoyance, the pirates under his command were even somewhat excited about it.

If it weren’t for these annoying pirates, they wouldn’t have any battle merits to their name.

As the bombardment adjusted, the quality armaments produced in Wano Kuni began to showcase their power. The opponents had no chance to counterattack and were paralyzed on the sea surface under the intense bombardment.

”People’s brains these days are getting worse. Can’t withstand even this level of attack and still dare to provoke?”

Watching the pirates who couldn’t even withstand the first round of cannon fire, Mandfeish’s voice carried a hint of helplessness. If this had been a few years ago, those who dared to act like this wouldn’t have been short of a boarding battle, as pure artillery fire wouldn’t be enough to deal with such enemies.

”Surviving number, one. Signs of life are still present on the ship.”

A slightly mechanical female voice came from behind Mandfeish as Genesect GT-2 appeared behind him.

”Target has been locked. Do you need an attack?”

The light cannon behind Genesect had been fully charged and was now awaiting Mandfeish’s command.
