Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 483: Chapter 482: The Overprotective Brother Maniacs’ Consensus

Honestly just be your own mascot, and there will be no lack of wealth and glory. If you dare to cause trouble, these officers’ weapons can turn from protectors to enemies at any time.

Although Hiyori inherited Kozuki Oden’s bloodline, she did not inherit his physique and vision at all. She could not understand the battle below, only able to exclaim how strong, how powerful.

However, Kikunojo and Denjiro are different. They have a clearer understanding of strength. A few years ago, their understanding was only that Kaidou was an unbeatable monster, and the Three Disaster were all powerful officers.

But over the years, they have watched as the Hundred Beasts Pirates’ monsters have increased, and the number of officers has gradually grown. Most critically, the children born in these years are far more familiar with the Hundred Beasts Pirates than the Kozuki family.

They may not know Kozuki, but they know Hundred Beasts. Food, clothing, housing, and transport, everything in Wano Kuni is closely related to Hundred Beasts, especially the special treatment in the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center for pregnant women.

Childbirth has always been like passing through a gateway to hell; everyone has their own family. Advanced medical technology reduces the consequences of difficult births. For their families’ sake, even the older, more conservative generation, their children would choose to go to the hospital.

This is a subtle influence, and the goal of Hundred Beasts is gradually being realized. For young people, the General of the Kozuki family is just a high-up figure who appears only during festivals, not as impactful on their lives as Pokemon.

Even families that are traditional have people developing this concept, let alone families like Kentaro’s, who already live with Pokemon in Wano Kuni.

What continues to frustrate them remains the classroom; in history class, they will tell the story of Kozuki Oden, narrating frankly the things Oden did. They couldn’t refute even if they wanted to, because those foolish things were done by Kozuki Oden.

The teachers appointed by Hundred Beasts didn’t deliberately tarnish him because there’s no need. A bit kind but brainless fool was the definition they gave Kozuki Oden, and most people have accepted this outcome.

As King boasted of his martial might, the battle between Emmalyn and Drake also came to an end. Relying on her type advantage, Emmalyn won, though her practical experience was indeed much richer than Drake’s.

Compared to Drake’s berserk style, her combat was more rational. When Drake’s initial offensive failed to have an effect, she had basically lost as the arena was not friendly to this berserk style.

After all, these battle maniacs are most adept at trading injury for life, which affects their performance in positional battles with kill restrictions.

”The...the match is over! Miss Emmalyn defended her position, let’s congratulate the winner!”

Ann, hosting such an event for the first time, felt a little excited inside; these battles were far more thrilling than ordinary activities. It was also her nature; otherwise, she wouldn’t have become someone who specializes in hosting pirate events in the original timeline.

Lack of connections was only one aspect; if you can’t accept it, there’s no way. Although she was currently a little stage-shy, it was just a matter of getting used to it.

Emmalyn pulled up Drake and then handed her a few bottles of unlabelled potions.

The wound medicine specially provided to internal Hundred Beasts officers, previously only used in major battles, but positional battles were an exception; the battles they would go through usually weren’t limited to one. To reduce the battle duration required, today’s potions were supplied without limit.

And Emmalyn and Drake’s battle was not the end but a beginning where anyone who wanted to advance or defend their position had already started to act.

”Zeraora, I’ll step away for a moment; I estimate they’re going to be restless again.”

Usually, not many people challenge her, but during the annual positional battles, most people become restless. The signs aren’t prominent on her, but if you look closely at her nails, you can see the pattern of the number 1.

This is according to personal habit; some people like to be ostentatious, while others don’t like to attract attention. Daifugo writes his number directly on his face, as if afraid others can’t see it.

As for Setsuna, she uses this number as nail polish; if not looked at closely, the position of that number wouldn’t be visible.

Moreover, Setsuna usually doesn’t face many challenges, as most people wouldn’t rashly challenge the first place; the tenth place usually receives the most challenges. But this time is different; Setsuna meets an old acquaintance.

”Mandfeish? Didn’t you say before that the third place was enough for you?”

”That was before; actually, I’m about to get married, and for the days ahead, I need to work harder, don’t I?”

”Makes sense, but I won’t hold back. Otherwise, Zeraora’s face wouldn’t look good either.”

Mandfeish and Setsuna walked out; as the challenger, he had the qualification to take the home ground advantage. As a water type Pokemon Ability User, places with water were their battle grounds, so Mandfeish’s battlefield was in the ocean venue.

Similar challenges also occurred elsewhere; for example, No. 4 Babanuki challenged No. 2 Elizabeth.

Although it’s just a simple positional battle, there are plenty of complicated things in it, such as issues of attribute restraint between Divine Favorer, causing occasional closed-loop situations in the arena.

That is to say, the second can’t beat the first, the third can’t beat the second but can beat the first, creating a bizarre scenario. When this happens, a cycle endurance battle will occur, watching who in the battle can’t hold on first and exits. However, this kind of thing is still rare.

...

Geodude and Gigalith were repairing the arena damaged by Emmalyn’s battle, although there’s more than one arena, after all, you have to queue up. At this time, Ulti was also dragging Page One to register, planning to start the challenge from the last Numberer.

They also have the qualification to participate in battles, and, although they are still children, those abilities are no joke. Most of the lower rankings are given to the beasts, and really may not be the opponents of the current Ulti and Page One.

And most of the elders within the Hundred Beasts have accepted the notion that the children are all monsters; they can’t achieve awakening Supreme King at eight or sparring with a lenient Kaidou for three days and nights at a young age.

But some don’t know, positional battles don’t have privileges. Whoever registers first goes first.

Even though many were staying up late last night, Ulti and Page One live on Ghost Island, so they can register directly upon waking up.

It’s different for Sasaki, who lives in the Udon quarry, so he was a bit annoyed when he saw Page One and Ulti lined up in front of him.

”Brats should go home and play house. Standing next to big brother Kaidou is too early for little ones like you; how about sparing some time for adults?”

Ulti hadn’t gotten the chance to retort him; a big hand suddenly rested on Sasaki’s shoulder, and Jack’s muffled voice sounded from behind him.

”Who are you calling a little one?”
