Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 472: Chapter 471: Gigantamax Currents and Lapras

This world is dominated by the ocean, and whoever can master the special ocean currents can gain the advantage. Judicial Island, Navy Headquarters, and the Undersea Prison are connected by a closed Triangle Sea Flow, establishing a rapid communication channel.

The locations of these constructions also took the ocean currents into account. Similarly, Umit became the Sea Transport King due to some secret currents, but no ocean current above water is as safe as below.

If sailing on the surface, there’s always a chance of encountering other ships, but underwater is different. Submarine technology isn’t advanced, and there aren’t many weapons for underwater targeting.

Currently, the situation of the Fishman Race is still quite good. Once a suitable number of fishmen are gathered, the Hundred Beasts’ unique underwater transport team can be established.

Some secret items just need proper waterproofing and can arrange everything from underwater. Although there are no special ocean currents within their territory, Arceus has begun to change the environment.

The Splash Plate continually emits an invisible energy, spreading through the ocean currents to the nearby sea areas and gradually sinking into the seabed sediment.

It seems like nothing has happened, but the Magikarp living in the affected ocean currents seem to have noticed something, even their body movements have become more powerful.

Every world’s ocean is different. In the One Piece World’s ocean, because of the abundant special components, ability users are restrained, but in oceans of other worlds, without these particles, ability users can swim freely.

Similarly, some special things exist only in the Pokemon world, like the Dynamax Domain in some parts of the Galar Region.

There, Pokemon may experience a gigantification phenomenon, which can happen to any Pokemon, granting them immense power after dynamaxing.

Some individuals can experience Gigantamax, which not only enlarges them but also brings unique forms and exclusive Gigantamax Moves.

However, in the Galar Region, dynamaxing can only occur in specific venues. Currently, Arceus’s actions are increasing the combat power of the underwater transport team.

Pokemon like Gyarados are not suitable for transport, neither in temperament nor in size. The best situation is a gentle temperament, a large carrying capacity, preferably both terrestrial and aquatic adaptability.

In this situation, a batch of Pokemon formerly known as Lapras, now called Lapras, appeared in these waters.

Lapras is known as the Transport Pokemon, with a blue exterior and a gray shell, but it can’t retract into its shell like a turtle.

Besides being naturally kind, Lapras is also among the higher intelligence types in Pokemon. It is highly cold-resistant, unafraid of the Ice Sea, and can come and go freely even in cold seas, understanding human intentions more precisely.

A Gigantamaxed Lapras can even carry over 5000 people on its back shell, providing not only cargo transport but also strategic application.

...

The island guarded by Mandfeish, he and Rushaka remained here. He missed the wedding on Ghost Island, but that couldn’t be helped, as the Hundred Beasts territory needed to be guarded, and many officials couldn’t leave.

”Mooee!”

A somewhat plaintive sound came from the shore, swimming into the island along the swimming path built by Mandfeish. Although Lapras can crawl on land like turtles, they mostly live in the ocean.

Ocean > Ice > Land, this is the route Lapras chooses to travel.

”Fish, did you hear a sound?”

”I heard, it’s probably something arranged from above, testing some new things this time.”

Saying this, Mandfeish looked towards where the sound came from.

”Brother Mandfeish, I’m here.”

Besides a few Lapras, there was also Jack. The first-time traveling Lapras didn’t know the way, so fishman Jack acted as the navigator to ensure they reached the destination.

But this was just a one-time thing. Once they visited, Lapras would remember the island, and on their second visit, they wouldn’t need a guide.

”These are...”

”Yes, Arceus-sama’s newly created creatures. They’re here to conduct a transport experiment this time.”

He patted the specially sealed box on Lapras’s back, opening it to reveal a dry sheet of white paper with no signs of getting wet. In addition, some special materials needed by the island were also sent over by Lapras.

This included some fragile items. Overall, there were no significant issues with the transport quality, and the safety aspects were tested en route.

In the deep sea, piracy isn’t a concern. The only potential threats to Lapras were sea beasts or Sea King Types, but this time the transport went very smoothly.

Ordinary sea beasts are no match for Lapras, and during this voyage, they didn’t encounter any Sea King Types. As long as they don’t enter the Windless Zone, encountering Sea King Types is very unlikely.

As long as they avoid their living areas, Sea King Types are mostly too lazy to leave the Windless Zone.

Rushaka stroked Lapras’s neck, feeling a cool sensation on her hand. In summer, riding a Lapras would likely feel very comfortable.

Subsequently, two Lapras returned to the water to test the full-speed return to Ghost Island. Previously, due to Jack, Lapras couldn’t advance at full speed.

Because Jack’s weight was too large, in his adolescent growth spurt, he grew rapidly. Without dynamaxing Lapras, it would seem awkward for him to sit on one, so he accompanied alongside.

Lapras is among the faster types in Water-type Pokemon, and this time, it was a new speed collection.

Seeing the Lapras re-enter the water, Jack also sent a message back to Ghost Island.

But those investigating Pokemon weren’t limited to just the Ghost Island side. At this time, Vegapunk in the research lab also paused his research due to certain circumstances.

”Interesting, are these creatures really this intelligent?”

Initially, some people captured two Gyarados and sent them here. After some study, Vegapunk successfully developed a mechanism to control sea beasts.

Controlling ordinary sea beasts posed no problem, and initial tests on Gyarados were also successful. He thought he’d developed a flawless control device, but an unexpected incident occurred in a recent experiment.

The Gyarados used to emit some sounds during tests in the sea, which he initially ignored, but in the last experiment, more Gyarados appeared nearby and managed to take away the two test subjects.
