Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 500: Chapter 499: The Elephant-Elephant Family Brought by Doflamingo

Sometimes, just a little bit of help can completely change a person’s destiny. Tesoro deeply understands this. If it weren’t for meeting Yamato, he couldn’t imagine what might have happened.

Therefore, he helps some people as much as he can.

The response on Fishman Island was quite good, and Fishman Mining also gained a batch of new employees. However, Neptune understood that what the movie brought was not only opportunity but also danger.

The movie showcased the beautiful side of Fishman Island, which could bring friends with good intentions, but also enemies full of malice.

There was one thing he didn’t tell Otohime, and that was the weapons order that came along with the film reel. Perhaps it was time to consider this matter.

On the other side, the Sun Pirates also received a similar film, though some people didn’t want to watch it during the screening. However, Jinbe, whose attitude towards humans was gradually changing due to Tiger’s influence, watched it with great interest.

”Hey, Ah Long, aren’t you going to watch it? I think I just saw Sharley in there.”

”Tch, not interested. A movie made by humans about fishmen—they don’t understand what a fishman is.”

However, in the end, he was taken over to watch it, as there were not just humans but also fishmen and mermaids in it. His reason for watching was merely to criticize the other side’s wrongdoings.

And on the back of Zou, as foreign items were continuously brought in by Setsuna, the movie playback equipment was also introduced there. At this moment, several members of the Fur Race were debating over the existence of the term ”fish-fur.”

It was their first time seeing the scenes under the sea in a film.

On a passenger ship in the East Sea, after finishing his kitchen duties, Sanji also saw the movie being screened in the dining area through a window. Gazing at the mermaid ladies under the sea, he couldn’t help but be a bit stunned.

Not all places were screening this film. For example, in the Goa Kingdom of the East Sea, this film was considered contraband. To them, promoting such a different race was the most foolish act.

The movie subtly changed the world’s view on Fishman Island, but it wouldn’t fundamentally alter anything.

The influence of culture is a gradual process, and only years later might those who have seen the film and visited Fishman Island change some ideas and do something different.

...

After a brief rest, Yamato and Queen continued on to the island for the transaction, and the time for the trade was fast approaching.

Meanwhile, in the research lab at Punk Hazard, the metal fragments brought back by Knight had already appeared on the experiment table. A person with a slightly bulky figure and a clockwork key-like appearance on his head was currently studying them.

The ”04” on his chest indicated his identity; this was a clone of Vegapunk. To have more research time, Vegapunk had conducted miraculous research on himself, ultimately producing many versions of himself.

Shaka, representing ”Integrity,” was number one.

Lilith, representing ”Evil,” was number two.

Edison, representing ”Thought,” was number three.

Pythagoras, representing ”Wisdom,” was number four.

Atlas, representing ”Rage,” was number five.

York, representing ”Desire,” was number six.

These six clones had a peculiar connection. As long as number six, York, ate and drank, the other clones could remain in peak condition.

”Is this something Queen created?”

”Not sure, it’s just suspected to be Queen. This is some combat footage recorded by CP0. Please have a look.”

The assistant nearby opened a screen on the side, showing recorded footage by CP0 of Genosect fighting alongside Yamato and Judge before their operation.

Looking at the transforming Genosect, Pythagoras’s eyes filled with intense interest. He had researched the topic of Memory Metal but had not perfected it, only having a barely usable material that Judge mentioned as a stopgap solution.

But from Genosect’s performance, it was evident that this was a much more refined technology.

Complex instruments began analyzing the metal fragments, but ultimately found nothing. This wasn’t any known metal, and the instrument’s failure only made Pythagoras more eager.

”Interesting, interesting, has that guy Queen already touched on this field? Get out, don’t bother me, I don’t have time for you next.”

The clone of Vegapunk nearly turned against everyone, driving out the assistants before picking up new equipment to start his research.

As Vegapunk was researching how the material known as Arceus Steel came to be, Yamato and Queen reached the vicinity of Beast Island.

This island was called Beast Island not because of its abundance of beasts, but because of the unique trees growing there. These trees grew in completely unpredictable ways, resembling beast-like wood carvings.

The mountain top at the center of the island looked like the head of some unidentified beast from a distance, giving it the name Beast Island.

And at the center of the island, the Donquixote family had been waiting for two days.

Such long-distance transactions couldn’t have precise timing, and only a general timeframe could be planned. However, Doflamingo presently had a strong sense of unease.

”Trebol, when was the last time that old lady caught up with us?”

”Three months, Doffy. She hasn’t tracked us these past three months.”

Doflamingo lightly drummed his fingers on the armrest of his chair, but his expression was grim. Previously, Tsuru stuck to him like a plaster, impossible to shake off. No matter what, even if the base was changed, she would find them within half a month.

Someone was deliberately leaking his whereabouts, but he didn’t know who that person was.

”I’m telling you, Doffy, Corazon left just three months ago...”

”I hope it’s not him... Make Vergo speed things up. He’d better climb to a high enough position quickly and find out who this person really is.”

”I know, but Doffy, are you really giving away those two fruits for free? This one is okay, but that one’s an Ancient after all.”

Seeing Doflamingo didn’t wish to discuss the traitor further, Trebol quickly changed the topic.

Pointing at the two fruits on the table, Trebol hesitated. They were goods for their trade with the Hundred Beasts Pirates, the Zoan-type Eleph-Eleph Fruit Elephant Form and the Zoan-type Eleph-Eleph Fruit Ancient - Mammoth Form.

The ordinary Eleph-Eleph Fruit wasn’t much, but the Ancient one was very important to them.

”Fufufufufu, Trebol, don’t be so petty. That’s the Hundred Beasts; whether in the New World or the Underworld, they are like sovereigns. As long as we establish a connection with them, we’ll only gain more.

A small sacrifice, as long as it succeeds, will all be worth it.”
