Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 447: Chapter 446: The Illusion of Workplace Bullying

The power was granted by him, so naturally, he has the ability to reclaim it. However, many tasks didn’t require his personal intervention. The significance of the chain lies in Shaina’s absolute dominance over the other Divine Favorers, ensuring that even if problems arise, there’s no need for him to act personally.

The Red Chain is based on two Plates of rock and steel, infused with his primordial power—a special metal, unlike any material of this era.

It’s a restraint that even Dialga and Palkia cannot break free from, representing absolute superiority over ordinary Pokemon.

Apart from its hardness and ductility, its shape can also change.

One end of the chain is shaped like the Thousand Cosmos Bracelet, which can be used as a special spearhead, switching between a chain lance and a spear, and it can extend and contract within a certain range.

When necessary, this chain can also serve as a weapon like a short stick, glove, or whip.

Although Shaina excels in Kicking Skills, and King uses blades more, they are both skilled in handling guns, having learned marksmanship from their parents during their childhood, making it a traditional skill of the Lunarians Race.

However, in the pirate world, guns are considered unconventional weapons, and the signature moves associated with them are too conspicuous. Moreover, since they are proficient in other skills, they eventually abandoned the gun.

Most of the time in Shaina’s hands, the Red Chain would probably be used as a soft whip. With her character, she wouldn’t use this item unless under special circumstances.

”Understood, I won’t betray your trust. By the way, Sacred Beast Lord, would you like to take a look at this item?”

Shaina took out a small booklet, apparently several dozen pages thick, with exquisite packaging and a unique cover. Just by looking at the design, one could see it was customized, as no outsider would use the Thousand Cosmos Bracelet symbol.

With a gray background and gold trimming, and surrounded by a strong religious aura, it’s obvious what this is.

”Did Misu make this?”

”Yes, I think she has incredible talent, especially in understanding your glory, far surpassing that Sasaki. This is the doctrine she compiled recently. I’ve already read through it. Although I personally find no significant issues, it’s better if you take a look.”

In Arceus’s mind, the doctrine was merely a piece of paper, after all, it was a transaction induced by power: finding the Plate would be rewarding, very concise and clear.

Yet such a straightforward sentence had been expanded into a book-like form, something he had never expected.

”How did you manage to write so much...”

The words in the booklet weren’t densely packed, nor was there redundant repetition; at first glance, it seemed to narrate some truths.

”I shared some past events with her, and she expanded and subtly revised them, resulting in this. This is just a draft; Misu feels it’s not perfected yet.”

”That’s pretty much enough; no need to overly stress on this.”

”No worries, Misu has a knack for this and won’t waste much time on it. Besides, the children in the New Monastery love listening to such stories.”

The New Monastery is one of the new buildings appearing in Wano Kuni. The children inside aren’t orphans; they are offspring of the Hundred Beasts Pirates. Although those pirates have settled down, few are good at educating their children.

Front-line pirates often go on voyages; even when retiring, they have work to do during the day. So when faced with a monastery providing food, accommodation, and lessons, they happily send their children there. Most of these people are the new generation within the Hundred Beasts.

The stronger the person, the less the age affects them. Those lower-ranked officers don’t have the skill to be tough well into their sixties or seventies. These children raised by the pirates bear the responsibility of succession.

”It’s up to you guys. Where’s Tesoro? He needs to switch shifts with Kojiro.”

Kojiro is on external duty, not residing on Fishman Island. The exploration work there is mostly complete, just waiting for Tesoro to hand over the duty.

”I’ll go find him now.”

Meanwhile, Sasaki, who joined the Hundred Beasts Pirates not too long ago, is still questioning his life decisions.

”Is the gap really this vast...”

He considered the possibility of failing; after all, Queen is a major figure within the Hundred Beasts, esteemed enough to earn such a position, certainly not a weakling. Yet, he never imagined he’d lose so utterly.

A single move, just one move rendered him powerless to retaliate.

”Captain Sasaki...”

”Don’t call me captain; the original pirate crew has disbanded. Now you’re all part of the Hundred Beasts.”

As he spoke, Sasaki’s arm transformed. Looking at the silver-gray arm, he finally understood something: outside rumors were true.

”To evolve Zoan into a Mythical Beast type with Divine Grace... No wonder the Hundred Beasts Pirates are so fanatical. But it’s really no wonder Kaidou manages to gather people like this.”

Only by joining the Hundred Beasts and becoming a member of Ghost Island can one understand these things, like the peculiar dual-leadership system within the Hundred Beasts. Reflecting on past events, Sasaki still finds it unbelievable, but this directive left him puzzled.

”Quarry guard...”

Due to his failure in challenging for a major position, his duty internally shifted to a pending assignment. However, having gained the ability of Bastiodon, though just entering the New World, it wasn’t difficult to secure a lower-ranking officer position.

Yet he was assigned to the quarry as a temporary guard. According to Kaidou, he lacked the proficiency to become his right-hand man and should thoroughly train first. There was someone in the quarry to spar with him.

Since it was Kaidou’s demand, he raised no objections. However, when he arrived at the quarry, he found the sparring partner wasn’t even human—it was the Aggron he once encountered.

Retaining the triangle, Bastiodon still depended on its defense, with the cheekbone as its hardest part. For Sasaki, using his face to block skills would become a norm.

Aggron primarily relies on its body in battle. The prisoners in the quarry witness Aggron headbutting mountains daily, whereas Sasaki needs to endure hits in his training, so he was placed in this position.

Once he’s familiar with the internal workings of the Hundred Beasts, he’ll be reassigned. Staring at the steel beast before him, Sasaki suddenly feels targeted. However, determined to become Kaidou’s right-hand man, he walks resolutely down the path of suffering...
