Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 430: Chapter 429: The Decision

This mysterious power became the key factor for them to externally solve the Platinum Lead disease, while Caesar saw something else in it. If they could destroy Platinum Lead this way, it meant they could utilize it.

If he could integrate Platinum Lead into his weapons, then the power of his weapons would surely be further enhanced.

”Swoosh lalalala, this truly is a great discovery. But the way this paper is written... why does it seem so familiar to me?”

Caesar, planning to thoroughly research this thing, felt something was off. The writing style seemed familiar yet somewhat different, but soon he dismissed it entirely from his mind.

At the conference, the original treatment diaries began to play at triple speed. Since no one here developed photo-editing technology, the video footage was assumed to be authentic.

Misu’s symptoms of the Platinum Lead disease were so apparent that even in the footage, anyone could identify them at a glance.

”Miss Misu is also here today. All of you are giants in the medical field, and you can give her a physical examination. You’re all aware of the impact left by the Platinum Lead disease.

But now she is an incredibly healthy person. There are some examination devices on site, and you can personally conduct a physical check.”

Previously, he had already disclosed the treatment report, which was compiled by the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center’s doctors and was flawless, but these people might not necessarily believe it.

Once the examination results were out, all factors confirmed this, and now there was only one problem left: what exactly was the mysterious element they used to treat the Platinum Lead disease.

”Mr. Tesoro, what was the purple liquid on Miss Misu’s face during her treatment? Is it the reason you treated the Platinum Lead disease?”

”Ahem, that was just an experimental drug. We’ve already had more refined breakthroughs. Now onto the main topic of this conference: the medication for the Platinum Lead disease.”

A handful of very plain white tablets were then brought out.

”Our experts’ analyses indicate that while transporting Platinum Lead and the like is harmless, long-term use of products and seasonings made from Platinum Lead can potentially affect one. This medication specifically treats the Platinum Lead disease, and the sooner it’s treated, the better the results.

Each course costs only 5 million Belly, and 12 courses can completely cure the disease!”

Completely curing with twelve courses doesn’t align with profitability. The best medicine, of course, is an instant cure, such medicines exist in every world, but they are not favored by pharmaceutical companies.

They will deliberately adjust the drug’s efficacy because, to them, suppression is more important than treatment. Just take the medicine, and the illness is controlled; stop taking it, and the illness recurs. That kind of medicine is the most profitable.

However, this wasn’t Tesoro’s profit-making strategy. If Stella had already died, he wouldn’t care about this approach, as long as he could make money. But now it was different—he still had a bit of conscience left.

There are many ways to make money. His goal was to use the special drug to make a name and then use long-term health-related medications to profit, like extracting special elements from Berries.

Berries have many uses. The special Berries that enhance physical qualities are internal products, and even the exported drugs are diluted inferior versions, but there are many other effects.

For instance, beautifying hair, making skin smoother, etc. These were their medical department’s profit ideas.

Of course, five million Belly for twelve courses was already a colossal amount for many, and someone below raised an objection.

”Mr. Tesoro, don’t you think this price is too high?”

”Expensive? My friends, you all know one thing: our people have put in a lot of effort to overcome this challenge.”

It mainly referred to Queen accidentally dirtying the paper with Mochi Red Bean Soup and burning it during drying, then pulling two all-nighters to rewrite it.

”We’ve invested a lot in costs.”

It mainly referred to Diancie consuming two Pokemon Poffins while fusing with Platinum Lead.

”We need more funding to research more effective drugs.”

Referring to giving Nightin some salary so she could combine some new herbs based on the characteristics of Berries.

But what Tesoro said was indeed believable to those present, though his last words were somewhat biting.

”And furthermore, think about it carefully. Can the poor afford Platinum Lead? Would those who can afford it care about such a small amount of money? Of course, we’re not robbing anyone—you can choose not to buy it.

After all, the probability of the Platinum Lead disease occurring isn’t 100%, but the mortality rate is 100%.”

Although there was the exception of Misu, the mortality rate of the Platinum Lead disease was indeed high. Without this special medicine, it would be an unsolvable problem.

”Alright, everyone, today’s conference ends here. This medication has been approved by the World Government and will be on sale starting tomorrow. Whether to buy it is entirely up to you.”

Having said everything necessary, there was naturally no intention to continue the conference. Also, the medication contained some Berry ingredients that could improve one’s complexion, making it essentially a strong health supplement.

Given the daily habits of those nobles, taking it would evidently improve their health. To take such medicine as a health product is exactly what Tesoro hoped for.

That would make it easier to later promote his own beauty masks and such, which the women within the Hundred Beasts Pirates had already recognized for their practicality.

.....

After the conference ended, that paper started spreading wildly within the medical community, and material science also kicked off new research on Platinum Lead. However, within the headquarters of Hundred Beasts Fruit, a large amount of order information had already come through.

The nobles and royalty who had long used Platinum Lead were frightened, and since the information was made to look incredibly real, even the experts and scholars had not found any issues. Naturally, these laymen believed it and, under such circumstances, they all chose to spend money for peace of mind.

A huge flow of funds began streaming into Hundred Beasts Fruit.

Having already satisfied those above, Hundred Beasts Fruit’s actions were unhindered; however, an announcement from the World Government’s PR department turned some people into mice being chased after.

”The Freyvans Royal Family hid the truth, causing the World Government to make a misjudgment. Mary Geoise will no longer provide protection for them.”

Someone always had to take the fall for this matter, and the Freyvans Royal Family, having escaped in advance, naturally became the scapegoat.

As for why they accepted this blame and chose to bear it, while still being people chased by everyone, with the huge assets they took, nothing would happen to them. But if they dared to break this fragile peace, CP0 would be paying them a bedside visit tonight.

However, they were secretly going to buy the medication, as living in Freyvans, they still had a slight fear of this matter...
