Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 419: Chapter 418: Drugged ”Sit-Ups,” Missing Yamato’s Ulti

”Katakuri brother...”

”Don’t worry, I’ll explain it to Mom, and once she sees that guy’s corpse, half of her fury will probably dissipate.”

Katakuri rubbed his neck, the burn ointment by the Hundred Beasts worked well; although not fully healed, he could no longer feel the burn.

”Opera, go back and arrange to purchase a batch of this medicine, the chefs in the kitchen could use it.”

”Got it, Katakuri brother.”

Katakuri’s words carry great authority among his siblings, even the older Perospero needs to take his opinion into account, as he is the strongest in the BIG MOM Pirates besides Charlotte Linlin.

Moreover, because Charlotte Linlin often behaves irrationally as she ages, many of the BIG MOM Pirates’ affairs are managed by him, the second-in-command.

In addition, he has always been dedicated to protecting his brothers and sisters, earning him considerable prestige within the BIG MOM Pirates.

Purchasing burn ointment is also due to the BIG MOM Pirates’ situation, given that their ovens work almost non-stop twenty-four hours a day, and injuries in the kitchen are inevitable for the chefs.

For chefs, their hands are their second life; even the smallest wound can affect their feel, thus changing the taste of the food.

This isn’t much of an issue elsewhere, but on Cake Island, if Charlotte Linlin’s Anorexia Nervosa acts up, it’s a big crisis, so this medicine holds strategic value.

It’s no wonder that 95% of Cake Island’s damage is due to Charlotte Linlin’s own problems.

Katakuri didn’t leave immediately; unlike Whitebeard, Charlotte Linlin requires some photographs as evidence before he leaves.

However, something peculiar happened on the island — the lone hero died, fallen by his subordinates’ betrayal.

They observed the battle on the beach through binoculars; even Marco, who exited the stage first, displayed monstrous combat abilities.

Monster battles are not scary, what’s frightening is that these monsters fought to determine who would kill them.

The News Bird didn’t blacklist this group of lone heroes, so they also saw Morgans’ news report.

Initially, they had courage, but as the situation escalated, their spirits withered.

Such monsters were impossible to fight against, and in hopes of appeasing their fury, these people chose betrayal, thinking that they could trade their captain’s head for a sliver of hope.

So, while Shaina and Katakuri were dueling, those people had their own skirmish, and at the cost of over half their numbers, they killed the captain and his confidants.

Yet their actions were destined to be in vain; they all participated in those prior events, and in doing so, they lost any chance of forgiveness.

With everything concluded, they prepared to return to Ghost Island, and Katakuri also prepared to return to the Whole Cake Island with the evidence in hand.

But shortly after leaving that island, Shaina ran into new trouble.

”Big sister, it’s World Government agents.”

Spotting the cross flag on the sails, the lookout quickly made his judgment, and they directly launched an attack on Shaina’s ship.

The three Sea Emperors suddenly began targeting a seemingly ordinary newcomer, which made the World Government feel uneasy, yet they hadn’t had a chance to land earlier as Marco, Katakuri, and Shaina’s men surrounded the island.

Though their relationships were not particularly harmonious, it’s likely these pirates would temporarily join forces against the World Government’s agents, and facing three ships like this left them uncertain.

So they only observed from afar, waiting for the outcome, and eventually followed Shaina, the victor.

”Big sister, there’s something off about that ship. It’s moving fast, and our ship can’t shake them off!”

”Prepare to engage.”

Flexing her wrist, Shaina pulled out a withered herb from her bosom and popped it into her mouth.

”It’s so bitter...”

The bitterness was unpleasant, but it was followed by a restoration of strength. In Pokemon terms, the state of near-death is not true death but exhaustion, and Resurrection Grass is a potent restorative, not a miracle concoction to reverse death.

Under its medicinal effect, Shaina’s strength swiftly recovered, and by the time the pursuing ship caught up, she was at ninety percent full strength.

This shattered their plans; they expected Shaina to be weakened after two battles, aiming to take advantage of the situation, only to crash against a steel wall again.

Facing a revitalized Shaina who had mastered Mega Evolution, they were no match, and soon the wrecks added another ship to the sea.

The incident concluded here, but the casino’s betting lines made a fortune during this event.

Gamblers bet on whose hand this group would die by, and those who bet on the crew were alright, since they eventually perished at the hands of the Hundred Beasts Pirates, though many had their wagers on the lone hero’s fate.

No one anticipated that these lone heroes would infight, eventually causing everyone’s bet to lose, and the house to sweep up.

...

On Ghost Island, the departure of a large number of people left it considerably more empty, and with Yamato gone, the once lively training ground was quiet.

”Big brother Jack hasn’t returned yet.”

”Little Pei, I told you not to call that pervert big brother, and isn’t it better if he doesn’t return?”

”But sister, yesterday you also asked why sister Yamato and the others haven’t come back yet.”

”Don’t call her sister! You only have me as your sister!!”

Big brother was fine, but hearing Page One call someone else sister made her furiously defensive, hugging Page One tightly and ruffling his head, repeatedly instilling this mindset.

”Wugururu, seems quite lively, huh? Come on, it’s time to start new training.”

A slightly frightening voice emerged behind them, even making Ulti shudder.

She did miss Yamato and the others a bit; though she didn’t admit it, they were considered usual playmates now, but Ulti missed Yamato not because of that.

It was because of Kaidou.

When Yamato and the others were around, Kaidou’s focus wasn’t on her and Page One, but with Yamato and the rest gone, and Shaina away, a bored Kaidou turned his attention to them, starting his special physical training.

”No... no need, Little Pei and I have other things to do.”

”Oh? That’s not acceptable.”

Ulti soon realized she was off the ground, with Kaidou grabbing her and Page One, leaving her deeply yearning for Yamato, who could share Kaidou’s focus...
