Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 408: Chapter 407: When Diancie Studied the Periodic Table of Elements

The religious beliefs in the Pirate World are quite complex; no one interferes with them regardless of what they worship, as long as they don’t touch the rules set by certain people. However, among all religions, due to their imagery, spiders often fall within the camp of an Evil God.

This nun isn’t a member of some eccentric cult, which is why she reacted this way. But most religions don’t have unified management; as long as the religion aligns with the characteristics of the local kingdom, it’s considered legal there.

It’s very likely that two people might believe in the same god, but due to differences in birthplace, their doctrines could be entirely different.

If you’re looking for a sect with a broad influence and unified command on the sea, the Arceus Sect is one of them.

Agents from the World Government have also noticed this sect, but they just consider it a by-product of the Hundred Beasts crew. They believe it’s something Kaidou created to govern the crew.

The purpose of religion mostly serves as a tool for rulers in power, especially when the doctrine of the Arceus Sect is overly simplistic. In summary, it’s all about believing in Arceus to obtain everything, this kind of ”extremely pure” doctrine seems to be of no consequence to them.

Before long, Yamato emerged from inside with a look of disappointment. She didn’t see any other survivors.

”No need to go over there. I came from that direction; this kingdom has already been destroyed. Other than the royal family, there’s practically nothing left of this kingdom.”

Arceus stopped Yamato from continuing to explore; what they had seen was enough, no need to continue.

Actually, it didn’t take them long to come here because Freyvans’ territory is not large; in this world, the size of countries sometimes matches medieval villages. Freyvans is called the White Town because its area is very small.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be called the White Town but the White Kingdom.

”But...”

”No buts. This is what you see now. Freyvans is an exception, but there are many more countries like it. The World Government has over two hundred member states, but do you know how many Non-Adhering Countries there are?”

”But this world is not quite what I imagined....”

She wouldn’t ask stupid questions like why don’t they eat mincemeat, but she couldn’t imagine someone allowing a country to vanish for the sake of profit.

”You can’t handle these matters yet, and Yamato, your travel evaluation has come out this time.”

”Eh?! Is there such a thing?”

She didn’t know that there was a scoring system for her travels, and mentioning this now wasn’t Arceus’ usual practice.

”Your strength is decent, and your Fruit Ability has improved, but you’re too reckless, putting yourself in dangerous situations more than once. You’re far from qualified to sail independently. In summary, not up to standard.”

”But... sometimes that’s exactly how Father does it.”

”Where did you hear that?”

”Father talks about past experiences when he’s drunk...”

Yamato’s answer was somewhat unexpected, but it didn’t change the outcome.

”You should learn from what should be learned...”

Aside from inheriting Kaidou’s monstrous physique, she didn’t inherit any of Kaidou’s cleverness but instead mastered recklessness thoroughly.

”When you return, you’re not allowed to learn from him in that aspect. Also, add half an hour of theoretical lessons every day.”

”Wait, foster father, can we switch theoretical lessons...?”

To be honest, she didn’t want to attend classes, whether it’s Kaidou’s combat lessons or regular theoretical classes, but if she had to choose, she’d rather go to the training ground than attend theoretical lessons.

”No, let Queen teach you more insidious tactics, your innocence needs some counterbalance. It’s actually OK if you don’t want to attend classes.”

”Really?”

”Really, you can choose between your father or me. As long as you can defeat... no, as long as you can endure an hour under our full force, you can sail alone.”

Kaidou seems reckless but always kept risks within a certain degree. For instance, in his youth, he only targeted Prison Ships because such ships couldn’t contain him. At that stage, if he entered a Navy Base, it would be walking into a trap.

By the time he began to act recklessly, he already possessed enough strength. Yamato has two options: either make herself more cunning or gain absolute power to ignore consequences.

Kozuki Oden has been dead for several years, and to withstand an hour under Kaidou’s hand, you need at least the level Oden had back then, although Yamato is already a monster among her peers now, this situation is impossible for her.

After brief contemplation, she understood she had gained yet another course.

”Olga, take them back to the ship. Let the doctors take care of these two people. Diancie, come with me to the mine.”

The number of survivors here is comparable to the Lunarians Race, but that’s not what he needs to worry about. Although the World Government covered up the existence of Platinum Lead under the pretext of an infectious disease, Freyvans would inevitably become an empty town in the future.

Even if surrounding countries wish to mine it, they still need to wait some time, so the price of Platinum Lead will inevitably soar in the future. Taking away a lot of Platinum Lead now is very meaningful for the future.

”Diancie, let me see what you’ve learned from Queen.”

”Yes, my lord, you will be pleased.”

Diancie’s principle for creating Diamonds is compressing carbon atoms in the air. Because of her race, she’s naturally familiar with such components, and Queen’s teaching was to let Diancie understand more about elemental structures so she could extract other substances.

However, Queen’s employment of this ability somewhat deviated; apart from extracting special components, he also created a kind of special fertilizer, containing various elements needed by bananas.

”But my lord, please help me a little. That matter exceeds my capabilities.”

She can compress air around her but can’t directly mine. If tasked with extracting minerals from the earth’s crust, she can only chip away slowly.

The mine here is ready-made. Following the opening left by the tunnel, scorching flames were released by Arceus, and endless flames almost filled the entire mine. Inside, the Platinum Lead began to vaporize under the intense heat.

This was the condition Diancie needed; a soft pink glow emanated from her hands, controlling the vapors of Platinum Lead to coagulate back into ingots. These were refined Platinum Lead, with a purity exceeding even past Freyvans production.

Once it’s purified, Platinum Lead becomes harmless to humans, and under Diancie’s manipulation, there’s no excessive Platinum Lead leakage. Now, the only consideration is how to transport it...
