Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 420: Chapter 419: Kaidou Stress Syndrome

In the latter part of 1506, everyone who had gone out gradually returned to Ghost Island, and the Origin once again appeared in the seas near Wano Kuni. The barrier outside Wano Kuni had already appeared in Yamato’s line of sight.

Seeing this barrier, she couldn’t feel happy at all. To her, it meant the end of summer vacation, and she was about to return to that ”cage.”

Moreover, there was a perverted teacher waiting for her inside.

”Yamato, what are you doing?”

At this moment, Yamato was looking at the sky with a vigilant expression and had already assumed her Human-Beast Form, seemingly on guard against something.

”According to the usual practice, Father will definitely launch a surprise attack, and since we’ve been out for so long this time, it’s bound to be more deadly than usual.”

In a sense, this is a kind of syndrome, officially named Kaidou Stress Syndrome, stemming from excessive teaching from Kaidou, resulting in an overreaction.

”It would be good if you had this level of vigilance when you were sailing out there too. Don’t worry; there’s no training today. I’ve already spoken to him.”

Seeing Yamato, who was highly tense, Arceus still managed to make her relax. However, her concern was very reasonable. Knowing Kaidou’s personality, even if he didn’t make a move today, he would surely have a surprise test tomorrow.

In Yamato’s mind, her biological father, Kaidou, was far more dangerous than anyone outside, which is why she was so cautious.

The Origin smoothly entered the Hidden Port. Compared to the Hidden Port from years ago, it had undergone some expansion and renovation, making it more convenient for the Hundred Beasts Pirate Crew’s main ship to enter and exit.

However, just as she came out of the Hidden Port, Yamato looked up at the sky. She seemed to hear some screams, and two shadows gradually appeared in her vision.

”What’s that, Maria, can you see it clearly?”

Yamato shielded her eyes with her hand against the sunlight, squinting to see, but the distance was too far, and she still couldn’t make out what the shadows were.

”It seems to be... Page and Ulti?”

”That’s right, it’s those two. Yamato, you’ve been out long enough this time. I hope you’ve learned something useful.”

Kaidou, who had somehow already made his way to the ship, placed a massive hand on Yamato’s head and uttered some chilling words.

”Tomorrow, you better show me results, or else, haha, you know what will happen.”

However, Yamato wasn’t afraid because she had already understood a truth: she currently had no power to resist Kaidou.

Just like how she never knew when Kaidou appeared behind her.

So any amount of anxiety was meaningless; she could only cherish the time before tomorrow. Then she also realized a problem.

”Wait a minute, why are those two up in the sky?”

”Of course, it’s to make them progress faster. It’s just flying, yet they’ve been struggling with it for so long without learning.”

.....

”Whoa! Help! Stupid Kaidou, you bastard! Is there something wrong with his brain?!?”

This is Kaidou’s training method. Unlike the gentle slope from before, Kaidou took the two of them high into the sky and then, without a word, dropped them.

The key issue was that it was only Page One who needed to learn how to fly, yet Kaidou threw Ulti down too, supposedly to increase Page One’s sense of urgency.

They definitely wouldn’t fall to their deaths; even if they couldn’t fly, Kaidou would catch them with flame clouds midway. But he never mentioned this, so in the eyes of the brother-sister duo, this was attempted murder.

”Sis, don’t move too much, or you’ll fall off.”

In his Garchomp Form, Page One was trying hard to fly. He was only four years old, and Garchomp’s flight was different from that of birds, so all he could manage before was short-distance, low-altitude gliding.

It was like needing someone to hold the bike steady for him to ride it. Kaidou, wanting to speed up his learning process, tricked him onto a steep downward slope, strapped Ulti to the back seat, and then pushed him down, making it a death teaching method.

”You’re the best, Page; it pays off for how much I’ve cared about you before.”

”Wait! Sis, don’t touch my neck, or we’ll tip over!”

Falling at high speed, he was trying hard to maintain balance, but with Ulti’s disturbance, they almost tipped over.

.....

”Hmm... Father, why do I feel like they can’t fly?”

Watching as Ulti and Page One got closer to the ground without showing signs of flying, Yamato had a bad premonition.

”Don’t worry. Aren’t they still quite high up?”

Kaidou remained very calm, but the falling siblings felt differently.

The strong airflow from the high-altitude fall disrupted his body’s balance, and he still couldn’t take to the skies. At this moment, the scales on his body were constantly feeling the wind’s flow, and his special organ was trying to alter the air currents passing through his body.

Finally, a few hundred meters above the ground, he managed to fly successfully. Countless tiny nozzles formed under his minute scales, and using the impact from the airflow, he broke free of gliding for the first time and began truly flying.

”Haha, I knew that lad had potential. Just needed to push him a bit.”

Although Kaidou was affirming Page One, for some reason, Yamato felt something dirty had targeted her, causing her to shiver suddenly.

And when she locked eyes with Kaidou, she understood where this sense of crisis was coming from. It was certain that tomorrow wouldn’t be simple.

Yet Page One still crash-landed in the end, leaving a long crash mark on the grass of Hakumai.

”Page, are you okay, Page?”

”I’m fine, but sis, can you... next time not jump around on my back?”

With a mouthful of dirt, Page One roared helplessly. He had indeed learned to fly, but Ulti was more excited than him, causing him to flip over during the landing.

”Alright, definitely next time! Hey, Page, take me flying one more time, it’s so fun.”

”Huh?”

...

Seeing that Page One had mastered flying and was continuing to practice his flying ability with Ulti’s ”assistance,” Kaidou no longer kept an eye on them and turned away, disappearing from sight.

In the office on Ghost Island, with the successive departures of Arceus and Shaina, some documents had accumulated here, which substituting staff like Queen and Asie couldn’t handle.

”A creature or device suitable for mining in the deep sea...”

This was a report sent back by Kojiro. In his report, he confirmed the developmental potential of Fishman Island and also pointed out some issues with the mining company.

Relying solely on the manpower of the fishmen for excavation was too slow, so they needed some new large-scale machinery and ways to drive away Sea King Types, among other things.

Human power alone couldn’t solve these issues effectively, which is why the report was sent here...
