Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 437: Chapter 436: 8 Million Pokemon Grass Gods

The Weezing and Koffing were scattered in the air. Their feeding time was irregular, but that was their unique pattern, and they held a special status in Wano Kuni.

In the summer, there were always people drowning while wild swimming, and in winter, carbon monoxide poisoning incidents often occurred. Despite repeated warnings, some people would still try their luck with a nonchalant attitude.

For instance, turning off the ventilation to stay warmer, thinking that nothing would go wrong if they turned it back on soon, but by the time something happened, it would be too late.

However, the Galar Weezing, which feeds on harmful gases, could unknowingly detect these accidents. To them, it was like a kitchen suddenly ceasing operations for no reason, so their foraging behaviors inadvertently discovered some cases of carbon monoxide poisoning.

This led to a new phenomenon. Due to the national conditions of Wano Kuni, there were a vast number of deities here. Not to mention Mountain Gods and River Gods, even a chair could become a deity.

Each household had different objects of worship. Families that were spared because of Weezing began to place Weezing and Koffing on their altars, worshipping them as local deities.

They appeared almost simultaneously with the coal heating in the residents’ view in Wano Kuni, and their first appearance earned them a decent status, with similar situations occurring from time to time.

Outside the fireworks shop, there was even a stone statue of Squirtle to ensure safety, as they seemed to believe this would reduce the frequency of fires, although it was just psychological comfort, ignoring safety could still lead to explosions.

This showed that pragmatism was also very prevalent in Wano Kuni, ultimately leading to Pokemon with miraculous powers being gradually deified, which facilitated some actions by Misu.

After the conference at Tesoro’s, Misu had already returned to Ghost Island by ship, and even opened an orphanage in Hakumai, which was a key area for the Hundred Beasts due to the Hidden Port’s entrance being there, with various facilities rapidly spreading.

Apart from taking care of Rami, the most thing Misu did was evangelize. She couldn’t reach far-away places for the time being, but Wano Kuni had a large population.

So Misu’s short-term goal was to spread the blessings of the deity under the gods’ feet, turning these people into Arceus’s followers. As for the pirates within the Hundred Beasts Pirate Crew, there was no need to exert much effort in conversion.

Although there were few members who became fanatics like her in a short period of time, they already had a sense of reverence towards Arceus.

Misu prioritized evangelizing to those families who had a fondness for Pokemon, because in her understanding, Pokemon were the creations of the gods. Since they were willing to worship these creations, they should naturally also accept their creator.

This year, Wano Kuni was colder than usual, and even the Flower Capital began to snow. Overnight, the streets were covered in snow, with only the paths cleared by Carkol still revealing the road surface.

Following these tracks, the nearby residents also began to shovel the snow. With it being the off-season for farming, they either worked in factories or went to bustling places like the Flower Capital to find something to do.

Hyogoro also took a broom and quietly cleared the snow at his door, but there was an extra envelope in his mailbox.

”Who bothers to do something so redundant?”

His identity had become the former crime boss of the Flower Capital. It wasn’t that he retired voluntarily, but the current Hundred Beasts didn’t allow such things as gangs under their order.

They had the choice to legalize, do some small business, or join other groups of the Beast, otherwise, continue to rebel and be sent to the mines.

Under these circumstances, Hyogoro naturally wouldn’t persist in causing trouble. His subordinates had already been transformed under his leadership into a civil rescue organization in the Flower Capital, with many of them shoveling snow on the streets now.

It was good for these people to settle down willingly, so part of the domestic tax of Wano Kuni was distributed to Hyogoro, considered as well-paid for a management property.

Many people knew his home address, so those who sought him usually knocked directly on his door as he didn’t have any distant relatives, and naturally, no one would write to him.

”What’s up, Koyori? What are you looking at?”

”Someone wrote a letter.. is it Kojiro?”

His wife asked in confusion as she saw him holding a broom and standing in the doorway. It was then that Hyogoro noticed the envelope was signed by Kojiro.

”Hasn’t the child not been here for over half a year? I thought you had a falling out.”

”What are you talking about? Didn’t he come by before he left, he told you himself that he was going to leave for some business.”

”What kind of business takes so long? Open it quickly and see what he’s written.”

Her understanding was limited to Wano Kuni, as from birth she had never seen what’s beyond the barriers of Wano Kuni. Kozuki Oden could solve the guards of the Hidden Port using his identity, attempting to set sail himself.

However, ordinary people didn’t have that ability. For her, Wano Kuni was her entire world, and any matter inside Wano Kuni would be solved within one or two months. She couldn’t comprehend how vast the world truly was.

”Don’t rush, it seems quite thick.... Alright, you don’t need to worry, this kid is living quite well.”

Opening the envelope, he found it had postcard-like things, and the top photo was of him with a group of Mermaid clerks.

”Eh? So many Mermaids, did he go to the Dragon King’s palace? Are those strange people the guards?”

”Mermaids” were what Wano Kuni called Mermen. Until then, she thought they were creatures from legend only.

”The letter says that’s Fishman Island. Calling it the Dragon Palace isn’t far off either since it’s called Dragon Palace Kingdom. He says he’ll come visit us in a few months.”

Not only here, but the old servant at Kojiro’s house also received Kojiro’s letters. Although he had things to do, he managed to send letters back using someone else’s ship.

Those were photos he had taken during his stay on Fishman Island, allowing those who had never ventured out to see the sight.

Today, Wano Kuni was no longer in a full lockdown state. Members of the Hundred Beasts were granted the opportunity to go abroad, but the centuries of isolation made most people accustomed to a closed environment, with no wish to easily set foot outside the seas.

As Hyogoro and his wife continued to browse through the things sent by Kojiro, a group of Samurai-looking people suddenly ran down the street outside—they were the current Shinsengumi, the peacekeeping force within Wano Kuni.

The leader was an older man, originally a pirate from the Beasts, transferred internally due to declining health, and ahead of him, a black wolf was searching for something...
