Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 423: Chapter 422: Prince of the Ocean—Manaphy

The sea is vast in any world, and it’s the same in the world of Pokemon.

There isn’t just one powerful Pokemon related to water.

Kyogre, who created the ocean, Lugia, who manipulates the ocean currents, and the life Arceus intends to create this time—a Pokemon that can command marine creatures, the Prince of the Sea—Manaphy.

Manaphy doesn’t need to create oceans or change currents. Although the Sea King Type isn’t a Pokemon, and Manaphy can’t control them as freely as the Sea King can, it can still protect an area from their disturbance and persuade them to relocate.

And this highlights the difference in their dominions: Kyogre excels at creating oceans, Lugia at manipulating currents, and when it comes to creatures, it’s Manaphy’s domain.

The Splash Plate emerged from the externals, and a drop of the purest water formed by the Splash Plate appeared in this world.

The energy of the Plate continuously infused it, and the drop of water began to expand like an embryo.

As the volume gradually increased, the water-based body began to solidify, with two long antennae appearing at the top of its head, each ending with a cute round ball. Dark blue pupils with yellow sclera and yellow dot-like spots formed its eyelashes.

Two slender arms were longer than the body, but the legs were short and thick, almost merging with the body.

As a ruby-like object formed on its chest, Manaphy’s eyes adopted a new expression.

Here, many Pokemon have been transformed or created, and numerous offspring have also been bred, but compared to ordinary Pokemon, these mythical beasts born from the power of the Plates are the main highlight.

The firstborn Zeraora, the first daughter Diancie, and now the second son Manaphy—in a strict sense, mythical beasts are genderless, but he granted them a sense of gender.

Gathering these scattered Pokemon together, he could form an Arceus family.

”Mana, Master, it seems a bit cold here.”

Shivering a little, Manaphy jumped onto the head of the Swampert beside him. Manaphy’s body is composed of 80% water, making it easily influenced by the external environment.

Being the second son, Manaphy also possesses the ability to speak. At this moment, the Swampert beneath him showed no sign of resistance, even when Manaphy was touching the fin on its head.

This is Manaphy’s ability. Even without speaking, his innate power allows him to connect with other Pokemon, which is also how he commands other Pokemon in the ocean.

”Close the window; autumn nights are a bit chilly.”

A Swampert walked over, raised its hand to close the window. It was already late autumn, and the cold air from Ringo was blowing toward Ghost Island due to the wind direction, creating a cold sensation.

”Tomorrow, try going to a further area of the sea and see what results from interacting with the Sea King Type.”

Due to special currents around Wano Kuni, there are no Sea King Type nests nearby; they mostly reside in the deep sea, like in the Windless Zone or Fishman Island.

Submarine mineral deposits aren’t distributed regularly; they might be in the deep sea or near the shoals. However, due to Fishman Island’s location, mining won’t be too far from Fishman Island.

This kind of environment is bound to involve dealings with the Sea King Type.

Manaphy would need to find a genuine Sea King Type to test the effects. Those super-large Sea King Types are slightly smarter than regular ones; if it works with regular ones, it should work with the super-large ones too.

The seawater at night is relatively cold. While such chill isn’t a big deal for Manaphy, since he’s just born, and Tesoro hasn’t arrived at Ghost Island yet—there’s no rush even when Tesoro does arrive as he first needs to handle the Platinum Lead matters.

In a no-rush situation, there’s no reason for Manaphy to work overtime at night.

Yet, at this moment, the room suddenly shook twice, as if an earthquake had occurred.

”Master, this is...”

”It’s alright; you’ll get used to it. Such occurrences aren’t uncommon.”

His office is at the top level of Ghost Island, and above it is the rooftop practice field. There’s only one explanation for this commotion—Kaidou is at it again with his sudden assaults.

Soon after, with a sudden bang, the recently closed window was knocked open again. It could be seen that the window was of good quality as the glass didn’t shatter under the impact.

With the window being knocked open, Yamato appeared with a side roll, and outside the window, a strand of spider silk seemed to be swaying, indicating she swung down using Maria’s silk.

”Yamato?”

”Foster father, let me rest for a while; I’m exhausted....”

She lay on the ground, gasping for breath; it was the task given by Kaidou just now—to escape to a safe place amidst his attacks. As long as one of them reached a safe spot, today’s training would be completed.

With Kaidou’s concession and Maria’s assistance, she finally found the opportunity.

When facing Kaidou, her battle intelligence ramps up completely. At the moment Kaidou made the request, she realized where the so-called safe place might be.

Currently, there isn’t any place on Ghost Island capable of handling Kaidou. The only way to achieve safety is to deter him—the underground armory, Arceus’s office, Asie’s lab. Only these places would make Kaidou think twice.

The armory was too far; messing up the lab would make Arceus unhappy, so she chose Arceus’s office. She bet that Arceus would be working at this time, and the bet proved right.

After a long break, she finally stood up again.

”Foster father, have you created a new Pokemon again? Hello, I’m Yamato.”

”Mana, I’m Manaphy.”

A Swampert moved closer to Yamato, and Manaphy on its head extended his arm out.

”You can speak? Are you also a special Pokemon like Diancie? Can you make rubies?”

Seeing Manaphy with a red gemstone-like drop on his chest, Yamato had this misconception, given that Diancie can casually create diamonds as its body has diamonds.

”No, but I can do this.”

An image of Yamato formed from water appeared in front of her, mirroring her movements as if reflecting in a mirror. The Power of the Evergreen interacting with Manaphy’s abilities quickly bonded them together.

Though he doesn’t possess the recognition of a specialized partner like Diancie, he still considers them close companions. Relying on the power of controlling water, they quickly became inseparable.

Meanwhile, outside Ghost Island, a small boat approached Wano Kuni under cover of darkness, catching the last supply ship. Tesoro once again arrived at Wano Kuni.
