The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Fu Yu stood in front of the kitchen counter and began his culinary operation!

And the attention of the others in the kitchen was all focused on him.

Fu Yu’s knife skills were the highlight of his cooking!

After all, every time Fu Yu cut vegetables, whether it was the technique of his knife or the speed, both were extremely refined.

Fu Yu divided the prepared amount of cooked ham into two.

One half was chopped finely, and the other half was cut into plum blossom shapes.

Fu Yu had a characteristic in cutting flowers; others used a special flower knife, but he simply used a kitchen knife.

Yet in his hands, the bulky kitchen knife became light and agile.

The tip of the knife made a turn, press, and cut, forming half a petal, and after several rounds, a delicately shaped ham blossom appeared on the cutting board.

Those watching were filled with admiration!

Fu Yu carefully placed the cut ham blossoms on a plate to the side, starting to cut one blossom after another.

Wang Yulong quietly reminded Liu Zhangpeng, ”When he cuts the pork tenderloin later, pay attention to his cutting technique.”

Liu Zhangpeng immediately perked up, increasingly looking forward.

Wang Yulong asking Liu Zhangpeng to pay attention to Fu Yu’s cutting technique was not a casual mention.

But through this period of interaction and observation, he discovered that Fu Yu was very perceptive in cutting skills and had his own ideas about selecting techniques.

To be honest, cutting is the culinary skill that Fu Yu was the most skilled in, from wielding the knife to straight cuts and angled chops, to various decorative cutting techniques.

All cutting operations, Fu Yu mastered very skillfully.

After all, besides his advanced knife skills, he also improved his overall knife speed by 20%, cutting precision, and hand speed.

One could say that Fu Yu’s knife skills have now reached a state of mastery, and when he uses his knife skills, he is no longer carrying out a single cutting action.

But conducting comprehensive consideration throughout the whole process.

Which knife technique is more suitable for cutting a particular ingredient, how to cut to achieve the best results.

Often, at the initial cut, the final product effect is already considered, as well as how to adjust and improve for the impact on the presentation during cooking operations.

Therefore, when Fu Yu cuts, although his actions seem ordinary, careful observation will reveal that each of his actions actually has a unique philosophy.

It’s not blind adherence to the experience left by predecessors but rather making his own choices.

This approach made Wang Yulong truly impressed.

So when he saw Fu Yu about to showcase his knife skills, he quickly called his apprentice Liu Zhangpeng to watch closely.

This was to enlighten Liu Zhangpeng, hoping that through Fu Yu’s operation, Liu Zhangpeng could gain some inspiration and reach deeper insights.

For example...

The clever use of knife skills.

For the same dish, what kind of knife skill is suitable for what kind of cooking.

This is a very valuable question for research and thought.

As for why Fu Yu, so young, could possess such exquisite knife skills and ponder these deeper things.

Wang Yulong felt it was very understandable.

Because the only reasonable explanation is talent.

Maybe Fu Yu himself isn’t aware of what his current actions signify?

If Fu Yu knew what Wang Yulong thought, he would surely feel a bit speechless.

Because every action he makes while cutting is slowly accumulated and summarized through countless repetitions in the teaching practice kitchen.

Frankly speaking, just based on the time he spent learning in the teaching kitchen, let alone Liu Zhangpeng, even Wang Yulong might not have spent as much time cooking as him.

Fu Yu focused on his cooking operations and paid no attention to the things happening around him.

He cut the tenderloin into holly-leaf-shaped pieces measuring 6.6 cm long, 3.3 cm wide, and 0.7 cm thick.

This perfect dimension is marked in the classic old taste recipe and matches exactly with the recipe given by Liu Yunong.

It is evident that it is the most perfect slicing standard, derived through painstaking research and trials by several veteran chefs.

Fu Yu executed it very strictly.

In other’s eyes, he held the knife in his right hand, skillfully and swiftly cutting the pork tenderloin precisely.

Even without measuring, just by looking, one could visually determine that all the slices cut were identical in size and thickness, as if stamped from the same mold, with no variance at all.

The entire operation was flawless!

Seamless perfection!

Absolutely brilliant!

This set of meat slicing techniques from Fu Yu left the three closest onlookers dumbfounded.

Liu Zhangpeng immediately experienced a sense of inadequacy on the spot.

Because with just this knife technique from Fu Yu, let alone comparing it to himself, it might not even lose out to his master Wang Yulong.

Fu Yu, in his choice of knife techniques, already has strong opinions, combined with the angle and technique of cutting augmented by knife speed, this stack of holly-leaf-shaped meat slices is simply a perfect teaching example demonstration.

As for Liu Yunong, she widened her eyes in disbelief.

It should be noted that one of the challenges in cooking the dish Furong Pork is in the cutting of ingredients.

Especially since slicing meat is inherently more difficult than cutting other ingredients, the control over cutting force and angle never has a fixed standard, relying entirely on the cutter’s instinctual control.

Without a certain amount of practice in cutting, improvement is difficult!

But the cutting Fu Yu just performed was truly remarkable...

Wang Yulong, seeing this, only sighed a little.

He long discovered Fu Yu’s outstanding knife skills.

So he never thought the slicing of this dish would be a challenge.

However, what Fu Yu accomplished was simply too perfect.

And now...

Fu Yu’s cooking operation had only just begun.

He marinated the cut meat slices with salt, MSG, and spicy soy sauce, laying them flat in a bamboo basket to dry.

He removed the membrane from the pork fat, cutting it evenly into 25 pieces.

At this moment, Fu Yu’s knife skills were in full display.

He made horizontal and side cuts, making the pork fat into dice-like pieces, uniform in size, with sharp and distinct edges.

Watching Fu Yu’s fluent and smooth cutting operation, Liu Zhangpeng at this time had only one feeling.

And that was to once again completely and utterly question life.

He had frequently scrutinized Fu Yu’s handsome face.

The person was still the same person!

This was correct!

But how did his knife skills obviously improve again?

Thinking back carefully, it seemed when he first arrived, it hadn’t yet reached this level of knife mastery, right?

No, it was that initially, he didn’t focus on observing Fu Yu’s cooking operation.

When he realized Fu Yu’s culinary skills were outstanding, Fu Yu had already started learning Liu Family Cuisine.

Thinking about it, how Fu Yu’s knife skills were when he first joined, he really didn’t have much impression.

But, ever since he started paying attention to Fu Yu, every cooking operation he conducted was nothing short of perfect.

If initially, he thought Fu Yu’s level was quite similar to his own, now he had no choice but to admit that Fu Yu actually did much better than he did.
