The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The medical staff left with the patient and their family.

The dining customers who were originally watching also dispersed.

At the time, Fan Shuzhi was shouting that the restaurant’s prawns were not fresh and the shrimp heads tasted bitter, leading to the elderly person’s illness.

However, most customers didn’t take it seriously.

On one hand, the doctor’s preliminary diagnosis on the spot was bile reflux gastritis.

As long as gastritis is involved, it basically points to long-term poor eating habits in terms of diet.

It wasn’t a sudden illness.

Moreover, food poisoning doesn’t usually have such an immediate effect.

The dish had just been served, only one bite taken, and they were immediately poisoned.

These are prawns, not lethal poison, you don’t get poisoned with just a touch.

Moreover, Qianlima is an old and reputable restaurant, known for fresh ingredients and genuine quality, fair to all.

Everyone is eating the prawns, it’s a signature dish of the restaurant, and almost every table has a similar dish.

Some curious customers specifically picked up prawns from their own table, opened them, and sucked the shrimp heads.

Very tasty!

Didn’t taste bitter at all!

Others, driven by curiosity, directly reached out to pick a prawn from the elderly woman’s table, which hadn’t been cleared, and tasted it.

Quite delicious, isn’t it?

So what exactly happened?

Why would the elderly lady say it was bitter?

Remembering the elderly lady’s symptoms, it suddenly made sense.

Most likely, because she was unwell, everything she ate tasted bitter.

Besides, Fan Shuzhi is allergic to seafood and can’t even taste it. So when the elderly lady said it was bitter, he naturally assumed it was because the prawns weren’t fresh.

Thinking this way, it’s understandable.

Gao Wenjing is a cautious person, so she instructed her staff to keep this table’s dishes intact, specifically advising to properly store these dishes.

And to try to ensure all actions are visible under the surveillance camera when clearing the table.

This would facilitate investigation later on.

After all, no one knows what diagnosis the hospital will give after examining the case.

Better safe than sorry.

In the service industry, complex emergencies happen, and you have to be shrewd and meticulous, preemptively avoiding trouble and preparing responses for all eventualities.

As an experienced front hall head, Gao Wenjing quickly handled all the arrangements in the front hall, and only then had time to ask Fu Yu about the braised prawns.

”Chef Fu, you tasted it earlier, is there really no problem with this dish?”

Gao Wenjing took a deep breath to calm herself.

Indeed, as Fu Yu said, first handle the customer’s matter properly before discussing anything else!

”I’m sure. The prawns are all live ones just delivered to the restaurant, and there is no problem with the cooking flavor. It seems that the elderly lady felt unwell, so the taste was off to her.”

Gao Wenjing nodded. In fact, she was already reassured when Fu Yu tasted the dish earlier.

Fu Yu’s reaction was straightforward; he was confident there was no problem with the dish, which is why he explained it calmly to Fan Shuzhi.

And Fan Shuzhi, being allergic to seafood, had never tasted the dish.

”That’s good. As long as it’s not our restaurant’s problem, everything else is easier to handle.”

Seeing that the front hall was back to normal, Fu Yu returned to the kitchen.

He initially planned to leave directly, but now that something happened, he had to go back to the kitchen and report the incident to Zhao Meng.

Although he was sure there was no issue with his cooking, he couldn’t guarantee there wouldn’t be some mistake in the process.

Zhao Meng hadn’t expected such an incident either and didn’t dare let Fu Yu leave just like that.

Better safe than sorry.

If anything really happened to the customer, Fu Yu would definitely have to be involved in the resolution.

If Fu Yu left now, it’d be difficult to explain to the boss later.

Zhao Meng thought for a moment and said, ”You might stay a bit later today. Didn’t Sun Wei accompany them to the hospital? Wait for the results to come out, it probably won’t take long. If you make it, you can leave. If not, give them a heads-up and go tomorrow instead.”

Fu Yu nodded and went to the storage room to call Liu Yunong.

He briefly explained the situation there.

Liu Yunong understood very well.

However, today, she had planned to guide Fu Yu in preparing a very special Liu Family Cuisine dish and had specifically adjusted the menu. Missing out would be a pity.

Upon hearing this, Fu Yu felt regretful and eagerly said, ”Chef Liu, once I’ve resolved things here, as long as I can get there before ten, I will definitely come!”

Liu Yunong appreciated Fu Yu’s diligent attitude and laughed, saying, ”Alright, try to make it here.”

Mainly, the menu at Shangshi Private Kitchen changes daily, and if you miss this dish today, there’s no telling when you’ll catch it again.

There’s no help for it; after all, the private menu handed down by the ancestors is quite diverse.

Having obtained Liu Yunong’s permission, Fu Yu anxiously waited for news from Sun Wei’s end.

Meanwhile, on Sun Wei’s side, after accompanying the customers to the hospital, the finance personnel also arrived.

Su Hong specifically withdrew funds from the store’s account and transferred some money to her online bank account.

Although it’s still unclear who is responsible, it’s best to be prepared.

Having money at hand saves a trip to the bank if needed later, avoiding any delays.

On her way to the hospital, Su Hong had already understood the incident’s details.

As a staff member of the restaurant, she naturally hoped this incident didn’t implicate their store in any way.

However, the final determination of responsibility depended primarily on the hospital’s diagnosis.

When Su Hong arrived at the hospital, the elderly lady had already completed her physical examination and endoscopy and was waiting for imaging tests.

The doctors were currently leaning toward a diagnosis of bile reflux gastritis.

Because the endoscope clearly showed bile reflux and damage to the stomach lining due to bile, changes had already occurred.

Su Hong didn’t fully understand all of this, but she actively communicated with the doctors.

She mainly wanted to determine whether the condition could suddenly flare up and if it was related to eating seafood.

The consulting doctor had been arranged through a call from the boss, Dong Jun Tian.

Dong Jun Tian had vast connections in Bei’an, and upon hearing about the incident at the restaurant, he immediately contacted a familiar acquaintance to help arrange an appointment, with a specialist from the gastroenterology department.

Through detailed consultation and two basic checks, the specialist could actually diagnose the condition.

However, since the patient’s family was extremely anxious and demanded an accurate diagnosis for the patient’s condition,

an additional, more detailed imaging exam was requested.
