The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The front hall staff were very polite to Fu Yu.

Everyone knew he was the direct disciple of the boss, personally guided and taught in culinary skills.

Because of this relationship, everyone took great care of Fu Yu.

Of course.

Besides that, it was also because Fu Yu had a gentle personality, was easy to get along with, and was particularly handsome, making a very good impression on everyone.

Everyone has a love for beauty.

Being good-looking, having high looks, sometimes gives you an advantage in social interactions.

Fu Yu glanced over the order list, his gaze finally pausing on one of the dish names.

Lotus Meat?

Such a delicate name, but who knows how this dish is made.

With great interest, Fu Yu flipped through a classic old flavor recipe book.

Only to find out with surprise that this Lotus Meat was actually listed among the top ten difficult dishes to make.

This immediately intrigued Fu Yu, and he carefully studied the cooking method of this dish.

...

An Jing was listening attentively to Master Wang Yulong, while Liu Zhangpeng couldn’t help but recall the cooking video he watched earlier.

He always knew that Fu Yu was an extremely talented newcomer in the industry, gifted, quick to learn, hardworking, and resourceful.

But this time, he suddenly realized his own shortcomings!

The inevitable path for an excellent chef is endurance.

If you can endure, you stand out; if you can’t, you’re out.

It’s that simple.

And to become a qualified chef, cooking is just the surface level; what’s key is having the ability to understand.

You must understand the principles behind every dish.

Basic cooking techniques must be mastered.

After all, unique cooking techniques are key to creating the perfect dish.

As for having exquisite knife skills, that’s the minimum requirement.

”Knife skills” is just a broad term; Chinese cuisine emphasizes ”color, aroma, and taste,” and besides taste, presentation is very important.

For a chef who can’t even cut vegetables well, they might as well not be a chef at all.

Having knife skills isn’t enough; you also need a deep understanding of seasonings.

A good chef uses various seasonings just right, while a low-level chef uses them haphazardly.

Properly using various seasonings is the benchmark of a successful chef.

Only by possessing these points.

The path of the chef becomes wider and better.

Liu Zhangpeng is a lucky person; at least he endured the ”endurance” and successfully gained the opportunity to apprentice and learn cooking.

And throughout the long learning process in cooking, he repeatedly surpassed himself in culinary operations.

Actually, every breakthrough is a metamorphosis of oneself.

At this moment, Liu Zhangpeng, while in the meeting, couldn’t help but reflect on the cooking operations from the previous video!

What he marveled at was not only Fu Yu’s superb culinary skills.

But also his courage and decisiveness when directly challenging the most difficult culinary operations during the competition!

In competitions, most people choose to win steadily.

But Fu Yu had a spirit of adventure.

The two dishes he cooked, either one, were high-difficulty operations lauded by others.

The more he thought about it, the more excited Liu Zhangpeng became, and the more he mused, the more thrilled he got!

He originally had a very good impression of Fu Yu and intended to befriend him.

After this, he made up his mind, determined to become good buddies with Fu Yu.

Liu Zhangpeng had a premonition!

By making friends with Fu Yu, he would undoubtedly greatly benefit in the future.

The more he thought, the more passionate Liu Zhangpeng felt.

Meanwhile, the two assistants, Yan Qingsheng and Cheng Shui, stood by listening to Wang Yulong, also somewhat astonished.

Unlike Liu Zhangpeng.

Although they’ve been learning cooking for years, they’ve always been stuck in the restaurant’s back kitchen, focusing on chopping and preparing ingredients.

Only interacting with a few people nearby, they’ve never seen much of the outside world.

So, Fu Yu’s cooking operations in the previous chef competition directly stunned them.

Fu Yu’s level in Yan Qingsheng and Cheng Shui’s hearts rose infinitely, almost becoming their idol.

Although the two didn’t exchange words, at this moment, they both had the same thought in mutual understanding.

They must find opportunities to get closer to Fu Yu and communicate more.

This person might one day become the mentor who changes their lives.

After Wang Yulong’s sincere and patient words, the weekly meeting concluded.

The originally planned fifteen-minute meeting unexpectedly dragged on to half an hour.

Wang Yulong shook his head, noting that the time lost was made up earlier in the morning by working ahead.

Today’s dishes on the order list were mostly semi-finished, only needing some additional cooking before serving.

Except for the Lotus Meat, which the boss Liu Yunong specifically added, originally thinking the dish was time-consuming and laborious, compressing cooking time accordingly.

Unexpectedly, it gave him an opportunity to hold a weekly meeting and give guidance to his subordinates.

After the meeting, Wang Yulong looked at the few under him and said, ”You all should practice your basic skills more in private, don’t think about running before you can walk. The videos of the competition’s cooking operations are worth studying; watch them in detail when you have time, especially the knife skills and specific cooking methods. Alright, go ahead and get busy.”

Everyone responded and dispersed.

Fu Yu noticed the kitchen group no longer crowding around, quickly put the order list back at the front desk, greeted with a smile, and hurried into the kitchen.

Wang Yulong saw Fu Yu coming over and immediately greeted him with a smile, ”Xiaofu, you’re here!”

He genuinely liked and admired Fu Yu from the heart.

Whenever an old chef reaches his stage, there’s a partial appreciation for talent.

Unfortunately, Fu Yu had already apprenticed under Liu Yunong early on.

What a pity!

Fu Yu greeted Wang Yulong and casually headed to his own station.

Liu Zhangpeng saw Fu Yu, his eyes lighting up, and leaned over quietly saying, ”Xiaofu, during the meeting today, my master praised you!”

Fu Yu: ”...”

Indeed.

Although Wang Yulong didn’t mention his name explicitly, every word unmistakably pointed to him.

Especially with video evidence.

Liu Zhangpeng, intrigued, inquired, ”You can even make Wenshi Tofu! Wow, your knife work there was simply amazing!”

”You must have practiced for many years, right? Did you start learning this dish while at school?”

Liu Zhangpeng fired multiple questions, leaving Fu Yu unsure how to respond.

Just then, Liu Yunong also arrived.

As soon as Liu Yunong stepped into the kitchen, he directly addressed Fu Yu, ”Xiaofu, you’re here! Great, today I’ll teach you how to make a specialty dish!”
