The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The steamed goods were neatly arranged in the steamer, their surfaces a dark red with a slight sheen.

The aroma was sweet, rich with the fragrance of dates.

At first glance, they looked just like ordinary red dates.

But to Boss Pang and the others, they already seemed very lifelike.

However, Fu Yu brought out the steamed goods and began cutting the foil.

Then, he wrapped each piece individually with foil.

Pang Bowen couldn’t help but ask, ”Aren’t they already steamed?”

Using foil, does this mean they’re going to be baked?

While carefully wrapping the goods, Fu Yu said, ”Red dates have fine wrinkles, doing this embosses an impression.”

Listening to Fu Yu, Pang Bowen observed even more closely.

Being close and watching intently, he soon noticed that when Fu Yu wrapped the goods with foil, he was constantly pinching and pressing with his hands, using the crumpled foil to create the fine wrinkles on the dates’ skin.

Pang Bowen watched Fu Yu’s operation, amazed: ”So, these fine wrinkles can be made this way?”

Fu Yu just laughed.

Previously, in the teaching practice class, he was also amazed when he saw someone operate like this.

He turned to Pang Bowen and jokingly said, ”Actually, some secret skills are just that simple, once taught, you learn it, there’s no mystery to it.”

”In fact, for many of these figurative things, making the external texture is the most important!”

Pang Bowen immediately agreed, ”That’s the skill!”

Fu Yu smiled and opened the foil: ”That’s right, now is the moment to witness the miracle!”

As the foil was unfolded, the full view of the steamed goods gradually appeared.

The dark red color had a slight sheen and irregular wrinkles, and the base was sunken.

At this moment, Fu Yu attached the made date handle onto it.

The steamed goods became even more lifelike.

Looking at the lifelike steamed goodies, Pang Bowen had a stomach full of admiration he wanted to express.

But lacking the words, he could only exclaim, ”Damn! Incredible!”

Xue Yuli and Zou Anna couldn’t help but exclaim:

”Oh my God! This looks too real!”

”Amazing! If you didn’t say, who could tell it’s fake!”

Fu Yu struggled hard to keep the corners of his mouth from continually turning up due to the compliments.

Humbly and modestly, he said, ”Actually, these goods are amazing because of the foil shaping.”

Pang Bowen nodded repeatedly: ”This is truly amazing! Chef Fu, when you reveal the foil like this, it’s like showing the secret of cooking these goods.”

Fu Yu smiled slightly: ”Boss Pang, you’re already planning to promote me to co-create new products, so it’s only right that I demonstrate this baking technique.”

As he spoke, Fu Yu picked up a finished steamed date, gently tore it open, revealing the soft and delicate date paste filling inside.

”Boss Pang, you should also try it and see how it tastes.”

Pang Bowen didn’t hesitate, reaching out to take a steamed date.

He didn’t eat it immediately but brought it close for a detailed examination, unable to help but marvel: ”Even more real than the real thing, comparing... I think this looks truer than real dates, look at this date skin, it’s shiny, the real dates are also shiny, this too... comparing them, it’s like the real dates seem more fake?”

Xue Yuli tactfully handed over a real date.

Pang Bowen compared them and continuously exclaimed in admiration: ”Oh my, this comparison, they’re exactly the same! You can’t tell that it’s actually hand kneaded, the level of finish... it’s incredible!”

”So amazing, the ingenuity in this is remarkable!”

Pang Bowen carefully tore open the steamed good, revealing the full date paste filling inside.

As he put it in his mouth, it was soft and sweet, the dough was tender, and the filling had a noticeable grainy texture of dates, with clear layers and a very rich taste.

As Pang Bowen ate, he muttered to himself.

At Qianlima, Fu Yu was an emerging culinary star in the Red Case District, having been promoted within less than a year, and even now was independently taking orders and in charge of the baking section.

In his own store, Fu Yu was adept at various dessert baking, every move was like that of an old hand with over ten years of experience, and even online trends or those not yet officially released in the market, like these steamed goods, he could figure out and make on his own from simple descriptions.

His cooking skills, baking techniques, learning ability, mental acuity, and even modeling and detail control were all top-notch...

All these words can be summed up in one sentence: Young man, what else can’t you do?

But Pang Bowen’s muttering lasted only for the moment a steamed date passed into his stomach.

As long as Fu Yu was willing to transfer the baking method for steamed dates and collaborate on innovative projects, he was as good as a father!

His eagerness to cling to Fu Yu’s brilliance for innovation was indeed a sickness of the mind.

Pang Bowen had never seen actual steamed dates, but just by looking at the products Fu Yu made, they were no less impressive than any seen online.

This greatly boosted his confidence in launching new products.

Pang Bowen has always been a person of bold ideas and actions, decisive and firm in his stance.

He immediately signed a commission contract with Fu Yu for launching new products.

Just like the offers for the chef in their dessert shop, once the steamed date is launched, there will be a 2% profit-sharing based on sales.

Essentially, for each hundred yuan of sales of the steamed date, a two-yuan commission can be drawn.

It may not seem much, but if a new type of dessert really sells well, it might sell hundreds of units a day.

Especially since Pang Bowen’s dessert shop also supplies several large restaurants with desserts.

If in the future this item is added to the supply desserts, the commission earnings Fu Yu could obtain would be quite considerable.

Fu Yu was very pleased with this.

He even made a specific agreement with Pang Bowen to be responsible for teaching the two chefs at the dessert shop the specific baking method.

But because he received a commission, Pang Bowen didn’t think about paying Fu Yu extra for the teaching hours.

Fu Yu didn’t think of it either.

The dessert shop was currently in peak season, business was busy, and the pastry chefs had little free time.

So, both parties arranged for the lessons to take place in the evening.

Fu Yu’s timing on his end couldn’t be determined yet, as he needed to go back and discuss the specific days for leave with Liu Yunong.

It’s best not to miss any special dish launches at Shangshi Private Kitchen to avoid missing the opportunity to learn cooking.

The dessert shop closes at 10:30 PM each night.

After briefly cleaning up with the others, Fu Yu was warmly invited by Pang Bowen to his car when leaving.

”Chef Fu, are you heading back to Qianlima? Perfect, I’ll give you a ride on my way.”

Fu Yu was taken aback: ”Boss Pang, isn’t your home in a different direction from our shop?”

Pang Bowen chuckled and said: ”Oh, my house has a newly installed balcony insulation, I dislike the formaldehyde, so I’m currently staying at a new home near the Department Store. The house was bought for my daughter, a 180-square-meter duplex.”

Fu Yu: ”...”

I’m envious!
