The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yunong didn’t deliberately introduce Fu Yu and Li Linlin.

Mainly because she had just asked Li Linfeng about Fu Yu before, and although it wasn’t much, asking about someone behind their back is not really good.

She didn’t know that Li Linfeng had already contacted Fu Yu first thing.

The car arrived at Qianlima’s back door, and after Fu Yu got out and said goodbye to Liu Yunong, he didn’t rush back to the dormitory, but instead found a quiet place to call Li Linfeng.

The call connected quickly; Li Linfeng was a night owl, back in chef school he was addicted to online games, staying up half the night grinding.

”Yo! Just finished being busy, huh?”

Since meeting again, contact between Fu Yu and Li Linfeng has become much more frequent.

Li Linfeng knew that Fu Yu goes to Shangshi Private Kitchen every night after work to learn cooking, so seeing the time, he knew Fu Yu had just finished work.

Fu Yu responded and asked, ”Hey, guess whom I met tonight?”

Li Linfeng was instantly intrigued: ”Who?”

”Your brother!” Fu Yu said with a smile, ”When I finished work, I happened to see your brother coming to the restaurant, seemed like he was planning to eat, but he came too late, the place was already closed.”

Li Linfeng was visibly surprised: ”Really? No wonder my brother hasn’t eaten at home these past few days, so he went to Sister Liu’s place.”

”However, you and your brother look quite alike, when I saw Brother Li, I felt he looked familiar. Later, I heard from my master that he was your brother.” Fu Yu said with some emotion.

He had always known Li Linfeng had an elder brother, but never had the chance to meet him.

Li Linfeng was keen on gossip: ”Hey, did my brother meet Sister Liu?”

Fu Yu answered truthfully: ”He did! They even spoke, but the atmosphere seemed a bit off, I think your brother seems to be...”

Li Linfeng misunderstood, laughingly teased: ”My brother always had a crush on Sister Liu, it’s been years!”

Fu Yu was shocked: ”Is that true?”

”Sister Liu was a school beauty during her college days, smart and pretty, a lot of people liked her.” Li Linfeng chuckled, ”My brother wants to pursue Sister Liu, you should help out if you get the chance.”

Fu Yu: ”...”

Something seemed off somehow.

”Is there a problem?”

Fu Yu: ”...No.”

Li Linfeng generously said: ”If my brother and Sister Liu work out, I’ll treat you to dinner!”

As they were talking, Li Linfeng suddenly paused and quickly said, ”Alright, not chatting anymore, my brother’s back, I gotta interrogate him!”

Li Linfeng gave a wicked laugh and hung up the phone.

...

Late at night, Li Linlin had been wandering outside since getting off work, only now returning home.

It was cold outside in winter, but the house was heated, Li Linfeng even had the air conditioner on while talking on the phone on the sofa, presumably having a phone chat with his girlfriend.

The men in the Li Family shared a common trait: easily swayed by pretty women.

The women they liked were all beautiful with good figures, each started as crushes and worked hard to overcome obstacles, eventually winning over the beauties.

Li Linfeng had pined after his girlfriend for nearly three years before finally winning her over, now things are progressing naturally towards marriage.

Only Li Linlin was left, holding a secret admiration for almost ten years with no progress, still a single man of age.

Lately, Li Linfeng noticed some change in his older brother.

Specifically, he was coming home very late every night and frequently using napkins with the Shangshi Private Kitchen logo on them.

Considering that his brother occasionally chuckled to himself at home, Li Linfeng reasonably deduced that his brother must have started pursuing his goddess and making moves.

Today marked the completion of the project Li Linlin managed.

Li Linlin got up early, donned a sharp suit, and specifically mentioned not returning for dinner.

Even though the celebration was set for noon.

After afternoon socializing, there shouldn’t be much happening.

However, late at night, Li Linlin entered changing shoes and headed straight to the living room.

Sitting on the sofa, Li Linfeng got up to greet him with a smile, but Li Linlin just slightly nodded in response.

Li Linfeng wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but his brother’s expression today was exceptionally cold.

There seemed to be a vague aura of black mist swirling around him.

As soon as Li Linlin returned, he sat motionless on the sofa, his eyes distant.

Li Linfeng had initially been eager to tease, but seeing the situation, he sensed acutely that his brother’s mood was off.

So he attentively moved closer.

”Bro, what’s going on?”

Li Linlin glanced at him but said nothing.

Li Linfeng’s eyelids drooped: ”What’s wrong, didn’t you manage to meet with Sister Liu?”

”No...” Li Linlin replied, word by word, speaking very slowly: ”Didn’t even talk about it.”

Li Linfeng jumped up three feet: ”Why? Bro, are you chickening out? That’s not like you!”

”She has a boyfriend.”

Being a morally upright person, Li Linlin could never be the type to wreck a relationship.

Li Linfeng immediately opened a shopping app, searching for keywords: Thai sorcery, breakup spell.

Unfortunately, he was disappointed to find out that all of it had been taken offline due to superstition concerns.

Li Linfeng had no choice but to comfort him, ”Don’t worry, bro, you just had a health check, and your vital stats are perfect, Sister Liu’s boyfriend is sure to kick the bucket before you.”

Li Linlin: ”...”

Just then, Li Linlin’s phone screen suddenly lit up, a new message had arrived.

Li Linlin’s work was complicated, and he always paid close attention to his phone messages.

Especially now, to distract himself, Li Linfeng quickly grabbed the phone from the coffee table and turned on the screen display.

”Little Fairy? Who’s this?” Li Linfeng muttered.

Before he could finish speaking, his elder brother grabbed him back, forcing him into the sofa again.

[Little Fairy: I have something tomorrow, won’t be at the shop. If you want to come to eat, how about the day after tomorrow?]

[Little Fairy: To avoid unnecessary misunderstandings, I’ve thought about it and decided to clarify.]

[Little Fairy: The person earlier named Fu Yu is my apprentice. I’m currently single.]

...

Last night, Fu Yu specially packed a portion of fermented bean curd steamed chicken from Shangshi Private Kitchen.

This morning, he just happened to treat the people in the kitchen to a meal.

But a single chicken wasn’t much, and the dish’s origins were hard to explain.

So Fu Yu secretly shared it among his close group.

Since Liu Junrong and Sun Weixing arrived at Qianlima’s kitchen, work has gone smoothly.

Head chef Zhao Meng, although temperamental, is fair and as long as the staff does their work, he doesn’t meddle much in other matters.
