The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Yesterday, after watching Fu Yu learn how to make fermented bean curd steamed chicken in the kitchen, Wang Yulong felt very uneasy.

Learning culinary arts in the kitchen!

Why is there such a huge gap between people?

Furthermore, the kitchen staff of Shangshi Private Kitchen truly have advantageous conditions and opportunities.

Every day they learn and cook authentic Liu Family Cuisine.

Especially now with the boss personally guiding them, as long as they are diligent, what could they not learn?

Being assigned to run a branch kitchen means their skills have been recognized by the boss!

However, recently, with one cooking lesson after another, to be honest, Wang Yulong’s worldview was completely refreshed.

He subtly realized what it means to cultivate oneself as a human being.

Learning culinary arts is unlike other industries; it depends on diligence and effort.

Seeing Fu Yu improve so rapidly, Wang Yulong felt increasingly uneasy.

No comparison, no harm.

Apprentices and juniors, who initially seemed diligent, slowly revealed small flaws here and there in his eyes.

After some deep thought, Wang Yulong decided to hold a meeting with his team to give them a friendly reminder!

Look at others, how they as kitchen newcomers strive to learn cooking.

For today’s weekly meeting, Wang Yulong even specifically found Fu Yu’s competition video from when he participated in a chef contest online.

Since it was an event of the Sanjiang Tourism Festival, the entire competition video was posted online as a promotional documentary.

When Wang Yulong first watched the two dishes Fu Yu made during the competition, he was utterly amazed.

Especially that Wenshi Tofu, the knife skills were absolutely stunning.

In terms of knife practice, wanting to achieve mastery in knife skills means there are no shortcuts other than practice and hard work.

Fu Yu’s ability to reach this level shows that he has put in a great deal of effort privately.

Thinking of this, Wang Yulong couldn’t help but flood with fondness for Fu Yu.

He increasingly understood why the boss, who never accepted apprentices, made an exception for Fu Yu.

The Liu Family Cuisine, although it doesn’t follow the old rule of not passing on skills to women, has always been taught only to the apprentices of the head chefs in the family’s own restaurant, further trained, and finally assigned as experts to each branch.

In essence, this is a disguised way of not passing it to outsiders.

But when it comes to Fu Yu, Liu Yunong repeatedly made exceptions.

She personally taught Fu Yu the cooking methods of Liu Family Cuisine yet did not require Fu Yu to work at Shangshi Private Kitchen.

This shows Liu Yunong’s high regard for Fu Yu.

In private, Liu Yunong has repeatedly praised Fu Yu as a culinary genius.

This is Liu Yunong’s evaluation of Fu Yu.

For a renowned chef to make such comments, it is evident how excellent Fu Yu’s cooking skills must be.

The more Wang Yulong thought about it, the more envious and jealous he became.

It’s no wonder that Liu Yunong, at such a young age, was able to establish such a career and stand firm in the industry on her own.

It’s because she has the skill and the vision.

Even her exceptional apprentice turned out to be so impressive!

Envious, Wang Yulong decided to use this competition cooking video to give his team a wake-up call.

Let them understand what it means that there is always someone better, and someone always more skilled.

Fu Yu had never been exposed to Liu Family Cuisine, and now, after less than a month, he is able to start cooking at the stove.

And, most importantly, whatever he learns, he can present beautifully!

Knife skills, control of heat, timing, precise handling of ingredients, all done effortlessly and exceptionally well.

Such an all-around development model is truly commendable!

The more Wang Yulong thought about it, the more he coveted it!

Unfortunately, a quality apprentice like Fu Yu is truly hard to come by.

With his own conditions and abilities, competing with the boss for an apprentice is impossible.

After much thought, all he could do was train his current team better, while looking out for the chance to nurture a couple of promising new apprentices.

Before this meeting, Wang Yulong had already sent the cooking video to his team in advance.

He also specifically pointed out some key operational steps.

After Liu Zhangpeng and others carefully watched Fu Yu’s cooking video and listened to Wang Yulong’s summary, they collectively fell silent.

It wasn’t that they didn’t want to speak, but for a moment, they didn’t know what to say.

They all work in the kitchen and know what operations are most difficult and what steps are hardest to master when cooking.

Honestly asking themselves, these two dishes, no matter which one, if they had to make it, they definitely couldn’t.

It’s not that they can’t do it now; it’s that even after several years, they might not reach this level to create such perfect dishes.

Realizing this, everyone remained silent, filled with a myriad of feelings.

Wang Yulong looked at them and said, ”The purpose of today’s meeting is to hope you understand that learning culinary arts is not a matter of a moment, but an industry that requires long-term investment and dedication to see returns.”

”The more effort you put in, the sooner you will succeed.”

”Of course, I’m not encouraging you to privately practice cooking operations during work hours, which the shop will not allow. I merely want to tell you that you must find a way to improve your abilities, to handle all sorts of cooking operations adeptly, and provide our customers with a better dining experience!”

Wang Yulong’s words, sounding a bit like ”look at others,” carried the undertone of a ”foreign child,” but he never mentioned Fu Yu outright.

After all, Fu Yu has been in the industry for too short of a time.

Just a newcomer from culinary school with less than two years of work experience.

And the juniors present all started learning the culinary arts from a young age, not to mention an experienced chef like Liu Zhangpeng with over ten years of experience.

Sometimes, such matters can easily be hurtful.

Those with mature mindsets may not see this as anything significant.

However, no one can predict how much emotional impact others can endure.

Nevertheless, the weekly meeting was quite successful.

Almost everyone, after watching Fu Yu’s competition cooking video, quickly snapped out of their shock.

In the subsequent cooking tasks, everyone seemed to be invigorated.

The atmosphere of culinary learning in the kitchen suddenly thickened a lot.

Sometimes, competition and exemplary influences can truly play a stimulating role.

Sitting by the door, Fu Yu listened for a while, belatedly realizing that Wang Yulong was using him to motivate others to work hard and earnestly learn cooking.

Fu Yu didn’t have much thought about it.

However, thinking that after the meeting, when everyone saw him, they might feel a bit embarrassed, he decided to return the chair and stay in the front hall to study the new menu for the day.
