The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Yao Shi listened to this and smiled knowingly.

Zhao Meng, on the other hand, had a rare blush on his old face.

Reflecting inwardly, he realized that the reason today’s matter was resolved smoothly was mainly thanks to Fu Yu’s culinary skills.

If it weren’t for his ability to cook a different version of mock crab, who knows how things might have turned out.

And his timely and decisive agreement to let Fu Yu take charge was because, besides Fu Yu, no one else in the kitchen could make this dish.

Actually, the situation was quite difficult at the time.

But since Fu Yu said so... Zhao Meng still felt quite pleased, and he quietly nodded.

That one ”hmm” seemed so bland, yet it made Yao Shi full of envy.

What kind of good fortune does Zhao Meng have?

Casually taking on an apprentice and ending up with such a promising talent.

If back then he had taken an apprentice, could he possibly have someone like Fu Yu by his side, obedient, sensible, perceptive, and extremely capable?

Even Yao Shi, who never accepted apprentices, found himself wavering in his once very firm resolve for who knows how many times.

Even Liu Yunong could step in halfway and become Fu Yu’s second mentor.

Perhaps he could too?

Once the thought arose, it was hard to suppress.

Yao Shi made a silent decision to pay more attention to personnel management, quality cultivation, and new recruitments at the music restaurant once this busy period before the year-end was over.

If he wanted to take on an apprentice, he also needed to continue strengthening his own culinary skills, not come to a complete standstill.

Look at Liu Yunong, who now runs Shangshi Private Kitchen, managing to expand the business by opening multiple branches, each thriving.

This is a demonstration of true capability.

Thinking about this, Yao Shi felt that he had indeed been somewhat lax over these years.

...

Because of this delay, Fu Yu missed the normal handover time in the evening.

He still had to rush to Shangshi Private Kitchen, so he quickly finished the urgent work at hand and handed the rest over to Zhao Meng. Only then did he hurriedly change clothes and head to the back door.

Fu Yu was a little late today. When he exited the back door of the restaurant and arrived on the side street, he was nearly an hour later than usual.

Glancing at the time on his phone, Fu Yu hurried to the roadside, preparing to hail a taxi with a wave of his hand.

”Fu Yu!”

Upon hearing his name, Fu Yu turned around and saw Liu Yuqing walking towards him with a cheerful smile.

After work hours, Liu Yuqing had changed into her casual clothes.

A short white down jacket paired with tight jeans and short snow boots on her feet accentuated her long, straight, and slender legs.

From the moment he saw Liu Yuqing’s bright smile, Fu Yu couldn’t take his eyes off her.

Wearing just a simple white down jacket, she appeared refreshing and youthful like a university student.

With smiling eyes, delicate eyebrows, a delicate nose, beautiful and rosy lips, especially those bright and sparkling eyes, under long, dense eyelashes, they looked incredibly lively and clear, like a pool of water in autumn.

She really is my type.

Fu Yu nodded at Liu Yuqing, suppressing his slightly eager heart, and tried to maintain a calm face, smiling, he said, ”Just finished work?”

Liu Yuqing chuckled, ”Yeah, I had the early shift today, but I just helped Sister Jiang sort out some order information, got delayed a bit.”

Fu Yu was pondering how to explain where he was headed, but Liu Yuqing, in her considerate manner, didn’t even show any intention of prying.

”I’m in a bit of a rush, got to go first, see you tomorrow!”

Fu Yu waved his hand: ”Okay, see you tomorrow!”

Liu Yuqing waved back at him with a smile and walked away, her long legs striding ahead.

Fu Yu squeezed the phone in his pocket, thoughtfully watching Liu Yuqing’s back, couldn’t help sighing: ”Oh... really, even her back view fits my liking so well!”

...

After getting into the taxi, Fu Yu conveyed the address to the driver, then leaned back in his seat, eagerly opening up today’s rewards.

[Universal Spatula: Perfectly separates all ingredients from the pot bottom, without weight]

The spatula is generally used during cooking to toss ingredients when stir-frying or to stir rice, serve rice, or lift the crispy rice crust from the pot.

They are commonly made of wrought iron, stainless steel, or aluminum.

They come in various sizes, larger ones with long handles are used for cooking rice.

Smaller ones are used for stir-frying.

In any case, a spatula’s primary purpose is to stir and lift.

It can separate food from the pot bottom, and also help in mixing ingredients and seasonings evenly.

But without exception, spatulas have weight.

The system-released reward, the universal spatula, is weightless.

Considering that previous items like the non-sticking wok or the oil-free skimmer, as the names suggest, the main advantage of this universal spatula is its lack of weight.

As for being able to perfectly separate all food from the pot bottom...

For Fu Yu, this feature seems a bit redundant.

After all, with his non-stick frying pan, nothing will stick to the bottom...

Wait...

The description mentions ingredients and pot bottoms without specifying any particular kind, meaning it applies not only to frying pans but to other cookware as well.

For example, when boiling syrup, it can separate the syrup from the pot bottom!

For instance, when lifting crispy rice, one can remove it in whole pieces!

Another example, when frying fish, one can completely lift the fish skin from the bottom of the pan without incident!

Actions that previously required careful timing, delicate pressure, and cautious maneuvering can now become easy and simple.

Not bad!

They say a great pan deserves a great spatula!

It’s indeed a pretty nice reward.

And most importantly, it’s highly practical.

Speaking of practicality, Fu Yu remembered he also received a reward for curing the acne issue of a female student, Zhang Xueyao.

He quickly navigated to the rewards interface:

[Endocrinology Food Therapy Recipe: Endocrinology is the phenomenon where substances produced by body tissues are secreted directly into the blood or body fluids without ducts.]

[The endocrine system mainly comprises the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, pituitary, and other endocrine glands/organs. Adjusting the endocrine system requires good habits and reasonable nutrition.]

[Clear Spot Soup: Ingredients: 10g Luffa...]

Fu Yu’s eyes lit up as he read.

This is practically a comprehensive diet therapy and skincare recipe book.

Several therapeutic dishes mentioned in it were completely new to him.

This is fantastic!

With this Endocrinology Food Therapy Recipe, the range of diet therapies he can now take on has greatly expanded.

Additionally, it includes cooking skills for traditional specialty dishes.

Yet another culinary skill.

And it’s not just a standalone skill, but a whole category.

The realm of traditional specialty dishes is vast!

I haven’t even finished the classic old flavor recipes yet, and now I’m about to delve into traditional specialty dishes.

Thinking about this, Fu Yu casually opened the reward.

[Ding! Traditional Specialty Dish Cooking Skills, Advanced: Do you wish to enter the teaching practice classroom?]

[Options: Yes or No]

Fu Yu was thrilled, no need for a key, he could enter directly?

Awesome!

Now with the classic old flavor recipes, it’s like an encyclopedia!

On top of that, I now have advanced traditional specialty dish cooking skills!

With all this, when it comes to nostalgic old flavors, is there anything that can stop me?

Fu Yu grew happier as he thought about it.
