The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Wang Kangxu was full of anticipation to taste the Wenshi Tofu dish.

In his memory, the evaluations of this dish were nothing short of praising its fine knife work, soft and delicate texture, and the way it melts in your mouth.

However, when he took a spoonful of Wenshi Tofu, the expected salty and savory flavor was nowhere to be found; instead, it struck him with a hard-to-describe, strong sourness that made his taste buds shiver.

Was the tofu spoiled?

It’s way too sour, isn’t it?

At the same time, a bowl of brightly colored, very appetizing-looking Wenshi Tofu was delivered to the front desk.

The dish server personally brought it over and placed it in front of Liu Yuqing, saying with a smile, ”Xiaoqing, this is specially ordered by Chef Fu for you, thanking you for introducing an old customer’s order to him.”

Liu Yuqing was a bit surprised, leaned over to glance at the bowl, and the tofu, crystal clear and thin as hair, looked fresh and tender and flavorful.

Jiang Mo and the cashier both glanced over.

Jiang Mo asked, ”Oh, what dish is that? I’ve never heard of it!”

The cashier curiously asked, ”Is this made from eggs?”

Liu Yuqing shook her head and picked up a spoon. ”This is Wenshi Tofu.”

She savored the tender and smooth Wenshi Tofu, her expression unchanged, but internally rolled her eyes silently, muttering to herself, ”Is it necessary... such a small heart...”

After mumbling a couple of sentences, she couldn’t help but smile.

Liu Yuqing saw through it.

Fu Yu deliberately showed off his skills and specially brought a bowl over for her to try.

He just wanted to annoy her.

This Wenshi Tofu had several big spoons of vinegar added into it.

That day, after finishing his meal, Wang Kangxu came over to settle the bill and continued to pester Liu Yuqing while talking.

Liu Yuqing glanced at the empty white porcelain bowl nearby and asked Wang Kangxu to move to the corner leading from the front hall to the back kitchen.

The two of them stood next to the fortune tree.

Liu Yuqing said, ”Wang Kangxu, I’m seriously telling you, in the future, don’t deliberately come to find me anymore.”

Wang Kangxu was taken aback and asked in surprise, ”What’s wrong?”

Liu Yuqing shook her head. ”Nothing.”

Wang Kangxu got anxious upon hearing this, ”Xiaoqing, did you misunderstand something about me?”

Liu Yuqing was stunned, what is there to misunderstand about you?

”Nothing happened, you’re overthinking.” Liu Yuqing pondered how to word things more tactfully.

But Wang Kangxu simply stared at Liu Yuqing, confidently saying, ”Then why are you suddenly so cold to me, I can feel that you seem to particularly reject me?”

Liu Yuqing was almost amused!

If you can feel it, why don’t you quickly find somewhere else to cool off?

Is it fun pestering her every day?

Liu Yuqing resisted the urge to roll her eyes, patiently saying, ”Wang Kangxu, you really are overthinking, I never misunderstood anything about you.”

Wang Kangxu, however, looked quite serious. ”Then why are you particularly cold to me today? It wasn’t like this before, last time I came, you even personally saw me to the door, I...”

The more Wang Kangxu spoke, the more enthusiastic he became.

Liu Yuqing really didn’t want to be entangled with him anymore.

She simply realized that being roundabout doesn’t work with someone like Wang Kangxu.

This person is simply too good at playing dumb.

To deal with such people, you have to be direct, bring things up face-to-face, otherwise, they’ll keep dragging on endlessly.

Liu Yuqing met Wang Kangxu back in school.

She initially had quite a good impression of Wang Kangxu.

But later realized this person was not very reliable; a typical mama’s boy who isn’t independent and also relies on his parents.

Clearly living off his parents’ money, yet he acts as if he’s very awesome and excellent, really don’t know where he gets the nerve.

Compared to affluent second-generation like Wang Kangxu who idles around, Liu Yuqing feels she appreciates more those who start from scratch.

Seeing him so excited, she stated straightforwardly, ”Alright, Wang Kangxu, my main focus right now is at work, I’m not ready to consider romantic matters... We should just be old classmates and friends, and you shouldn’t specifically come to see me anymore.”

Wang Kangxu got anxious upon hearing this, ”No, Xiaoqing, why are you suddenly saying this! I, I didn’t mean anything, just missed you, wanted to come see you, I, I just...”

As the two were speaking face-to-face, neither noticed someone approaching from not far away.

Fu Yu originally planned to find Liu Yuqing in the front hall when he was not busy.

He couldn’t hold back his curiosity, wanting to see if Liu Yuqing was dining with that old classmate.

He had just come out of the kitchen when he saw Liu Yuqing and Wang Kangxu standing in a secluded spot chatting.

Fu Yu’s heart immediately sank.

He had a shadow about this corner.

Back in the day, he found Gu Yunwu flirting with a pretty waitress in that very spot.

And now Liu Yuqing was here with Wang Kangxu!

Should he step in to stop their sneaky behavior?

Fu Yu hesitated for a moment.

Just about to step forward, he suddenly heard Liu Yuqing’s voice.

”Wang Kangxu, I’m seriously telling you, I’m usually very busy with work, don’t come to trouble me anymore.”

Seeing Liu Yuqing say this, Wang Kangxu couldn’t help but argue, ”Xiaoqing, I...”

Liu Yuqing quickly interrupted him, ”Alright, I’m really quite busy, if you’re done eating, you should hurry up and leave.”

She is straightforward, can’t play games, since she has no such intentions, she doesn’t plan to lead people on, giving others false hope.

”And also, there’s something I think I should tell you, even if I’m looking for a boyfriend in the future, I’ll definitely look for someone who’s good at cooking, so stop thinking about it!”

After all, there are still several shops at her home that need to be inherited, can’t let her sister carry all the burden alone.

Upon hearing this, Wang Kangxu felt his heart drop to the bottom.

Facing Liu Yuqing, he truly felt both admiration and uncertainty, unable to grasp this person.

He had no idea where to start, didn’t know how to please Liu Yuqing, what made her comfortable!

He was afraid if Liu Yuqing really cut ties with him, he’d have no chance at all in the future.

In his moment of anxiousness, without thinking, he acted impulsively.

He was completely driven by emotion, rashly stepping forward, grabbing Liu Yuqing’s arm, and pulling her forcefully into his embrace.

Fu Yu had already walked up close, feeling inexplicably delighted after hearing Liu Yuqing’s words, particularly comfortable.

While carefully savoring Liu Yuqing’s last words about finding someone good at cooking, he prepared to turn back to the kitchen.

After being turned down, there was no more reason for him to stay.

However, at this moment, he suddenly saw the scene before him, and Fu Yu’s expression changed immediately!
