The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The male customer, looking furious, said: ”I’m allergic to seafood, I can’t eat it!”

Fu Yu suddenly realized, no wonder there were four dishes ordered, but only one was braised prawns.

But now wasn’t the time to argue about this.

Fu Yu decisively took out his phone and directly dialed 120.

”Let’s get the elderly to the hospital for a check-up first, it looks quite serious to me.”

The elderly woman was lying on the table, cold sweat all over her head and face, and she did look in very bad shape.

The male customer didn’t bother to argue anymore, turned around, and wanted to support the elderly woman.

”Mom, Mom, how are you? We’ve already called an ambulance, we’ll be heading to the hospital soon!”

The elderly woman felt extremely nauseous, she just waved her hand, unable to say a word.

The male customer was immediately flustered, trembling as he asked: ”Mom, why don’t we find a place to lie down and rest for a bit?”

Gao Wenjing, hearing this, quickly chimed in: ”We have a lounge, it’s on the first floor...”

At this moment, Fu Yu suddenly said: ”It’s better not to move her easily for now.”

The male customer abruptly turned his head towards Fu Yu: ”What do you mean?”

Gao Wenjing subconsciously looked at Fu Yu standing next to him.

It’s strange to say, even though Fu Yu was just in his early twenties, with only a year’s work experience.

But just standing there, Gao Wenjing immediately felt more confident on this side.

Maybe it was because a few times before, with Fu Yu’s help, problems were resolved smoothly, so it nurtured a natural trust in him.

Fu Yu remained unfazed: ”In such situations, it’s best not to move the patient without authorization, the central hospital is very close, the ambulance should be arriving soon.”

The male customer, though concerned, quickly realized this too.

He bent down and asked: ”Mom, do you want to lie down for a while?”

The elderly woman didn’t speak, but waved her hand, indicating that she was fine staying as she was.

The male customer, forty years old, named Fan Shuzhi, wasn’t highly educated, having gone straight to a dairy processing plant after vocational school.

He worked for several years, gradually climbing to a group leader position, saved some money, and partnered with a friend to open a direct sales point for dairy products.

The business was running okay, but he was quite busy, being at his age, he wasn’t married yet and still lived with his mother.

Fan Shuzhi’s father passed away early, and it’s all thanks to his mother who raised him single-handedly, so he was very dependent on her, and they’ve relied on each other for years.

Fan Shuzhi was very filial, knowing his mother liked seafood, so every now and then he’d take the elderly woman out to a restaurant for a meal.

But lately, the elderly woman’s appetite hadn’t been good, she originally didn’t want to go out to eat, but couldn’t resist her son’s filial piety, so she came reluctantly and only ordered an affordable plate of braised prawns.

Unexpectedly, it was this meal that made the elderly woman feel uncomfortable.

Fan Shuzhi was utterly flustered.

Fortunately, the ambulance arrived very promptly.

The medical personnel arrived at the front hall directly with medical equipment.

The area was really chaotic, diners sitting nearby were all moved to available private rooms, while some with a strong curiosity insisted on staying in the hall, craning their necks to watch.

Gao Wenjing immediately called over two strong waitstaff to help guide the onlookers and provide a spacious rescue area for the medical personnel.

Fu Yu tried to avoid being near the dining table, leaving space around the elderly woman.

The medical personnel were very professional, and a doctor arrived with the ambulance for the rescue.

After a formal inquiry and examination, the doctor quickly concluded: ”Preliminary diagnosis is bile reflux gastritis.”

The doctor, after the examination, instructed the accompanying medical colleague: ”Let’s lift her onto the vehicle, and directly transfer her to the gastroenterology department.”

Fan Shuzhi immediately panicked when he heard this, following alongside the doctor, asking: ”Doctor, is my mom’s condition serious?”

The doctor casually reassured: ”Don’t worry, it’s not serious, it’s just that bile-containing duodenal contents reflux into the stomach, causing inflammation of the gastric mucosa, leading to mucosal erosion and bleeding, generally occurring in cases of delayed gastric emptying.”

Fan Shuzhi, still uneasy, said: ”By the way, doctor, my mom was fine just before, it was only after eating the prawns here that she suddenly felt nauseous and uncomfortable, could it be that the prawns here aren’t fresh?”

The doctor glanced at the nearby restaurant staff maintaining order, hesitated slightly, but decided to answer factually: ”That possibility can’t be ruled out, but symptoms like bile reflux gastritis do not form in one day, it’s not a sudden acute attack, but those in a long-term state of stress, depression, not eating regularly, drinking strong tea, smoking, consuming alcohol, or even eating a lot of chocolate may develop this disease, which are hard to prevent factors.”

The doctor looked at Fan Shuzhi and said solemnly: ”Don’t be anxious, being anxious won’t solve the problem, this is just a preliminary diagnosis, to make an accurate diagnosis, a detailed examination at the hospital is necessary.”

Fan Shuzhi was flustered and panicked: ”Is it serious? My mom, she won’t be in any trouble right?”

The doctor consoled: ”It’s not that serious, if it’s indeed bile reflux gastritis, then with effective treatment, it can be nursed and adjusted.”

Fan Shuzhi genuinely breathed a sigh of relief, his originally chaotic emotions gradually calming down.

As long as the elderly woman was fine, everything else could be dealt with.

However, as the doctor said just now, the possibility that the prawns weren’t fresh leading to the episode couldn’t be ruled out.

Therefore, Fan Shuzhi’s face turned gloomy, his eyes glaring at Gao Wenjing, who claimed to be the restaurant’s management: ”I’m telling you, if after the hospital examination, it’s confirmed that the issue was due to the unfresh prawns... I...”

Fan Shuzhi wasn’t a bad person, nor a malicious one, he’d argue with others when angry, stand his ground, but when it came to saying harsh words or doing wicked deeds, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Right now, he just wanted to ensure his mother could be safe and sound, everything else didn’t matter.

Gao Wenjing nodded: ”Rest assured, if it’s our restaurant’s responsibility with the ingredients, we will certainly take responsibility.”

At this moment, medical staff came forward, placed the elderly woman on a stretcher, and carried her outside.

Gao Wenjing himself couldn’t leave, so he sent Sun Wei, the procurement officer, to accompany them to the hospital.

Whether or not the episode was due to seafood from the restaurant, the restaurant had to send someone along.

On one hand, to avoid responsibility, it was necessary to determine the elderly woman’s condition after examination and whether it was related to the restaurant’s ingredients.

Without their own person following, there was no guarantee the customer wouldn’t falsely accuse them intentionally.

On the other hand, it was out of humanitarian reason, after all, the episode happened while dining in their restaurant, so both morally and logically, they couldn’t just sit back and ignore it.

At least, it’s their customer, so if they can help, they should lend a hand, it’s an effort of goodwill.
