The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

At the same time, the news that the customer in Suite 104 was extremely satisfied with the re-cooked mock crab quickly spread to both the front hall and the kitchen.

Jiang Mo had just finished taking a takeout order over the phone when she heard the waiter gossiping quietly about the matter as they were settling the bill.

”I heard it with my own ears, the customer in Suite 104 told the boss that today’s meal was particularly satisfying, just like the hometown flavors he’s been longing for.”

Jiang Mo immediately breathed a sigh of relief,

She knew it, Fu Yu would definitely have no problem!

Feeling better, her speed in registering orders improved significantly.

Liu Yuqing took the order slip and jogged over to the kitchen.

When she got there, she saw Fu Yu standing at the cooking station, focused on his cooking, as if nothing had happened earlier.

That kind of confidence and calm demeanor didn’t look at all like that of a newly promoted chef.

Why say that?

Cooking is a very profound craft, a skill with a high ceiling.

The more personal skills you master, the simpler cooking doesn’t necessarily become.

On the contrary, because of rich experience, the details in cooking require higher standards.

Because with each bit of improvement and gain in knowledge, you become more aware of previously unnoticed details.

You strive for perfection, paying more attention to details in operation.

And Fu Yu’s performance is like that of a master with decades of experience, calm in both cooking techniques and handling unexpected situations, making people feel very reassured.

This is also a kind of ability!

Liu Yuqing looked at Fu Yu, standing at the cooking station in his chef’s uniform, busy cooking, feeling like she was watching Yao Shi cook again.

This made her increasingly focused and curious about Fu Yu.

Just how good could this person be?

Might he surpass Yao Shi in the future?

”Chef Zhao, one takeout order slip!”

Liu Yuqing handed the order slip to Zhao Meng.

Zhao Meng glanced at it and passed it to Fu Yu.

”Small feast, you handle this one, I still have two orders on hand, can’t manage.”

Fu Yu reached out and took it, sticking it on the kitchen wall without looking at the content.

Taking advantage of the hot oil in the pot, he quickly pulled up the task reward he had just received, feeling a bit like he’d hit the jackpot, still a little stunned.

Just now, out of nowhere, an electronic prompt sounded in his ear:

[Ding! NPC godfather Zhao Meng’s long-term chain quest: Achieve all set goals, surpass Che Yuhang, breaking all the achievements he accomplished one by one. Set task (2) promoting hometown dishes, task completed, you’ve earned: 100 RMB, traditional specialty dish cooking skill, a Universal Spatula, level +1.]

The surprise came too quickly, making Fu Yu feel it was somewhat unreal.

Was this a big win?

He couldn’t help but go over the numerous rewards once again.

Good heavens!

Just by cooking a table meal, he got such a bounty.

Most importantly, he didn’t even know when this task was triggered.

Fu Yu was about to carefully check the specific rewards when another electronic prompt suddenly sounded in his ear:

[Ding! NPC Music Restaurant Chef Zhang Zhen’s task: Help struggling student Zhang Xueyao cure her facial acne and smoothly walk out of her teenage shadow. Task completed, earned reward: a set of endocrine-therapy-adjustment dietary recipes. Zhang Zhen increased affection +20. Zhang Xueyao increased affection +50.]

This time Fu Yu couldn’t help but laugh.

”Damn!”

The long-awaited task reward that hadn’t released earlier suddenly arrived!

He’d been wondering, since Zhang Xueyao’s medicinal diet therapy was completed, why the reward hadn’t been released.

Maybe the system bugged?

Actually, Fu Yu really wronged the system in this case.

The reason why the task reward hadn’t been released was that Zhang Xueyao hadn’t finished using the pearl powder she got from Fu Yu.

Zhang Xueyao didn’t take the ready-made pearl powder egg white mask but pearl powder itself.

Since the prepared mask needed to be used on the same day, but pearl powder only required self-mixing according to Fu Yu’s specified proportions.

It was convenient to use anytime, no worry about spoilage.

Pearl powder was also part of the medicinal diet package, so only after Zhang Xueyao finished the last mask today did the system release the task reward.

The oil in the pot was hot, and Fu Yu hurriedly added the ingredients.

Once the cooking started, he couldn’t stop his hands and didn’t have the time to carefully look at what specific rewards he got.

Anyway, this was a big win, Fu Yu felt delighted and was extra motivated in his work.

Zhao Meng finished a dish and a server happened to come over.

”Did the customer in Suite 104 leave?” Zhao Meng turned and asked.

The person was the waiter responsible for serving Suite 104.

Upon hearing this, he quickly said, ”They’ve already left. The boss and Chef Yao personally saw them off, saying they were very satisfied with our restaurant’s dishes.”

Zhao Meng nodded, ”Got it, thanks for the hard work.”

The server cheerfully carried the dish away.

Only then did Zhao Meng turn to pass the news to Fu Yu.

”All set, the mock crab you made was well-received by the customer.”

Fu Yu immediately felt relieved.

As long as they were satisfied.

To be honest, Fu Yu himself wasn’t that confident about the newly cooked mock crab.

It’s hard to cater to every taste, especially when even the person involved couldn’t clearly describe their preferred flavor.

Zhao Meng himself let out a long sigh of relief.

Staying in the kitchen for most of the day was a bit hot, but more so, he felt a wave of fear.

Knowing the customer in Suite 104 had a special identity, yet precisely for this reason, he had to tough it out, letting Fu Yu give it a go.

He couldn’t exactly gauge the customer’s preferences, after all, he wasn’t a mind reader.

He could only try to meet customer requirements as much as possible, attempting to turn big problems into small ones, and small ones into none at all.

He knew Fu Yu’s culinary skills well.

Even if the dish didn’t meet the customer’s expectations, at least it wouldn’t be unpalatable.

It indirectly showed the kitchen’s stance to the customer, willing to serve all their requests.

They had done their best.

In situations like this, the best solution was to redo the dish without being perfunctory or sloppy, and if the customer requested a different flavor, just follow their instructions.

If it didn’t achieve the desired effect, well, nothing more can be done.

After all, everyone has different tastes.

Zhao Meng was about to praise Fu Yu a bit more when he suddenly saw Yao Shi walking into the kitchen with a smile.

Yao Shi walked straight to where Fu Yu was cooking, smiling as he said, ”Hard work, well done, the customer in Suite 104 was very satisfied with this meal.”

Fu Yu was startled, then smiled, ”It wasn’t hard, it’s mainly because Chef Zhao directed well. Where he pointed, I hit.”
