The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yunong continued, ”Moreover, this dish is quite suitable for children and the elderly. Most children and the elderly love chicken, but frying or roasting it can easily cause them to overheat, and it’s not easy for children to digest.”

”The method of steaming chicken with fermented bean curd makes it flavorful and tender. It doesn’t feel greasy and is easy to digest. We often have customers who specifically come on the day we serve this dish to bring their kids and elderly family members to enjoy it together.”

So this dish is also a medicinal cuisine?

Hearing this, Fu Yu suddenly became interested!

He carefully memorized the medicinal properties.

When he has time, perhaps he could research an improved version of the fermented bean curd steamed chicken and later add it to his medicinal cuisine menu.

The business at Shangshi Private Kitchen has always been booming.

Fu Yu stayed in the kitchen, working hard, until the store’s closing time, as there were still customers in the front hall lingering.

This kind of situation often happens, and the service staff have ways to handle it.

In the kitchen, after finishing cooking the last order, they started packing up, preparing to get off work.

...

On the street opposite Shangshi Private Kitchen, a private car was parked.

Li Linlin specifically came here for dinner this evening.

Initially, he wanted to take this opportunity to see the goddess.

Asking the waiter, he found out that Liu Yunong was indeed in the store, but she was busy cooking in the kitchen at the moment.

So Li Linlin ordered two of the specialty dishes, thinking about how these dishes came from Liu Yunong’s hands, which filled him with happiness.

After eating and settling the bill, he didn’t disturb Liu Yunong’s work, instead returning to his car to watch the restaurant entrance.

In fact, ever since he learned Liu Yunong came to Bei’an to open a branch, Lin Linlin occasionally visited Liu Yunong’s store after work when he was less busy.

Each time he sat in his car, watching people come and go at the restaurant entrance.

Twice, he had planned to invite Liu Yunong for a late-night snack, but often saw a tall, young figure get into Liu Yunong’s black SUV.

Li Linlin has sharp eyes and a good memory, remembering people and cars after seeing them once, like a moving hard drive.

Liu Yunong had good family conditions before, now she has taken over the family business, opening more branches, becoming more successful and well-known.

She’s no longer the simple and demure student wearing the same school uniform like everyone back in school.

Liu Yunong, always good-looking, now with money and charm, attracts more and more admirers, young and old.

Li Linlin is aware of this, silently waiting for Liu Yunong to notice him and give him a chance to show himself.

But, who exactly is that handsome guy following Liu Yunong? What is his relationship with the goddess?

...

It’s 10:30 p.m.

Liu Yunong came out of the restaurant’s main entrance, ready to drive home.

As she walked towards her parking spot, her old classmate Li Linlin, whom she hadn’t seen for days, got out of a car across the street, calling out to her from a distance, waving his hand.

Despite it being mid-January and cold, he wore only a neat suit, with his shirt and tie precisely done up.

Li Linlin approached Liu Yunong with a smile and asked, ”Off work?”

Liu Yunong was a bit surprised, ”Why are you here?”

It was almost midnight, too late to be coming for dinner.

Li Linlin looked at Liu Yunong, filled with joy, momentarily unsure of what to say.

After last parting, this was his first chance to meet and talk with Liu Yunong.

His heart was racing uncontrollably.

Liu Yunong, caught off guard, wondered if Li Linlin suddenly sought her for any specific purpose, so she patiently waited for him to speak.

An awkward silence engulfed them both.

Having not been in touch for a long time, they felt estranged, not having met for several days.

Feeling impulsive, they calmed down.

Li Linlin indeed had feelings for Liu Yunong and wanted to seize the opportunity to pursue her, to give it a try.

However, now, the woman standing several meters away, creating a tangible distance, made him feel a bit flustered and unsure.

After waiting for a while, with no words from Li Linlin, Liu Yunong had to ask, ”Did you come to find me for something specific?”

Li Linlin snapped out, hurriedly explaining, ”Oh, no, I just came for dinner...”

Liu Yunong was surprised, ”This late? But our store is closed.”

”No, I actually came specifically...”

Li Linlin still wanted to say something when someone quickly came out through the restaurant door.

Liu Yunong turned to see Fu Yu smiling as he walked over.

”I forgot to take the packed dishes! Just in time for some drinks back home!”

After speaking, Fu Yu noticed Li Linlin standing nearby.

Seeing him, Fu Yu couldn’t help but quietly size up Li Linlin.

This guy seemed familiar!

Where had he seen him before?

Li Linlin had previously only seen Fu Yu from a distance. Now, up close, wow, he was a handsome guy!

Young, tall, good-looking, with nice skin!

And, this guy kept staring at him!

Those eyes!

What are you looking at!

Fu Yu: ”...”

Being inexplicably glared at.

What’s going on?

In that instant, Li Linlin felt a pang of sadness, thinking: Great, looks like his romance is over before it even began.

Though reserved by nature and not very expressive, Li Linlin’s face now showed a hint of surprise.

The young handsome guy had just used a very intimate tone, telling Liu Yunong they packed some of the store’s dishes to take home for a drink!

He looked to Liu Yunong for an answer, but Liu Yunong only said somewhat awkwardly, ”I’m afraid not today, maybe another day? Let me know ahead of time, and I’ll host you.”

Li Linlin wasn’t foolish; he understood the answer.

So, he clenched his left hand in his pocket tightly, pressing his lips together, ”It’s getting late, I’ll head back first.”

After saying this, he didn’t wait for Liu Yunong to respond, instead turning away.

His steps were unexpectedly hurried, giving a strangely dejected impression.

Liu Yunong watched Li Linlin drive away, then told Fu Yu to get in the car.

Curious, Fu Yu asked, ”Master, is he your friend?”

Liu Yunong nodded, ”Yes, my high school classmate.”

Fu Yu asked, ”What’s his name? He looked familiar, though I can’t recall where I’ve seen him.”

Liu Yunong casually replied, ”Oh, his brother is Li Linfeng, who attended the culinary school with you. Do you know Xiaofeng? They do look somewhat alike.”

Fu Yu realized, ”Right! Li Linfeng and I are good friends! So, the guy just now was Brother Li!”
