The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

After the division of the dormitory, everyone in the kitchen understood clearly.

Fu Yu is now clearly the third person under the two head chefs.

In the future, if there is any head chef position again, the first person to be promoted will definitely be him.

Everyone knows this, so even if they know the leader is giving special attention to Fu Yu, no one raises any objections.

After all, no matter how you say it, Fu Yu indeed has the ability to gain the leader’s esteem.

The work in the kitchen is not easy. Because the restaurant has good business and a large number of orders, compared to the front hall with its many staff and clear division of work, the kitchen is more complicated and tiring.

As the year-end approaches, the customer flow increases significantly. Fu Yu, worried, voluntarily proposed not to go to Shangshi Private Kitchen to learn cooking anymore.

The first person to oppose this, surprisingly, was Yao Shi.

In Yao Shi’s opinion, to get the favor of Liu Yunong and to be taught personally by her in the Liu Family Cuisine method is indeed a stroke of luck.

This kind of rare opportunity should not be missed no matter what.

So when on Friday, Fu Yu proposed to stay at the store to continue working, Yao Shi directly came over for a deep talk with him.

”This rare learning opportunity is a blessing that others can only dream of. You must cherish it.”

”Sharpening the knife won’t delay the chopping of firewood. You are now striving to work better for the store in the future, so don’t feel any pressure. With the kitchen here, you don’t need to worry, just go to Shangshi and learn well from Chef Liu. This is something that will benefit you for a lifetime...”

Fu Yu listened and realized Yao Shi made sense.

But because of this, he worked even more diligently and capably.

By four in the afternoon, customers started to enter the restaurant to dine.

Generally speaking, Friday afternoons are usually less hectic than usual.

Maybe it’s because everyone knows the happy weekend is about to arrive, so they bear with it and rush through their tasks to enjoy a relaxing two days.

However, this restraint completely loosens by Friday evening.

The glorious weekend is about to begin, and after a week of hard work, a celebration is only natural.

In the evening, just when Fu Yu was about to finish his early shift, a waiter hurried over to report.

Fu Yu was already stepping out of the kitchen door when the waiter caught him.

”Chef Fu, the customers at table 5 in the main hall are making a fuss, insisting that the prawns used in our store were fed with gentamicin during farming. Sister Gao is trying to calm them, but it’s getting out of hand. Can you go over and take a look?”

The order for table 5 was taken by Fu Yu. Since it was a small order, he didn’t divide it with Zhao Meng.

Prawns?

Table 5 did order one of the restaurant’s specialty dishes, braised prawns in oil.

But as for whether gentamicin was used in farming, what kind of drug is gentamicin?

Fu Yu really had no idea.

The seafood used by Qianlima is sourced directly from seafood shops, with long-term cooperation ensuring the seafood’s quality is very reliable.

It’s unclear how the customer came to this conclusion.

Fu Yu nodded to the waiter: ”Okay, I’ll go with you to take a look.”

He had just entered the main hall and hadn’t turned to the dining area when he heard someone loudly shouting:

”Isn’t this deceiving consumers? You claim your seafood is guaranteed fresh, but it’s fed with drugs?”

A man was standing by the dining table, arguing intensely with Gao Wenjing.

Seeing the situation wasn’t good, Fu Yu felt a knot in his stomach. Could there really be an issue with the seafood?

It shouldn’t be. Any ingredient he handled had freshness indicators. He never used bad or stale ingredients. Could there have been a slip-up?

Thinking of this, Fu Yu hurriedly rushed into the dining area.

Gao Wenjing was patiently explaining to the customer: ”Sir, please calm down. Let’s talk it over. Regarding the issue you mentioned, here we...”

”What’s going on?” Fu Yu approached the customer at table 5 and introduced himself: ”Hello, I am the chef at the restaurant. Is there anything I can assist you with?”

At this time, purchaser Sun Wei also arrived hastily after getting a call from Gao Wenjing.

The customer was visibly angry: ”You’re the chef? Just in time! Look at your prawns; my mom tasted them and said the prawn heads are very bitter! If the prawn heads taste bitter, it must either be bad shrimp or because gentamicin was used during farming!”

”Anyone with a little knowledge knows that when farming prawns, putting gentamicin in the pond can effectively prevent the prawns from dying! But too much of this is harmful to humans!”

”Your store’s prawns sell for over eighty per plate, so expensive, yet you can’t guarantee quality or quantity. Who will dare to dine here in the future?”

This accusation was a bit too much.

Especially since they were in a public dining area, surrounded by dining customers, allowing them to shout mindlessly was intolerable.

Gao Wenjing quickly responded, promptly countering the male customer’s complaint: ”Sir, please don’t be impulsive. You see, the chef is already here, and the ordering area is right beside. I can now take you to see the entire process from ordering to kitchen cooking in our store.”

”I can assure you, if you find any non-fresh seafood or vegetables in our store, we are willing to compensate you ten times the dining fee and cooperate with a food supervision investigation.”

Gao Wenjing spoke firmly, sounding very confident.

Regardless of the actual situation, just the attitude was quite intimidating.

At this point, purchaser Sun Wei hurriedly presented the day’s purchase order.

The purchase order did not specify a purchase price, but the shop, contact information, purchase quantity, and date were clearly listed.

Moreover, it was professional enough to have both the seafood shop’s and Qianlima Restaurant’s seals.

This couldn’t be faked on the spot.

Especially since the seafood shop is a prominent supplier known for its good reputation in the city.

Given this, the male customer’s attention shifted to the chef.

”The prawns from your kitchen, the prawn heads taste bitter, do you use fresh seafood or not?”

When the male customer spoke, his tone was no longer as confrontational as before, but his anger hadn’t subsided in the least.

Fu Yu also found this incident quite strange.

He was very clear about the freshness of the prawns he handled.

The prawns were obviously fresh and were prepared right away, so how could the prawn heads taste bitter?

He was sure there was no issue with the quality of the prawns, and he was also confident in his cooking techniques, knowing that the taste wouldn’t go wrong.

But now, what was happening?
