Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2290: Chapter 2283: Making a Promise

”Brother Chenguang, are you leaving?” She was a bit shorter than Chenguang, standing in front of him, her watery eyes full of reluctance.

”You are...” An Hao then realized she had been too focused on talking and hadn’t noticed the presence of the little girl here all this time.

”This is my daughter, He Yue!” He Fusheng introduced with a smile, and then pulled out He Mu, who had been hiding inside unwilling to come out, and said, ”This is my son, He Mu! They both really like Chenguang.”

An Hao nodded with a smile, just about to say something to the kids, when she heard He Yue say, ”Auntie, can you not take Brother Chenguang away? I don’t want him to leave.”

”This... You’re Yueyue, right?” An Hao said apologetically, ”Auntie must take your brother away, but if you can’t bear him leaving, you are welcome to visit Auntie’s home, okay?”

He Yue blinked her eyes, nodded with red eyes, ”Auntie, do you promise?”

”Yes. Of course, I promise!” An Hao saw that He Yue was about to cry, so she reached out her hand to make an agreement with her, ”Yueyue, shall we make a promise? Every year during your winter or summer vacations, you come to the city and stay with Brother, okay?”

”Okay!” He Yue very solemnly hooked her little finger with An Hao’s.

”Big Brother, Sister-in-law!” Qin Jian took a pen from his jacket pocket and said, ”I’ll leave you an address and a phone number. If there’s anything you need, just come find me! Whatever it is, I will definitely help you!”

”Oh, oh! Okay, okay!” He Fusheng quickly rummaged through a drawer in the house and handed a tattered little notebook to Qin Jian, ”Leader, don’t dislike this old thing of mine.”

”I don’t mind.” Qin Jian smiled, and with powerful strokes wrote down a string of numbers and his address in the notebook, ”My name is Qin Jian, and his wife is An Hao! In the future, if there’s anything, just come!”

”Okay! Thank you! Thank you, Leader Qin.”

”Just call me by my name! Or brother!”

”Oh! I’ll remember, Leader Qin!”

Qin Jian and An Hao were about to leave with the child, and both He Yue and He Mu gathered around reluctantly.

”Brother Chenguang, don’t forget me when you leave!” As He Yue spoke, her mouth turned downward, and tears fell.

”Yueyue, don’t cry!” Ning Chenguang saw He Yue crying and reached out his little hand to wipe her tears, ”I will come back, don’t worry! I won’t forget you, Yueyue!”

”Little Brother!” He Yue burst into tears and ran away.

Ning Chenguang felt sad as he watched Yueyue unhappy. His heart was filled with reluctance for both Yueyue and his mom, but he couldn’t choose; he had no choice but to follow his mother back.

While he was sad, He Mu walked over and took out a brand-new slingshot from his pocket and handed it to Ning Chenguang: ”Here, this is a gift for you!”

”A slingshot!” Ning Chenguang’s eyes lit up, ”Great! Thank you, Brother He Mu! I will practice well, and when I come back, I will compete with you to shoot birds!”

”Okay! I’ll wait for your return!” He Mu came forward and gave Ning Chenguang a big hug, ”Guangguang, I will miss you!”

”I will miss you too.” Ning Chenguang said quietly.

The kids said their goodbyes, and outside the sun was setting.
