Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2271: Chapter 2266: What a Coincidence, We Meet Again!

”Godmother! I want soda!” Kids can never resist such things; they ask for it as soon as they see it.

Yan Huan is always patient and easygoing with children.

When she was little, she had an inexplicable fondness for those colorful candies. However, Comrade Lao Yan and Lao Feng were always strict with her, warning her about cavities and saying she’d turn into a sugar ball if she ate too much candy, always stopping her from having any.

She understood that feeling of longing, so when she saw the desire in Ning Chenyang’s eyes, she couldn’t bear to refuse.

”Sure. Godmother will buy it for you!” Yan Huan took Ning Chenyang, both delightfully, to buy the soda.

”Boss! Two bottles of soda, please!”

”Alright! Five cents per bottle, one dollar for two!” the boss said.

”Here you go!” Yan Huan took out the money, watched the boss open the soda, and then handed a bottle to Ning Chenyang, ”Drink it slowly! When you’re done, you can return the bottle for a refund! Just don’t break the bottle!”

”Mm-hmm. Okay!” Ning Chenyang nodded quickly.

These two, one big and one small, were drinking soda at the stall. Suddenly, a cheerful girl’s voice came from behind, instantly capturing Yan Huan’s attention: ”Cheng Yue! Hurry up! I want soda, will you sell it to me?”

”What season is it, and you’re drinking soda? Be careful of a stomachache!” The man’s voice was inexplicably familiar, just deeper and more mature than during his adolescence.

Yan Huan’s heart started pounding, and her previously relaxed stance became stiff. She wanted to turn around and look, but somehow her body wouldn’t listen to her.

”Excuse me, miss! Could you please move aside? I want to buy soda!” Perhaps she was in the way, and the girl urged her to change positions.

After her heart raced about 180 beats, she suddenly turned around, and the man’s image standing behind her came into clear focus.

It’s him! It really is him!

It’s been four years since their last meeting!

Four whole years without seeing each other, he has grown from a careless playboy into a handsome young man!

His facial features have shed the earlier naiveté, gaining a more masculine charm. His eyes are still gentle, and he is much taller and more robust than before, standing out even more in a crowd.

Yes! Her once-young man has become an outstanding man with an exceptional appearance!

And this man, alas, still seems not to belong to her!

”Yan Huan! It’s you!” Cheng Yue seemed equally surprised to see Yan Huan, a gleam of emotion flickering in his beautiful eyes.

”Oh...” Yan Huan took a sip of soda to suppress the stir in her heart and said seemingly casually, ”Cheng Yue! We meet again! What a coincidence...”

”Yes, such a coincidence.” Cheng Yue couldn’t help but smile, a grin more captivating than a spring breeze.

Damn it!

Yan Huan couldn’t help but curse herself inwardly. What’s wrong with me? Seeing him makes my heart want to jump out of my chest.

”Cheng Yue, do you know each other?” The girl, dressed like a doll and in her early twenties, looked energetic and full of youthful vitality.

Yan Huan couldn’t help but feel a bit melancholy. She’s already a thirty-year-old woman; what could she possibly compare with this girl?
