Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2270: Chapter 2265: As Long as You’re Happy

”If you’re back, then you’re back! What’s the big deal!” Yan Huan shrugged indifferently, but when she turned around, her heart was anything but calm.

Her mother, Feng Yuzhi, had always been concerned about her marriage, and she really wasn’t that young anymore. It was time to resolve her personal issues.

She had made up her mind countless times to find someone decent and get married. But she found she simply couldn’t do it.

The breakup with Cheng Yue was always like a fishbone stuck in her heart, unable to be removed for years. She wanted to seriously find someone to date, but she found she couldn’t do it.

Every time she closed her eyes in the quiet of the night, the image of a boy in a white shirt, green army pants, casually carrying a military backpack on his chest, would appear. His smile was brilliant, with a hint of mischief, and his bright, twinkling eyes were enough to capture her entire attention.

She realized she had unknowingly fallen for him a long time ago...

All these years, she didn’t know much about him, only that he had returned to the Nanji Military Region to work as a doctor. She truly knew nothing else.

This time coming back, she wondered if he was married now? Did he have a girlfriend?

Probably, right?

After all, he was now the only child of the Cheng Family, would his parents urge him to marry?

”Godmother! What are you thinking about? You’ve been blocking the doorway like a mountain for ages! Can I come in?” Ning Chenyang was struggling to push Yan Huan aside.

”Oh! Yes, yes! Come in! I totally forgot about you!” Yan Huan said apologetically.

Yan Huan stepped aside and Ning Chenyang slipped in like a little mouse, heading straight upstairs.

”Hey! Yangyang, come down! No need to look, I’m the only one at home! Everyone’s at the hospital, you won’t find anyone here!” Yan Huan had often heard her parents and brother’s family talking about this little troublemaker Ning Chenyang, and she knew exactly what he was up to.

”What? Then I miscalculated!” Ning Chenyang said, looking defeated at Yan Huan, ”Had I known, I would’ve thrown a fit to go with Mom and Dad to pick up my brother.”

”What? Is playing with me that boring?” Yan Huan put her hands on her hips, raising her eyebrows, ”Come on, tell me. Your godmother’s in a rare good mood today. Whatever you want to play, I’ll accompany you!”

”Really?” Ning Chenyang’s eyes lit up, ”Godmother, can you take me to the amusement park?”

”Sure! As long as you’re happy!” Yan Huan agreed readily.

”Godmother! You’re the best!” Ning Chenyang cheered.

Off they went, and Yan Huan quickly tidied herself up.

On the weekend, she took off her military uniform and changed into a white shirt. Between a long skirt and pants, she hesitated for a long time but chose pants. Today, she was going to spend the day with this little guy, and pants were more convenient.

Yan Huan grabbed her allowance, took Ning Chenyang out of the compound, and headed toward the bus stop.

From the military district compound, they took the number eight bus, and the amusement park was at the terminus.

Many people came here to play on weekends, most of them bringing their children.

At the entrance of the amusement park stood two mighty stone lions, with vendors selling various items in front of them. Though it was early spring now, there were already people selling soft drinks.

Ning Chenyang saw this and clamored for a drink.
