Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2261: Chapter 2256: Captured

They were on their way to the county town to see a doctor by ox cart, and incidentally buy some things to take back, not expecting that halfway through, the man had a stomach issue and had to relieve himself on the ground, which led them to encounter such an incident.

Since the child said that woman was a bad person who wanted to kill him, there was no reason for them to ignore a cry for help.

Simply put, they decided to take the child home first.

Once the child got better, they would figure out a way to go to the police station and find the child’s parents.

........................

When Yuan Yunong woke up from her unconsciousness, the sun was already setting. She climbed up from the ground and touched the wound on her forehead; the blood from the wound had long solidified.

Although it was no longer bleeding, it still hurt terribly.

”Damn it!” she cursed softly, looking at the sky dyed red by the evening glow, knowing she was not going back.

The smuggling ship had probably left a long time ago, right? They wouldn’t be waiting for her, would they? She wondered how Hua Jin, Hou Zicheng, and the coffee brother were doing. Had they safely reached the other side of the ocean?

Right now, she couldn’t move an inch.

She figured she was going to be trapped by this inescapable web.

Just as Yuan Yunong was feeling dejected, she suddenly heard the sound of footsteps in the cornfield, along with the rustling of corn leaves.

Someone was definitely coming!

She secretly thought things were going bad and turned to flee, but unexpectedly, people gathered from all directions and surrounded her.

”Don’t move! Squat down, hands on your head! Do you hear me!”

Yuan Yunong knew she couldn’t escape. She laughed and said, ”Do you police need to make such a big spectacle to catch me? Am I really that important?”

”Cut the crap! Cuff her and take her to see Captain Qin!”

”Yes!”

As night fell, Qin Jian and An Hao had already returned to the local police station.

It was dinner time, and the soldiers and police officers, who had searched all day, were exhausted, gobbling down the food in front of them.

But An Hao couldn’t eat any of it. It felt like a heavy stone was blocking her heart, and her tears never stopped flowing.

Qin Jian silently stood in the doorway smoking. It had been so long, and there was still no news of the child. He was worried, worried that something bad might have happened to the child.

”Sister-in-law! Don’t cry, eat something. No news is the best news,” Zhao Dong said, handing the chopsticks to An Hao. ”Don’t worry, Guangguang’s fate is big, he’ll be fine.”

”Yes, sister-in-law, don’t be upset. If you don’t eat and harm your health, the captain will be even more worried,” Tian Niu also consoled her.

In truth, since An Hao couldn’t eat, neither could they.

”Alright. I’ll eat.” An Hao picked up her chopsticks and, with tears, slowly swallowed the food, the salty taste blocking her throat.

At this moment, there was a commotion of footsteps outside, followed by an excited shout: ”Captain Qin! We’ve caught Yuan Yunong, finally caught her!”

”Caught her!” An Hao slammed her chopsticks on the table, jumped up, and rushed into the corridor, pushing past Qin Jian at the doorway, looking towards the end of the corridor.

There, Yuan Yunong was being brought back with handcuffs, but Ning Chenguang was not with her.

”Where is Guangguang? Where is my Guangguang?” An Hao rushed up and started tearing at Yuan Yunong’s clothes, shaking her forcefully as she shouted, ”Where is my child? Where did you take Guangguang?”
