Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2262: Chapter 2257: I Killed Him

”I killed him!” Yuan Yunong’s lips curled into a cruel smile.

An Hao’s body went rigid at those words, like a thunderbolt crashing down on her head. She was so shocked that she couldn’t speak for a long time, her body starting to tremble involuntarily.

The air suddenly went quiet, and everyone froze in place as if they had been turned to ice.

”What did you say?” Qin Jian snapped back to reality, tossed aside the cigarette butt in his hand, and crushed it underfoot, his expression as cold as winter as he walked toward Yuan Yunong.

”I said he’s dead! I killed him!” Yuan Yunong continued with a smile, vividly recounting the scene, ”You didn’t know, did you? His neck was really thin, just like those fragile little branches! Just a little force would’ve snapped it! But I didn’t break it, I strangled him with my bare hands! His eyes were wide open, tears glittering in them, his mouth agape, unable to make a sound...”

Before she could finish, Qin Jian had already swung his fist hard at Yuan Yunong’s face.

”Ah—” Yuan Yunong received the blow squarely, her head hitting the cold, hard wall, and the wound that had just healed started dripping blood again, ”You hit me!”

”I, Qin Jian, have never hit a woman! But today is an exception!” Qin Jian said, roughly grabbing her collar and pulling her up, ”Where’s the child? Tell me, or I will make sure you die a gruesome death!”

Yuan Yunong glanced at Qin Jian, and then her gaze moved past him, settling on An Hao’s tear-streaked face: ”He’s dead! I strangled him, his body was so small, so defenseless. When I choked him, his fingernails dug a big hole into the ground, his little legs spasmed and struggled, but in the end, he still died! Do you know what his last words were before he died? ’I want to go home, I want to find my mom...’”

”Ah—!!!” The tense string in An Hao’s heart finally snapped, she cried as she rushed forward and pinned Yuan Yunong to the ground. Her fists rained down like raindrops, leaving Yuan Yunong bruised and battered, bleeding profusely from her nose and mouth.

Everyone watched the scene, but no one dared to intervene!

No one would intervene!

This poor mother had just lost her beloved son! And the enemy was right in front of her, her agony and grief were bound to be unleashed!

”Why? Why did you do it? Why did you kill him! You were his teacher too! He liked you, respected you... why, how could you possibly do it? This was a life!” An Hao cried, each word dripping with tears and blood.

”I... I hesitated!” Yuan Yunong began, tears streaming down her cheeks, ”He looked so adorable, really, he reminded me of Hua Jin when he was little! But even so, I still had to kill him! Because only by killing him could I make you suffer! Make Qin Jian suffer!”

”Why did you have to do this?” An Hao howled, ”Was it because Hua Jin had feelings for me? Is that your reason for killing him?”

”No! Of course not!” Yuan Yunong had no strength left, her eyes stared blankly at An Hao, her voice drifting, ”You and your husband Qin Jian killed my brother! The only family I had in this world!”

”Your brother?” An Hao was stunned, ”I’ve never killed anyone, how could I have killed your brother? You must have mistaken me for someone else!”
