Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 432: Chapter 432: Come Home with Me

Gu Shuangshuang had always been optimistic and rarely mentioned things about her family. Hearing her say this, An Hao couldn’t help but feel heartache for her: ”Shuangshuang, won’t you go stay with your relatives? During the New Year, it’s so desolate for you to be alone at school! This empty campus has only a few people on duty; you can’t even see a shadow.”

”Relatives? My dad is a military man, my mom is an army wife who followed him! We’ve rarely returned to our hometown over the years. I hardly see my hometown relatives even once a year. My mom’s snobbish and has offended all the relatives on her side and my dad’s. Who would want someone staying at their house and eating their food without contributing?” Gu Shuangshuang said, spilling the beans in rapid fire.

Seeing that her best friend’s family situation was like this, and knowing her own family was happy, An Hao felt very uncomfortable. Just thinking about Gu Shuangshuang staying alone in school, she couldn’t stand the thought of that bleak desolation.

”Shuangshuang, if you’re willing, you can come and stay at my house!” An Hao said.

”Go to your house? Can I?” Gu Shuangshuang’s eyes lit up as she spoke, ”Won’t it trouble you?”

”What trouble? Aren’t we best friends?” An Hao retorted.

Gu Shuangshuang responded with a passionate hug: ”An Hao! You’re the absolute best! I just love you!”

An Hao laughed and hugged her tightly: ”I love you too! Come on, let’s go to my house!”

Seeing that An Hao had picked up Gu Shuangshuang along the way and was bringing her home, Qin Jian directly took out money from his pocket and bought another ticket to the town from the ticket seller: ”Since that’s the case, you two should hurry back! It will still take a while to reach home after arriving in town.”

”Alrighty!” Gu Shuangshuang happily grabbed her luggage and scampered onto the bus to save seats for An Hao.

As the bus was about to leave, An Hao looked at Qin Jian with great reluctance. She gently took his hand: ”I’m going back now. It might be several days before we see each other again.”

”I will come to pick you up myself then,” Qin Jian said, stroking her hair softly. ”Get on the bus!”

No sooner had An Hao boarded the bus than it started.

Through the bus window, An Hao waved goodbye to Qin Jian with lingering reluctance.

”Alright, come on, Madam! Your eyes are practically glued to Qin Jian,” Gu Shuangshuang joked, grabbing An Hao’s raised hand and putting it down, ”Look at you with that lovesick expression. Is it worth it for just a holiday apart?”

An Hao said with a smile, ”It’s not just a holiday! It’s only a week left. I have good news for you, I’m going to marry Qin Jian! The wedding is set for a week from now!”

”Did I hear that right? An Hao, you’re getting married!” Gu Shuangshuang excitedly lost control after the surprise, ”Oh my goodness! Does that mean I get to attend your wedding in a few days? I can’t believe it! I simply can’t believe it, ah!”

”I can hardly believe it myself, but it’s true.” After An Hao explained the situation and made a request of her, ”On the day of the wedding, I hope you can stand by my side as my bridesmaid!”

”Bridesmaid? What’s that?” This was the first time Gu Shuangshuang had heard the term.

”It’s someone who accompanies the bride,” An Hao explained with a smile.

”Sure! No problem! I promise to fulfill this mission!” Gu Shuangshuang assured her, patting her chest.

”It’s a deal!”

”It’s a deal!”

The two of them high-fived to seal the deal!
