Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 409: Chapter 409 Overcoming Psychological Barriers

Guan Kexin was originally trying to get closer to Yan Ye, but who knew that today the school would unexpectedly bring in a corpse of a death row inmate.

When Yan Ye made incisions, she endured it.

As the blade opened up the chest, she couldn’t bear it any longer, and even though she hadn’t had dinner, the acidic liquid in her stomach surged into her mouth, bursting past the barrier and spilling out.

The liquid splattered out with a retching sound, covering Yan Ye’s white lab coat, thankfully not getting on the corpse.

Yan Ye glared at Guan Kexin and quickly pulled her aside.

Guan Kexin vomited until the world spun.

The lesson went much better this time; compared to the collective vomiting the first time, this time only half of the people vomited. It was a good start!

”Are you all done?” Yan Ye, having changed his clothes, waited until everyone’s emotions had stabilized before he rapidly brought the topic back to the lesson without wasting a minute, ”Next, I will continue the lecture with a demonstration, and you must observe carefully before practicing.”

Yan Ye’s incisions were clean and decisive, his slender fingers holding the silver scalpel as he earnestly performed the dissection, accompanied by a few explanatory remarks.

He didn’t say much, but every sentence hit the mark.

Listening to his lectures demanded full concentration and allowed no room for distraction.

Soon, he had finished explaining.

”Next, I’ll pick two students for a demonstration.” As soon as Yan Ye said this, his gaze swept over the crowd.

Everyone unconsciously wanted to hide but didn’t dare to.

His eyes were sharp as X-rays, penetrating in a single glance, knowing exactly what you were thinking.

An Hao felt a strong desire to try but was also a bit afraid; her heart wavered as she heard Yan Ye call her name, ”An Hao, come up!”

At that moment, she seemed to hear a collective sigh of relief from everyone.

An Hao stepped forward, took a deep breath, then gripped the surgical scalpel and started to practice according to the explanation.

As the knife cut through skin and flesh, revealing the red and white fat and the mingling scent that filled her nostrils, An Hao’s heart involuntarily shuddered.

”If your hand were this unsteady during surgery, you would sever the patient’s nerves! I believe you would be harming rather than saving lives!” Yan Ye’s icy words rang in An Hao’s ears.

A tremor went through her, and she tried to steady her shaking hands.

”Take deep breaths!” Yan Ye instructed her from the side, ”Cast away the preconceived notions in your mind, focus on the blade, and continue!”

An Hao nodded, and her hand became much steadier, though it still trembled slightly.

Yan Ye frowned slightly and reached out to hold her hand, ”When making an incision, it must be steady, accurate, and decisive!”

After an internal struggle and turmoil, An Hao calmed down, focusing all her attention on one point.

Her movements became fluid, and the knowledge he had imparted was perfectly actualized under her knife.

When she finished, sweat beaded on An Hao’s forehead.

Yan Ye rarely saw such a talented student; she seemed to have been born for the scalpel.

At her age, he had not been as good as she was.

This pleased Yan Ye greatly!

He appreciated talent!

Seeing An Hao do quite well, his gaze towards her carried a few more shades of approval.

”Very good! Just overcome your psychological barriers,” Yan Ye said.

”Yes,” An Hao nodded.

Although Guan Kexin knew that Yan Ye was a very special person with a unique personality, seeing him hold An Hao’s hand, offering encouragement and comfort, her heart felt as if it was being gnawed by ants, unbearably uncomfortable.
