Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 407: Chapter 407: Anything That Requires Consideration is Not Love

”Hey, old Feng! Aren’t you rushing things a bit? Yan Huan is too much like you in this aspect,” Yan Luquan quickly intervened.

Ning Yibin understood, the purpose of their dinner invitation was here.

No wonder, with his son being so outstanding, it would be strange if others weren’t thinking about him.

At the moment, Ning Yibin felt more joy than anything else.

As for his son’s marriage, it was his place to decide.

All he, as a father, needed to do was take care of the wedding arrangements.

After hearing this, Qin Jian put down his chopsticks, and with his gaze fixed clearly on Feng Yuzhi’s face, he said, ”Thank you, uncle and auntie, for your high regard! Yan Huan is indeed wonderful, but I already have a woman I love! We are engaged, and it won’t be long before we get married! I am a very steadfast person, when I commit to someone, it’s for life! Besides her, there’s no room in my heart for another!”

Feng Yuzhi, seeing Qin Jian’s straightforward rejection, was both disappointed and embarrassed!

Taking another look at Yan Huan, she couldn’t hide the loss of face, knowing Qin Jian didn’t fancy her.

She also knew that Qin Jian had a fiancée, but isn’t love said to be selfish? She just wanted to fight for herself!

By now, his loyalty was clear.

If she continued to pester him relentlessly, without any sense of decency, wouldn’t that make her appear terribly lacking in character?

Yan Huan was someone who could handle both praise and criticism, who could pick things up and put them down with equal grace.

With Qin Jian’s words so clear, Yan Huan felt upset inside, but she still had to appear somewhat relieved on the surface. She didn’t want old Yan and old Feng to worry about her anymore, ”Commander, I respect your unwavering devotion to love! I’m sorry for the trouble I’ve caused you and An Hao! Consider me just a test on your journey of love. I wish you happiness!”

After speaking, Yan Huan put down her chopsticks, stood up suddenly, and turned to go upstairs.

”Won’t you reconsider?” Feng Yuzhi asked, still holding out hope.

”Things that need reconsidering are not called love!” Qin Jian stated firmly, ”I only love An Hao! She’s the only one who can be my wife!”

After finishing, he got up, ”I apologize, but I must leave now; there are matters to attend to at my unit! Thank you again, uncle and auntie, for your generous hospitality!”

”Hey, Jianzi!” Zhang Yun hurriedly tried to pull him back, ”Stay for the meal before you go!”

”No need, mom, you all take your time eating! I have things to handle!” After saying this, Qin Jian took his military cap from the rack and then left.

”Look at this...” Zhang Yun felt a bit awkward.

”It’s alright, no problem! Come on, they’ve had their part, let’s continue ours.” Yan Luquan raised his glass with a grin and clinked it with Ning Yibin, ”Here, Commander, to you!”

After leaving the Yan Family’s place, Qin Jian had no particular plans and went straight to the Medical University.

Since he was already out, he had no intention of returning to his unit so early.

Qin Jian arrived at the base of An Hao’s dormitory building just as she was coming down with books in her arms.

Seeing Qin Jian, she was very surprised, ”Why have you come at this time?”

”Hmm, I missed you and wanted to come see you.” Qin Jian glanced at his wristwatch, it was already past seven, he casually asked, ”Have you eaten?”

”I’ve eaten already. Haven’t you?”

”Mm. Let’s go, accompany me for some noodles.” Qin Jian extended his hand towards An Hao. After the events of the evening, he was somewhat impatient to get married.

Perhaps, once they were married, all these messy romantic entanglements would finally cease.
